About the Shopify Product Image Resizer
Add product photos and get square images at 2048 × 2048 pixels, the size Shopify says usually displays best for square product images. The page starts with Fit with padding in white, so the whole product stays in the picture and every image gets the same square shape, as Shopify advises for featured images; choose Crop to fill to fill the square instead. Files keep their format — PNG, which Shopify calls the best type for most product images, stays PNG, and JPG stays JPG — and stay under Shopify’s 20 MB limit.
Up to 100 photos go in one batch. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Without a pass, the free preview shows each result at preview size with a MySmartCoPilot watermark; in a batch, only the first photos are made.
How to use it
- Drop your product photos on the box or choose them: up to 100 at once.
- Keep Fit with padding with a white background to show the whole product, or choose Crop to fill and the part to keep.
- Check the results; download each image with a pass, or after unlocking it, or Download all as a ZIP with a pass, and add them to your products in Shopify.

Shopify’s image rules
- For square product images, 2048 × 2048 pixels usually displays best.
- Images can be any size up to 5000 × 5000 pixels, or 25 megapixels, and must be smaller than 20 MB.
- PNG is the best file type for most product images, then JPEG; TIFF, BMP, GIF, SVG, HEIC and WebP work too.
- Use one aspect ratio for all the featured images, so they look even side by side.
Pad or crop?
- Fit with padding keeps every part of the product and fills the empty bands with the colour you choose, white by default; for PNG and WebP the bands can stay transparent.
- Crop to fill fills the whole square and trims the edges; Position keeps the top, bottom, left, right or centre.
- For a clean white background behind the product, remove the old one first with Remove Background, then pad it here.

Are my photos uploaded?
No. They are resized in your browser, and the page keeps working offline once it has loaded.
