Size

DPI is needed for mm, cm and inches, and is written into JPG and PNG files for printing.

How each photo fits the size

Pad keeps the whole photo and fills the rest of the canvas.

Fills the padding, and transparent parts of photos saved as JPG.
File
KB
KB

With a largest size, each photo gets the highest quality that fits (PNGs get fewer colours). A smallest size pads JPGs that come out too small, for forms that ask for one.

90
The quality used — or the highest one tried when a largest file size is set.
File names

{name} original name (or the CSV’s new name) · {n} number, {n:2} 01, 02 … · {w} × {h} size · {original} always the original name. Amazon bulk uploads read names like B000123456.MAIN.jpg: use {name}.MAIN with photos named by ASIN or SKU.

Two columns: the original file name (with or without its extension), then the new name.

Every photo is re-encoded on your device, so EXIF data, GPS location and camera details are left out of the new files. Nothing is uploaded.

About the Bulk Image Resizer for Marketplaces

Drop a folder of photos and give every one the same treatment: a marketplace square with white padding (2000 × 2000 or 1000 × 1000 px), Shopify’s 2048 × 2048, an Instagram size, a passport, print or exam-form size, or any width × height you type — in pixels, or in millimetres, centimetres or inches at a DPI.

Choose how each photo fits: pad it (with a colour, transparency or a blurred extension of the photo), crop it to fill, fit it inside or stretch it. Set a largest file size in KB and each photo gets the highest quality that fits; rename the files with a pattern such as SKU-{n:2} or from a CSV list; then download one ZIP. The photos are processed one at a time in a background worker on your device — nothing is uploaded, and EXIF data and GPS locations are left out of every file.

How to use it

  1. Drop photos or a whole folder on the box, or select Choose photos (up to 1,000 at a time; HEIC photos from iPhones and TIFF files work too).
  2. Pick a Preset — or type a width and height. Presets only fill in the fields below, so you can adjust any of them.
  3. Choose how each photo fits: Pad (and what fills the padding), Crop to fill (and which part to keep), Fit inside or Stretch. Tick Enlarge photos that are smaller than the size if every file must be exactly that size.
  4. Pick the format and, if a form or store limits the file size, enter the Largest file size in KB (and a Smallest file size for forms that ask for one).
  5. Set the Name pattern (for example SKU-{n:2} or {name}.MAIN) or load a CSV list of new names, then select Resize and Download ZIP.

Common uses

  • Preparing a whole product catalogue for Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho or a Shopify store in one go.
  • Turning holiday photos into Instagram posts or stories of one size.
  • Making photo and signature files for exam forms at the exact pixels and KB a notification asks for.
  • Renaming product photos to SKUs from a spreadsheet before uploading them.
  • Removing GPS locations from photos before sharing them, while resizing.

Where the preset sizes come from

  • Amazon: the Seller Central product image guide accepts JPEG, TIFF, PNG and non-animated GIF files from 500 to 10,000 px on the longest side, recommends 1,000 px or more (which turns on zoom), and asks for main images on a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255) with the product filling 85% of the image. Its bulk upload reads file names made of the product identifier, the variant code and the extension, such as B000123456.MAIN.jpg.
  • Shopify: the Shopify Help Center says square product images usually display best at 2048 × 2048 px, and takes images up to 5000 × 5000 px (25 megapixels) and under 20 MB.
  • Instagram: Meta’s Instagram Platform docs accept feed photos as JPEGs from 4:5 to 1.91:1, up to 1440 wide and 8 MB, and recommend 9:16 for stories.
  • Flipkart and Meesho show their image rules inside their seller panels rather than on public pages, so no preset claims them: use a square preset or type the size and file limit your panel shows.
  • Indian exam and application forms (IBPS, SBI, GATE, SSC, PAN and others) use the photo and signature rules of the Photo & Signature Resizer, with the KB range kept valid whether the portal counts a KB as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes where the range allows.

Pad, crop, fit or stretch?

  • Pad shows the whole photo and fills the rest of the canvas with a colour (white for most stores), transparency (PNG, WebP and AVIF) or a blurred extension — the photo itself, enlarged and blurred, so a tall photo in a square frame does not get plain bars.
  • Crop to fill covers the whole canvas and trims the rest; Position keeps the top (portraits), centre, bottom, left or right.
  • Fit inside keeps every photo’s own shape, at most the size you give: no padding, no cropping.
  • Stretch forces the exact size and distorts photos of another shape.

Small photos are not enlarged unless you tick Enlarge photos that are smaller than the size: enlarging cannot add detail.

File sizes, names and metadata

With a largest file size, each photo is encoded at the highest quality that fits (a quick binary search per photo); PNGs that are too big get fewer colours. If a photo cannot fit even at the lowest quality, the list says so. A smallest file size pads JPGs with an invisible comment until they reach it — some exam portals refuse files below a minimum.

Name patterns use {name} (the original name, or the new name from your CSV), {original}, {n} or {n:3} (001, 002 …), {w} and {h}. Names are cleaned of characters that operating systems do not allow and made unique with -2, -3 … — never spaces or brackets, which upload tools often reject.

Every photo is decoded and encoded again on your device, so the new files carry no EXIF data, GPS location or camera details.

Limitations

  • Up to 1,000 photos at a time and 50 megapixels per photo (24 on phones and tablets); outputs up to 8,192 px on a side.
  • Animated GIF, PNG and WebP files keep only their first frame, and multi-page TIFF files their first page.
  • The finished files stay in this tab until you download them; a large batch can use a lot of memory on phones — work in smaller batches there.
  • Padding keeps the whole photo, so a product may fill less than a store asks for. To place products at an exact fill on pure white, use the Bulk Background Remover.
  • Choosing a folder works in desktop browsers; on phones, select the photos instead.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. They are resized in a background worker in your browser, one at a time, and the ZIP is made on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.

How do I make product photos square with a white background?

Choose Marketplace square 2000 × 2000 px, white padding (or 1000 × 1000). Each photo is kept whole and centred on white. If the background of the photo itself is not white, remove it first with the Background Remover.

Can I keep every file under 100 KB?

Yes: type 100 in Largest file size. Each photo gets the highest JPG or WebP quality that fits (PNGs get fewer colours). If even the lowest quality is too big, the photo is marked — choose a smaller size in pixels.

How do I rename photos with SKUs?

Use a pattern such as SKU-{n:2} for SKU-01, SKU-02 …, or select Rename from a CSV file with two columns — the original file name and the new name. {name} then uses the new name for every photo the CSV lists.

Does it remove the GPS location from my photos?

Yes. Every file is encoded again from its pixels, so EXIF data, GPS location and camera details are not copied into the new files.

Why is a photo marked “Enlarged”?

It is smaller than the size you chose and Enlarge photos that are smaller than the size is ticked, so it was scaled up and may look soft. Use a larger original, or untick the option to pad small photos without enlarging them.
