About the Text Effects Generator (3D, Neon, Gold & Glitch)
Type a word or a title — up to 60 characters on up to three lines — pick one of 40 effects and tune it: 3D letters extruded with bevels and studio light in gold, chrome, rose gold or glossy plastic; flat gold foil, chrome with a reflected horizon, brushed silver and bronze; neon tubes and signs; glitch, RGB split and VHS scanlines; retro sunset stripes and 8-bit pixels; comic letters with halftone shadows and stickers; outlines, long and offset shadows; emboss, letterpress and frosted glass; gradients, rainbow, fire and ice.
The letters come from nine self-hosted fonts under the SIL Open Font License, shaped with their kerning and ligatures; Poppins and Noto Sans also set Hindi, Marathi and Nepali (Devanagari) with conjuncts. With a Pro pass you get a transparent PNG up to 4,096 px wide, an SVG for the seven flat effects, and a looping GIF or video for the four animated ones; without a pass every effect shows live as a watermarked free preview. Nothing is uploaded and no AI is used: every effect is drawn in your browser.
How to use it
- Type your word or title in Text (a line break starts a new line), and choose the font and weight.
- Pick an effect: the samples show each one; Show effects narrows the list to one family, such as 3D, Neon or Glitch.
- Under Adjust, change the colours and the depth, direction, glow, texture or outline the effect uses. Reset this effect goes back to its starting look.
- Look at the result on a transparent, dark or light background in the Preview; an animated effect plays there (Pause stops it).
- With a Pro pass, download the PNG at the width you choose, copy it, or download the SVG, GIF or video; without a pass these stay locked and the preview carries a watermark.
- Press Save style to keep the font, effect and settings under a name in this browser, then use it on any other word.
Examples
“Weekend Sale” · Poppins 800 · Gold Foil · sheen 160°
weekend-sale-gold-foil.png, 1,600 px wide with a transparent background, ready to lay over a photo.
“Open late” · Caveat 700 · Neon Flicker · pink · 3-second loop
open-late-neon-flicker.gif at 800 px (20 frames a second, looping), or an MP4 video for a story.
“शुभ दीपावली” · Noto Sans 700 · 3D Gold
Extruded gold letters with the conjuncts and vowel signs in place, as a transparent PNG.
“studio” · Montserrat 800 · Long Shadow · 135°
studio-long-shadow.svg: the letters and their shadow as clean vector outlines, no font needed to open it.
Common uses
- Titles and words for posters, thumbnails, social posts and banners, laid over your own pictures.
- Logo words and shop signs in gold, chrome or neon.
- Festival and event greetings in English, Hindi, Marathi or Nepali.
- Short looping GIFs and videos of a word for stories and chats.
The 40 effects
- 3D (six): Block, Gold, Chrome, Rose Gold, Glossy Plastic and an animated Turntable — the letters extruded with a bevel and drawn with physically based metals and plastics, lit by a studio-like room.
- Metal (five): Gold Foil, Chrome Horizon, Rose Gold Foil, Brushed Silver, Antique Bronze.
- Neon (four): Neon Tube, Neon Sign, Two-Tone Neon and the animated Neon Flicker.
- Glitch (four): RGB Split, Glitch Slices, VHS Scanlines and the animated Glitch Jitter.
- Retro (four): Retro Sunset, Retro Stack, Synthwave Glow, 8-Bit Pixel.
- Comic and stickers (three): Comic Pop, Halftone Shadow, Sticker Cut-Out.
- Outlines and shadows (six): Outline, Double Outline, Stacked Outline, Long Shadow, Soft Drop Shadow, Hard Offset Shadow.
- Emboss and glass (three): Emboss, Letterpress, Frosted Glass.
- Fills (five): Gradient, Rainbow, Fire, Ice and the animated Shine Sweep.
Effects carry generic names. Every random detail (grain, glitch slices, cracks, flicker) follows your text and settings, so the same settings always give the same picture.
Files
- PNG: the whole picture with a transparent background, 800 to 4,096 px wide (the height follows the text and the effect’s glow or shadow).
- SVG for Outline, Double Outline, Stacked Outline, Long Shadow, Hard Offset Shadow, Gradient and Rainbow: the letters as vector outlines, so it opens without the font. The long shadow is worked out exactly — the letters swept along the shadow’s direction — not drawn as a stack of copies.
- GIF (20 frames a second, looping forever) and video (30 frames a second; MP4 with H.264 where your browser can make it, otherwise WebM) of the animated effects, 2 to 5 seconds long, 480 to 1,080 px wide. A GIF keeps only fully clear or fully solid pixels, so glows look best on a background colour.
Fonts and scripts
Dancing Script, Great Vibes, Caveat, Anton, Bebas Neue, Montserrat, Poppins, Inter and Noto Sans, served by this site under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The OFL lets you use them for logos and any other design work, and artwork made with them is not covered by the font licence (OFL FAQ, questions 1.1 and 1.13). Poppins and Noto Sans draw Devanagari; Noto Sans also covers Greek, Cyrillic and Vietnamese. Characters a font does not have are left out, and the page names them.
Limitations
- Emoji are not drawn, and Arabic, Hebrew and the other Indian scripts are not in these fonts.
- The 3D effects need WebGL; very large 3D pictures are limited by the device’s graphics (the page says so).
- Videos need a browser that can encode video (current Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox); otherwise make the GIF.
- Effects with glow, blur or light are pictures (PNG, GIF, video); only the seven flat effects are also SVG.

Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, Text Effects Generator (3D, Neon, Gold & Glitch) shows every effect live on your own text at preview size with a MySmartCoPilot watermark, the animated ones playing. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Can I use the pictures for a logo or for products I sell?
The fonts are under the SIL Open Font License, which allows logos and any other design work; artwork made with an OFL font is not covered by the font licence (OFL FAQ 1.1 and 1.13). Check that your words themselves are yours to use (a name or slogan someone else owns is not).
Does it work in Hindi?
Yes, with Poppins or Noto Sans: the letters are shaped with the fonts’ Devanagari rules, so conjuncts and vowel signs sit where they should, also in the 3D effects and the SVG.
Why is the background of my PNG chequered?
The checkerboard is how the preview shows a transparent background; the PNG itself has none, so it can be placed over any picture. Switch the preview to Dark or Light to see it on a colour.
Why do some effects have no SVG?
Glows, blurs, reflections and textures are made of pixels, which SVG would only hold as an embedded picture. The seven flat effects are pure shapes and colours, so their SVG stays a clean vector file.
Why does my transparent GIF look rough at the edges?
A GIF pixel is either fully clear or fully solid, so the soft edge of a glow cannot fade out. Untick Transparent GIF to put the loop on a background colour, or make the video.
