About the AI Book Cover & Album/Podcast Cover Generator (Print-Ready Covers with Real Typography)

Type the title, an optional subtitle, the author and the genre — romance, thriller, fantasy, self-help, Hindi literature, a music style or a podcast — add a few mood words, and get 12 cover designs with real typography at once: big stacked titles, framed classics, script romance titles, title bands, a sun or moon, diagonal blocks and more, in fonts and colours that suit the genre. Use typography alone, your own photo or illustration, or optional AI cover art.

Choose the format: an eBook front at 1,600 × 2,560 px, a paperback full wrap — back cover with your blurb, spine and front — at the trim size, page count and paper you enter, with 0.125 in bleed, safe areas and the barcode area from the Book Cover Size Calculator, or a square album or podcast cover at 3,000 × 3,000 px. Every text is checked for contrast, pictures for print resolution, and the PDF has the text in outlines. Without a pass every cover is a watermarked free preview; the files unlock with a Pro pass, or one cover at a time.

How to use it

  1. Type the title, subtitle (optional), author or artist, pick the genre and add mood words such as “rain, nostalgia” or “dark, neon”.
  2. Choose the format. For a paperback, pick the trim size, enter the page count and choose the paper; the spine width comes from the page count. Add the back-cover text.
  3. Press Make 12 designs and pick one. Optionally press Match by meaning (AI) to have a model on your device re-rank the layouts, fonts and palettes by the meaning of your words.
  4. Make it yours: change the layout, colour treatment, palette, fonts and the emblem’s symbol; add your picture, or describe AI cover art and choose a style (illustration, watercolour, 3D render, photo, flat vector or anime-style).
  5. Without a pass you see a free preview: JPG, PNG, PDF, Share and Print open the ways to unlock; with a Pro pass (or this cover unlocked) they give the full-size files.

Designs that suit the genre

Each genre brings its typical layouts, fonts and colours: thrillers get big stacked capitals and dark photos, romance a script title, fantasy a framed classic, business diagonal blocks, children’s books a symbol in a circle. Twelve layouts in five colour treatments — dark, light, gradient, pattern and your picture — make 60 designs; the twelve shown are the best for your genre and mood words. Fonts are self-hosted open-licence families (Anton, Bebas Neue, Montserrat, Inter, Poppins, Noto Sans, Great Vibes, Dancing Script, Caveat), and Hindi titles are shaped correctly.

Match by meaning is the optional AI step: an AI model on your device (one for English, another for other languages) re-ranks the same layouts, fonts and palettes by meaning; it never invents a design.

Paperbacks: spine, bleed and barcode

The wrap follows Amazon KDP’s rules through the Book Cover Size Calculator: spine width = pages × paper thickness (0.002252 in per page on white paper, 0.0025 in on cream), 0.125 in bleed on the top, bottom and outside edges, text at least 0.125 in inside the trim, and the 2 × 1.2 in barcode area at the bottom of the back cover left clear. Spine text appears only on books with more than 79 pages, as KDP requires. The PDF is the full wrap at its size with the trim and bleed boxes set; crop marks are optional for printers that want them — leave them off for KDP, which asks for covers without crop marks (KDP: create a paperback cover, KDP: barcodes). Other printers use the same layout — check their template too.

Pictures and AI cover art

Add your own photo or illustration: the cover crops it to fill the front and lays a dark or light shade under the text so it stays readable. The page warns when a picture gives less than 300 dpi in print (1,838 × 2,775 px for a 6 × 9 in front with bleed). AI cover art sends only your description of the art to MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI, and the art keeps a small “AI-generated” mark; the title and author are always set by the page in real fonts, never drawn by the model. Requests for famous characters, real people, children, religious figures or an artist’s style are refused, and children’s and devotional books use typography or your own pictures. AI art is available only while MySmartCoPilot’s image AI is switched on; the page tells you when it is not.

Store sizes

  • eBook: KDP gives 1,600 × 2,560 px as the ideal size (a height/width ratio of 1.6:1), as JPEG or TIFF (KDP: cover image guidelines).
  • Paperback: a PDF of the full wrap at the trim size plus spine and bleed, images at 300 dpi.
  • Album and single: square artwork at 3,000 × 3,000 px for the music stores.
  • Podcast: Apple Podcasts takes square show covers from 1,400 × 1,400 to 3,000 × 3,000 px as PNG or JPG, with no transparency, and prefers the largest size (Apple Podcasts: show cover); use the JPG, and keep the title large enough to read as a small thumbnail.

Limitations

  • Check your printer’s or store’s cover rules before you publish; this page follows KDP’s paperback rules, and other printers can differ.
  • AI art keeps a small “AI-generated” mark and can resemble existing works. In the US purely AI-generated material is not protected by copyright, and in India the position is unsettled.
  • Pictures are not enlarged with AI: a small picture prints soft — use one of at least 300 dpi at the cover size.
  • Hardcover dust jackets and case laminates need extra wrap and hinge areas; use your printer’s template for those.
  • Fonts cover Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Vietnamese and Devanagari; other scripts are left out with a note.
  • MySmartCoPilot claims no ownership of what you make.

Cloud AI only if you choose it: you see what is sent first

Your covers are made in your browser: fonts, icons and the cover engine load from MySmartCoPilot the first time they are needed, and your title, text and pictures never leave your device. “Match by meaning” runs an AI model on your device, which gets ready the first time (its files come from MySmartCoPilot and stay in your browser). Only if you choose AI cover art is your description of the art — nothing else — sent to MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI.

Frequently asked questions

What do I get without a pass?

Without a pass, AI Book Cover & Album/Podcast Cover Generator (Print-Ready Covers with Real Typography) shows each cover at preview size (up to 640 pixels) with a MySmartCoPilot watermark across it, and the paperback’s trim, spine and bleed. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded, printed or shared. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.

Can I upload the cover to Amazon KDP?

Yes. The eBook JPG is 1,600 × 2,560 px as KDP recommends, and the paperback PDF is the full wrap at the trim size, spine and 0.125 in bleed KDP asks for, with spine text only above 79 pages and the barcode area clear. Leave “Crop marks in the PDF” off for KDP, upload the file with KDP’s own previewer and check it there.

Is the cover made by AI?

The layout and typography are made by rules from your words, curated fonts and colours — no AI. Two steps are optional AI: “Match by meaning” re-ranks the choices on your device, and “Make AI art” creates artwork from your description with MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI.

How is the spine width worked out?

From your page count and paper, with KDP’s paper thickness: for example 280 pages on cream paper × 0.0025 in = a 0.7 in spine.

Can I make album and podcast covers?

Yes: choose the album or podcast format for square 3,000 × 3,000 px artwork; the music and podcast genres bring their own layouts and fonts.

Does it work with Hindi titles?

Yes. Devanagari titles are shaped correctly (conjuncts and vowel signs) with Poppins or Noto Sans, and the Hindi literature genre suits them.

Are my title and pictures uploaded?

No. Everything is made in your browser. Only the optional AI art sends your description of the art to MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI.
