About the Amazon FBA Restock & Inventory Planner

Plans what to reorder for every SKU you sell through Fulfillment by Amazon, from the reports you already download. Open the FBA Inventory report (or the Restock Inventory report), add the All Orders report for the sales history if you like, the stranded inventory report, and a supplier sheet with each SKU's lead time, days to reach Amazon, case pack, minimum order, unit cost, stock in your own warehouse and what is already on order.

For each SKU you get its sales rate (a weighted mix of the last 7, 30, 60 and 90 days, with your seasonality), the days of cover at and on its way to Amazon, the stock-out date, the day to order by and how much to order in whole case packs and at least the minimum order, and what to ship to FBA now from your own warehouse. It flags the low-inventory-level fee before it starts, units heading for the aged inventory surcharge, stranded units that are not selling, and your storage use against your capacity limits. Purchase orders come grouped by supplier with their value.

Without a pass the plan is a free preview: how many SKUs to order now, soon or not at all, and the first rows of the plan with the quantities, dates and amounts hidden; the full plan, the purchase orders and the shipment list unlock with a Premium pass. Your reports are read in your browser and never uploaded.

    How to use it

    1. In Seller Central, download the FBA Inventory report (Inventory › FBA Inventory), or the Restock Inventory report, and the stranded inventory report if you have stranded units.
    2. Add the All Orders report for a sales history by day, if you want it; without it, the units shipped in the FBA Inventory report give the rates.
    3. Fill in the supplier sheet, a row per SKU (lead time, days to Amazon, case pack, MOQ, unit cost, your warehouse stock, units on order), and add it; its template is there at any time, even in the free preview. A SKU that is not in your reports yet, with an expected daily sale, is planned as a new product.
    4. Set the safety days, how many days one order should cover, the days of stock to keep at Amazon, how to weigh the recent and longer sales rates, and how busy each month is.
    5. Read the plan, order-now SKUs first, then the purchase orders by supplier and the shipments to send.
    6. The plan, the purchase orders and the shipment list (CSV and workbook) unlock with a Premium pass; without one the plan is a free preview. The supplier template downloads at any time.

    Examples

A SKU that is running out
    Input
5 sold a day, 10 at Amazon, 100 in your warehouse, case of 10, lead time 20 days, 10 days to Amazon
    Result
2 days of cover: order 41 cases (410 units) now, and ship your 10 full cases to FBA today.
    A minimum order
    Input
2 sold a day, 160 at and to Amazon, 48 in your warehouse, case of 24, MOQ 100, lead time 30 days
    Result
80 days of cover; order 5 cases (120, raised to the MOQ) within 46 days.
    A new product
    Input
Only in the supplier sheet, expected to sell 3 a day, case of 12, lead time 40 days
    Result
Planned from the expected sales: 32 cases (384 units), to order now.

    Common uses

    • A weekly restock routine: which purchase orders to place and which shipments to send, in one list.
    • Keeping fast sellers above the low-inventory-level fee line without overstocking slow ones.
    • Planning a seasonal peak with a busier month set in the seasonality.
    • Checking a new product’s first order from its expected daily sales.

How the plan is worked out

    • Sales rate = your weights × the daily rates over 7, 30, 60 and 90 days, scaled by how busy each coming month is compared with this one. A period longer than your order history is measured over the days the history covers.
    • Days of cover = days until the stock at Amazon, in transfer and on its way there runs out at that rate.
    • Order by = the day all your stock (Amazon, your warehouse and units on order) runs out − lead time − days to Amazon − safety days.
    • Order = the sales over the lead time, the days to Amazon, the days one order covers and the safety days − all your stock, rounded up to whole case packs and to at least the minimum order.
    • Ship now = the sales over the days to Amazon and the cover you keep there − the stock at and on its way to Amazon, in whole cases from your own warehouse.

    Amazon’s inventory fees

    • The low-inventory-level fee is added to units shipped when a SKU keeps too little stock compared with its sales: when both its short-term and long-term historical days of supply are under 28 days. A SKU that sold fewer than 20 units in the last 7 days is exempt, as are some others the fee page lists; the FBA Inventory report says whether it is charged this week.
    • The aged inventory surcharge applies to units stored 181 days or more (fee page); the plan shows the units already there, Amazon’s own estimate from the report, and the units aged 91 to 180 days that will pass 181 days in the next 90 at the current sales rate.
    • Capacity limits are set by storage type in Seller Central; type yours to see the space used now, after the shipments and once the purchase orders arrive.

    Which reports give what

    • The FBA Inventory report: stock available, reserved, inbound, units shipped over 7 to 90 days, ages, volumes and the fee flags. The Restock Inventory report gives 30-day sales and Amazon’s own recommendation, shown beside the plan for comparison.
    • The All Orders report: every order line by day, the best sales history (cancelled and seller-fulfilled lines are left out). Downloads of overlapping dates are counted once.
    • The stranded inventory report: units with no active offer, which are not counted as stock that sells.
    • Your supplier sheet: everything Amazon does not know — lead times, case packs, minimums, costs, your own warehouse and units on order.

    Limitations

    • MySmartCoPilot is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon.
    • A plan from your past sales and the numbers you enter; demand can change, and suppliers and carriers can be late. Keep the safety days to match your risks.
    • Amazon’s fees, exemptions and capacity limits change; the report flags and your own limits are what the plan uses.
    • Inbound placement, prep and carrier choices are made in Send to Amazon; the shipment list is what to send, not a shipment plan.
    • One marketplace at a time: add the reports of one store together.

    Frequently asked questions

What do I get without a pass?

Without a pass, Amazon FBA Restock & Inventory Planner shows how many SKUs to order now, soon or not at all, and the first rows of the plan (up to 10) with the quantities, dates and amounts hidden. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.

    Which reports do I need?

The FBA Inventory report alone gives a plan: it has the stock and the units shipped over 7, 30, 60 and 90 days. The supplier sheet adds lead times, case packs and minimums; without it the defaults in the settings are used. The All Orders report gives a daily sales history.

Why does the plan differ from Amazon’s restock recommendation?

Amazon recommends from its own view of your sales and lead times; this plan uses your lead times, case packs, minimum orders, warehouse stock, units on order and seasonality. Both are shown side by side.

    How does seasonality work?

Give each month a number: 1 is an ordinary month, 2 sells twice as much, 0.5 half. The sales rate of this month is scaled to each coming month day by day, so an order placed now for a busy December covers more units.

    What is a stranded unit?

A unit at Amazon whose listing has no active offer, so it cannot sell. The plan leaves it out of the stock that sells and names it, so you can fix the listing.
