About the AI Dictation (Voice Typing That Cleans Up Your Text)
Dictate, or paste a transcript you already have, and read back text you can actually send. The tool takes out the sounds and fillers people say while thinking — um, you know, basically, matlab, yaar — collapses the stammers (I I was), turns the words you speak for punctuation into punctuation, and puts capitals and full stops where sentences end. Then it lays the same words out as an email, a chat message, notes or a bullet list.
Speaking happens on your device: your browser recognises the words itself, so no audio is sent anywhere, and Whisper can transcribe your recording on the device instead when you ask for it. The clean-up is rule-based and always available; where your browser has built-in AI, or after you agree to a one-time model download, a small model on your device smooths the result as well and the page labels it as AI.
Hindi works in both scripts: dictate in Hindi and read it back in Devanagari (हिंदी) or in Roman letters (Hinglish), and type Hinglish to get Devanagari. Words the recognition keeps getting wrong — names, products, your own spellings — go in your vocabulary list and are corrected every time.
How to use it
- Pick the language you will speak: English or Hindi. The line under it says whether your browser can recognise it on this device.
- Press Dictate and allow the microphone, then speak in short phrases. Say comma, full stop, question mark or new line for punctuation (in Hindi: अल्पविराम, पूर्ण विराम, नई लाइन). Press Stop when you are done — or skip all this and paste a transcript into the box.
- Choose how much to take out (sounds only, sounds and fillers or strongest) and which format you want: clean text, email, message, notes or bullets.
- Read the finished text beside your own words, with the counts of what changed. In the free preview the first words are shown; unlock the result to read all of it, copy it or download it as .txt or .md.
- Add the words recognition gets wrong to My vocabulary (one a line, or
said = written). They are kept in this browser and applied to every dictation.
Examples
hi priya comma um so I wanted to um send you the the figures for the Mumbai site full stop basically they are ready full stop
Hi Priya, So I wanted to send you the figures for the Mumbai site. They are ready. Thanks,
Two “um”s, “basically” and the second “the” taken out, the spoken comma and full stops written, the email laid out (format Email, take out Sounds and fillers).
मैं ठीक हूँ अल्पविराम आप कैसे हैं प्रश्न चिह्न
मैं ठीक हूँ, आप कैसे हैं? · Roman: main theek hoon, aap kaise hain?
shree cement = Shree Cement Ltd seo = SEO
Every “shree cement” becomes “Shree Cement Ltd”, every “seo” becomes “SEO”.
Common uses
- Writing emails, messages and notes by speaking, and sending them without editing out the “um”s by hand.
- Turning a voice note you typed up, or a transcript from somewhere else, into something readable.
- Dictating in Hindi or Hinglish and choosing the script the reader expects.
- Writing when typing hurts, or when your hands are busy on a site or in a kitchen.
What is taken out, and what never is
- Sounds only: um, uh, er, erm, hmm, ah — never words, and never a unit after a number (“10 mm”).
- Sounds and fillers: also basically, and the words that only fill a pause where they do: you know, you see, I mean, kind of and sort of in the middle of a thought (“the plaster work, you know, finished on Tuesday”), honestly, frankly and anyway at the start of a sentence or between commas, and the Hinglish fillers matlab, yaar, arre and a sentence-opening toh or achha,. “Do you know him?”, “what kind of car”, “he answered honestly”, “iska matlab kya hai” and “mera yaar” keep their words.
- Strongest: also like, actually, literally, really and just, and okay, right, well and so where they open a sentence — but only where they are doing nothing: “I would like to come”, “turn right”, “well done” and “so many people” keep theirs, and so does a question tag (“…, right?”).
Only stammered short words collapse (“I I was”, “the the”). A repeated number (“98 98 98”) is data and stays, and so does doubling that means something: “very very”, “had had”, धीरे धीरे, kabhi kabhi.
Nothing else changes. No sentence is rewritten, nothing is summarised, and not a single fact, name or number is added; numbers, times, e-mail addresses and links stay exactly as written. A spoken mark after an article is a word, not a mark (“the bus came to a full stop”). The counts beside the result say exactly how many fillers, repeats, spoken punctuation marks and vocabulary corrections were applied.
Where the words are recognised
Desktop Chrome can recognise many languages on the device once it has the language’s speech pack, and this page uses that only: it asks your browser whether the language is available on the device, and dictates only if the answer is yes. If it is not, nothing is sent to a speech service behind your back — the page says so and, when this site can deliver the model, offers Whisper on this device instead, which downloads the model once (about 44–250 MB depending on the size you pick) and then works offline, including for Hindi; when it cannot, the page tells you before you speak, and typing or pasting gets the same clean-up. For live voice typing in more languages, the Speech to Text tool uses your browser’s own recognition without any of this clean-up.
Hindi, Devanagari and Hinglish
Hindi dictation comes back in Devanagari. Roman (Hinglish) rewrites it the way people type it in chat — हिंदी → hindi, ठीक → theek, आप कैसे हैं → aap kaise hain — through the same letter tables as the Indic Script Converter, with the silent “a” of Hindi left out. Devanagari does the reverse for text you typed in Roman letters: the everyday words come from a word list and the rest sound by sound. Roman Hindi has no fixed spelling, so check that direction before you send it.
The AI part, and what it is allowed to do
The clean-up above is plain rules, runs instantly and needs no model. On top of it, your browser’s built-in AI — or, in a browser that can use the graphics processor (WebGPU), a small model (Qwen3 0.6B) downloaded once to your device after you agree — can smooth the wording of the format you chose. Press Polish with AI on my device, then pick an option in the AI panel when it asks. It is told to use only what you said, and its answer is labelled as AI with the model that produced it. Nothing is sent to MySmartCoPilot: there is no cloud AI in this tool. If neither is available, the rules alone produce the result and the page says so.
Limitations
- Recognition accuracy depends on your microphone, the room and the speaker; a name said once is often a guess, which is what the vocabulary list is for.
- Live dictation needs a browser that already has your language’s speech pack on the device (desktop Chrome); this page does not download one. Elsewhere the words come from Whisper after you stop. Firefox offers web pages no speech recognition.
- Whisper needs a one-time model download and a few seconds of work for each minute of speech; on a phone with little memory pick the small model.
- The rules read English and Hindi. Other languages are punctuated and tidied, but their fillers are not in the lists.
- Roman Hindi (Hinglish) spellings vary from person to person, so Devanagari from Roman input is a best effort to check, not a conversion you can trust blindly.
- An AI clean-up can still word something awkwardly: it is labelled as AI, and Show the rule-based text brings back the rules’ version at once.
Privacy
Everything happens in your browser. What you enter or open here is not uploaded or stored by MySmartCoPilot. Dictation uses your browser’s own speech recognition on this device. For Whisper, or for the AI clean-up when your browser has no built-in AI, you are asked first and the model is downloaded from MySmartCoPilot once (its size is shown) and then runs on your device. Your audio and your text are never uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, AI Dictation (Voice Typing That Cleans Up Your Text) shows what you dictated in full, every count of the clean-up and the first words of the finished text (up to 100). Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro or Premium pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Is my voice or my text uploaded?
No. Recognition runs in your browser on this device, Whisper runs on your device after a one-time model download, and the clean-up runs in the page. MySmartCoPilot never receives your audio or your text, and this tool has no cloud AI mode.
Does it work offline?
The clean-up, the formats and the scripts work offline. Dictation works offline once your browser has the language pack on the device, or once the Whisper model has been downloaded.
How is this different from Speech to Text?
Speech to Text types what you say live and leaves it as it is. This tool adds the clean-up: fillers and stammers out, punctuation and capitals in, your vocabulary applied, and the same words laid out as an email, a message, notes or bullets.
Can I dictate in Hindi?
Yes. Choose Hindi, and say अल्पविराम, पूर्ण विराम or नई लाइन for punctuation. You can read the result in Devanagari or in Roman letters, and Hinglish you type can be turned into Devanagari.
Where is my vocabulary list kept?
In this browser only, with the rest of your settings for this tool. It is never uploaded, and clearing the site’s storage removes it.
