About the AI Tone Changer
Paste a message and choose how it should sound: formal, professional, polite, friendly, casual, confident, empathetic, persuasive, diplomatic, apologetic, enthusiastic or neutral. Say who will read it — a manager, a client, a customer, a teacher, a friend — and, if it helps, the situation: a polite follow-up, a firm-but-polite reminder, saying no kindly, an apology, a thank-you note, a request for help or feedback.
The AI rewrites your words in that tone and keeps what you said: the facts, the dates, the request. Each run adds a version (up to three), Changes shows every edit word by word, and How it reads now compares the tone of your text and of the rewrite. For English text, phrase suggestions that need no AI point at the words that set the tone (“ASAP”, “I need you to”, “gonna”, “as per my last email”) and change them in your own text when you press Apply.
The rewriting runs on your device where it can — in your browser’s built-in AI or a model you download once — and on MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI only if you choose it.
How to use it
- Paste or type your text, or press Try an example.
- Pick a Tone, then optionally Who will read it and the Situation. Leave Language on “Detect from my text” unless the detection is wrong.
- Optionally use the phrase suggestions first: each one shows the change and the reason; Apply makes it in your text.
- Press Rewrite. The first time, choose where the AI runs: on this device (the download size is shown first) or MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI (you see exactly what is sent).
- Compare the versions and the How it reads now line. Copying and the .txt and Word downloads unlock with a Pro pass; without one the free preview shows the first words of each version.

Hi there, just a quick note to say the event has a new date. Thanks!
Common uses
- Turning a quick note into a professional email for a manager or a client.
- Making a complaint, a reminder or a refusal firm without sounding rude.
- Warming up a stiff message for a colleague, or making a casual one formal.
- Writing an apology that takes responsibility without over-apologising.
What the tones mean
- Formal: official or business register, complete sentences, no slang or contractions.
- Professional: clear, courteous and businesslike.
- Polite: courteous, with softened requests.
- Friendly: warm and approachable. Casual: relaxed everyday words.
- Confident: direct and assured, without hedges. Persuasive: clear reasons, benefits and a clear request — without exaggeration or pressure.
- Empathetic: acknowledges the reader’s situation. Diplomatic: tactful, nobody blamed.
- Apologetic: a sincere apology that owns the problem. Enthusiastic: upbeat, without hype.
- Neutral: plain and factual, with the emotion taken out.
What the AI may and may not change
It changes words, sentence structure, greetings and sign-offs. It is told to keep every fact and everything the text asks for or offers, and never to add promises, deadlines, prices, names or offers that are not in your text. Every answer is checked before you see it: it must share enough of your text’s words and keep about its length (a reply about something else is rejected), add no links and keep masked personal details unchanged; numbers and quotations that were not in your text are pointed out under the result.
Phrase suggestions without AI
For English text the page suggests swaps that move the tone your way, with the reason for each: for formal and polite tones ASAP → at your earliest convenience, I need you to → could you please, contractions written out; for casual and friendly tones the reverse (I would like to → I’d like to, regarding → about); for a confident tone hedges such as I was wondering if you could → could you; for neutral and diplomatic tones heated phrases such as as per my last email. Nothing changes until you press Apply, and they never send anything.
How it reads now
After a rewrite, the line under it compares how your text and the rewrite read on the cue-based scales of the AI Tone Analyzer — for the first example above it shows Polite 0% → 86% and Blunt 80% → 0%. It is a quick check that the tone moved the way you wanted, not a score of the writing.
Limitations
- An AI rewrite can change a meaning, soften something you meant firmly or drop a detail. Read it before you send it.
- On-device models need a browser with WebGPU; the smallest writes English only. The cloud AI has a small shared daily allowance that resets at 05:30 IST (00:00 UTC).
- Up to 1,500 words per run; longer texts go in parts, so the model does not see the whole text at once.
- Phrase suggestions cover common English phrases only; other languages rely on the AI rewrite.
- The before/after line uses word and punctuation cues, so it can miss tone carried by meaning alone.
Privacy
Your text is rewritten on your device by your browser’s built-in AI, or by an AI model that is downloaded from MySmartCoPilot once (its size is shown first) and then runs in your browser. Only if you choose MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI is your text sent, with email addresses, phone numbers and ID numbers masked first; it is not stored. The phrase suggestions never leave the page.
Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, AI Tone Changer shows the first words of the AI result (up to 100). Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro or Premium pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Will it change what I said?
It should not: the AI is told to keep every fact and every request, and an answer that has little in common with your text is rejected before you see it. Still, read the result — Changes shows exactly what was edited.
Is my text uploaded?
Not unless you choose the cloud option. Your browser’s built-in AI and the downloadable model run on your device, and the phrase suggestions run in the page. If you pick MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI, the dialog shows exactly what is sent — with email addresses, phone numbers and ID numbers replaced by placeholders — and nothing is stored.
Which tone is best for a work email?
Professional suits most work email; polite or diplomatic for a sensitive request; firm but polite (under Situation) for a reminder that has been ignored; formal for official letters. Set the reader as well: a client and a colleague get different wording.
Does it work in Hindi?
Yes, and in many other languages. The AI is told to keep your writing system: Hindi in Devanagari stays in Devanagari, Hinglish in Roman letters stays in Roman letters. The built-in browser AI covers only a few languages, the downloadable models and the cloud AI many more. The phrase suggestions are English only.
