About the Paraphrasing Tool

Paste a sentence or a paragraph and get it back in new words, with the same meaning. Standard changes the wording and the sentence structure; Fluent makes the text read smoothly and naturally and fixes awkward phrasing and small grammar slips. The words that changed are highlighted, so you see at a glance what is new, and with a pass one click copies the result.

Without a pass you see a free preview: the first words of each rewrite, with the new words highlighted and any number, date or link it left out. A Pro pass unlocks the whole rewrite, Copy and Use as my text.

The rewriting is done by AI that runs on your own device: your browser’s built-in AI where it has one, or a language model that is downloaded once (you see its size and agree first) and then works on your computer or phone. Your text is never uploaded, you don’t need an account, and each run rewrites up to 125 words — paraphrase a longer text a paragraph at a time.

AI can get things wrong. The page checks that every number, amount, date, link and e-mail address of your text is still in the rewrite and warns you when one is missing or the length changed a lot — but read the result before you use it.

How it works on your device

Your text is rewritten in your browser. If the browser has a built-in AI model that is ready, it is used first. Otherwise the page offers a language model from MySmartCoPilot, which runs on your device’s graphics chip through WebGPU: a larger model where the chip has the memory for it, a smaller one elsewhere. The model is stored by your browser, so it is downloaded only once, and nothing you type is sent anywhere. Browsers without WebGPU and without built-in AI cannot run it yet; the page says so instead of sending your text away.

The model is asked to keep every fact, name, number, date, link and quotation, to add and leave out nothing, and to answer only with the rewrite. After it answers, the page checks the numbers, amounts, dates, links, e-mail addresses, @handles and hashtags of your text against the rewrite, and the length (a rewrite less than half or more than 1.6 times as long as your text is flagged).

Paraphrasing honestly

• A paraphrase of someone else’s ideas still needs a citation: new words do not make the ideas yours. Use the Citation Generator to cite the source.
• Schools, universities, publishers and employers have their own rules about AI tools; follow them.
• This tool rewrites text so that it reads better. It does not hide that a text was written with AI and is not made to get past AI or plagiarism checkers.
• Read every rewrite before you use it: AI can change the meaning of a sentence without making it obvious.

Limitations

• Up to 125 words per run; rewrite longer texts in parts.
• The first run needs a one-time download of about 350 MB to 1 GB unless your browser has built-in AI, and a browser with WebGPU, for example a recent Chrome or Edge on a computer.
• Results are best in English. Other languages, such as Hindi, can work, but check them especially carefully.
• Each run gives a different version; none is guaranteed to be correct.

Everything happens in your browser. What you enter or open here is not uploaded or stored by MySmartCoPilot. Rewriting uses your browser’s built-in AI where it has one. Otherwise you are asked first, and a language model is downloaded from MySmartCoPilot once (about 350 MB to 1 GB, depending on your device; the size is shown) and then runs on your device. Your text is never uploaded.
