About the YouTube Timestamp Link Generator & Link Cleaner
Paste any YouTube link (a watch page, a youtu.be share link, a Short, a live stream, an embed, YouTube Music, the mobile site or even YouTube Studio) and get it back clean: the video, its start time, its playlist and a linked comment stay; the si, pp, feature, utm_… and other extra parameters go, and the tool lists what it removed.
Set a start time and every link starts there: the full link (watch?v=…&t=83), the short youtu.be link (?t=83) and the embed URL (?start=83). A Short also gets a regular-player link, so it opens with the normal timeline and speed controls. Paste a list of timestamps such as 4:02 Cook & serve and each one becomes a link to that moment, as plain text, Markdown, HTML or CSV.
Without a pass, the free preview shows the first lines of a linked timestamp list; the full list, Copy list and its downloads come with a Pro pass. The cleaned links of your own video are never locked.
How to use it
- Paste a YouTube link into the box. The tool says what it found, for example a Short, a video in a playlist or a start time, and which parameters it removed.
- Type a start time (
1:23,1:02:03or83) or keep the one from the link. Clear it to start from the beginning. - Copy the link you need (these links are never locked, not even in the free preview): the clean link, the youtu.be link, the regular-player link for a Short or the embed URL. Open tries it in a new tab.
- For a list of times, paste them under Timestamps to links, one per line with or without a title, choose the format and, with a pass or after unlocking this result, copy or download it.

Common uses
- Sending a friend or colleague straight to the part of a long video that matters.
- Sharing tidy links in newsletters, chats and documents without the share tracking.
- Posting a table of contents with clickable times on Discord, Reddit, a blog or course notes.
- Opening a Short in the normal player to pause, scrub, slow it down or turn on captions.
- Getting the embed URL for an iframe, with or without privacy-enhanced mode.
What a clean link keeps and removes
A clean link keeps only what changes what opens:
v: the video (or the ID in a youtu.be, Shorts, live or embed address).t: the start time, in seconds.start=from embeds,time_continue=and#t=1m30sare read and turned intot.listandindex: the playlist and the video’s place in it, if you keep the playlist.lc: a linked comment, which YouTube highlights at the top of the comments.
Everything else is removed: si (added when you copy a link with the Share button), pp, feature, ab_channel, app, campaign tags such as utm_source, and anything else in the address. None of them is needed to open the video or to start it at a time.
Start times
On YouTube itself, Share → Start at gives a link that starts at a time (YouTube Help). The links here do the same with t= and a whole number of seconds, which you can type as 1:23, 1:02:03, 83, 83s or 1m23s. Embedded players use start= instead, “a positive integer” number of seconds (YouTube player parameters); players jump to the nearest keyframe, so playback can begin a moment before the exact second.
A Shorts address (/shorts/ID) carries no start time, so for a Short the time goes on the regular-player link (watch?v=ID&t=…), which opens it like a normal video, and on the youtu.be link. A YouTube Music link gets no start time either: use the regular YouTube link to start a song at a time.
Embed URLs and privacy-enhanced mode
The embed URL is what goes in the src of an <iframe>: https://www.youtube.com/embed/VIDEO_ID. With Privacy-enhanced mode the domain becomes www.youtube-nocookie.com, which, in YouTube’s words, prevents views of embedded content from influencing the viewer’s browsing experience on YouTube (YouTube Help). The same page explains that an embed URL opened straight from the address bar can show error 153: test it inside a web page. For the full <iframe> code with size, captions and other options, use the YouTube Embed Code Generator.
Limitations
- Nothing is sent to YouTube, so the tool cannot check that a video exists, is public or is longer than the start time you choose.
- Times are whole seconds. Clip links already play their own part of a video, so they get a clean link only.
- YouTube Music and Shorts addresses get no start time; their regular youtube.com links carry it instead.
- Watch later and Liked videos are private lists; links to them keep only the video.
- Channel and playlist links are cleaned, but start times and timestamp links need a video.
- MySmartCoPilot is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube.

Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, YouTube Timestamp Link Generator & Link Cleaner shows the first lines of the linked timestamp list (up to 20); the cleaned links of your video are never locked. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment unless you choose automatic renewal, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
How do I link to a specific time in a YouTube video?
Paste the video’s link here and type the time, for example 4:02. Copy the youtu.be link (https://youtu.be/ID?t=242) or the full link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ID&t=242): both start at 4:02.
What is si= at the end of YouTube links?
It is added when you copy a link with YouTube’s Share button. YouTube does not document what it contains, and the video plays the same without it, so the clean link leaves it out.
How do I watch a YouTube Short in the normal player?
Paste the Short’s link and use the Regular player link: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ID becomes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ID, which opens the same video with the normal timeline, speed and caption controls.
Why turn timestamps into links if YouTube already links them?
In a video’s description and comments YouTube makes times like 4:02 clickable by itself. Elsewhere (chats, forums, documents, course notes or your own site) a time is plain text, so each one needs its own link.
Is anything I paste sent anywhere?
No. Links are read and built in your browser and nothing is sent to YouTube or to MySmartCoPilot. The page also works offline once it has loaded.
