About the Report Card Generator with School Logo (Marks Sheet to PDFs)
Turn one marks sheet into a report card for every student. Set up your school’s layout once — the subjects, the terms or exams with their parts and maximum marks, the grading scale, co-scholastic areas and discipline, attendance, remarks and ranks — download the blank marks sheet made for that layout, fill in one row per student, and choose it here. Every figure is worked out from the sheet, the same way every time: the marks of each part, term totals, subject totals, percentages, grades and ranks. Nothing is guessed: a mark that cannot be read is listed with its row and column, and that student waits until it is fixed.
The cards carry your school’s own name, address, logo and signatures, in A4 or US Letter, with the class results beside them. Download all the cards as one PDF to print, a ZIP of one PDF per student, or the class results as a spreadsheet — with a Premium pass; without one the page shows a free preview of the first cards. The marks are read on this device and never uploaded or saved.
How to use it
- Under School, fill in the school’s name and address, the title and session line, and add your logo and the signatures.
- Under Layout, start from a layout (two terms in the CBSE classes VI–VIII structure, exams in columns, or one exam), then edit the subjects, the terms and their parts, the grading scale and what the card shows.
- Under Marks, download the blank marks sheet, fill in one row per student — marks, AB for absent, EX where a part was not assessed, grades, attendance as
118/124, remarks — and choose it here; every problem is listed with its line. - Step through the cards and check the class results, then download all the cards as one PDF, one PDF per student or the class results with a Premium pass; without one the page shows the free preview of the first cards.
Examples
English, Term 1: Periodic Test 9, Notebook 4.5, Subject Enrichment 4.5, Half Yearly Exam 76 English, Term 2: Periodic Test 9, Notebook 5, Subject Enrichment 4.5, Yearly Exam 71
Term 1: 94 / 100, grade A1 · Term 2: 89.5 / 100, grade A2 (89.5% counts as 90%, in the 81–90 band)
Six subjects, Unit Test 1 (25), Half-Yearly (80), Unit Test 2 (25), Annual (80); a student scores 1,173 of 1,260
Total 1173 / 1260 · Percentage 93.10% (93.095… rounded half up) · Rank in class 1 of 4
English: Written 70 / 80, Practical AB (of 20) · Maths: Written EX (of 80), Practical 20 / 20
English 70 / 100 · Maths 20 / 20 · total 90 / 120 = 75%: AB counts as 0, EX leaves that part out of the maximum
Common uses
- Term-end and annual report cards for a whole class, section or school.
- Progress reports for coaching institutes and tuition classes with their own tests.
- Unit test result cards with ranks and class averages.
- A class teacher’s results sheet with every student’s total, percentage, grade and rank.
How every figure is worked out
- Totals: the parts of a term add up to the term’s marks, the terms to the subject’s total, the subjects to the student’s total. Marks may have halves or two decimals; they are added exactly.
- AB (absent) counts as 0 marks out of that part’s maximum; EX (or NA, ML, a dash) leaves the part out of both the marks and the maximum. A lone A is reported rather than guessed: it could mean absent or a grade.
- Percentages are worked out from the exact fraction and rounded half up to the decimals you choose: 1,173 of 1,260 is 93.0952…% and prints as 93.10%.
- Grades are looked up on the percentage rounded to a whole number, half up: 90.5% counts as 91% and 90.49% as 90%.
- Ranks compare each student’s exact percentage in the class (or the section). Equal results share a rank and the next rank is skipped (1, 2, 2, 4). A student with a problem in the sheet is left out of the cards and the ranks until it is fixed.
The CBSE classes VI–VIII layout
This layout follows the structure in the CBSE circular on a uniform system of assessment, examination and report cards for classes VI–IX: two terms of 100 marks each — a periodic test (10), notebook submission (5), subject enrichment (5) and the half-yearly or yearly exam (80) — graded on its 8-point scale: 91–100 A1, 81–90 A2, 71–80 B1, 61–70 B2, 51–60 C1, 41–50 C2, 33–40 D, 32 and below E (needs improvement). Work education, art education, and health and physical education, and discipline, are graded each term on a 3-point scale: A (outstanding), B (very good) and C (fair). Every part stays editable, so check your school’s current scheme — CBSE publishes its circulars at cbseacademic.nic.in.
Other boards and your own grading scale
For any other board or a school’s own scheme, choose Exams in columns or One exam per subject, or write your own terms, one per line: Unit Test 1: 25 for a single exam, or Annual: Written 70, Practical 30 for an exam with parts. For grades, choose Your school’s own scale and type one band per line — its lowest percentage, the grade and an optional meaning, such as 91 A1 or 0 E Needs improvement; the lowest band must start at 0. No grades prints marks and percentages only.
The marks sheet
The blank sheet has one column for each part of each subject in each term, such as English | Term 1 | Periodic Test (10), then the co-scholastic areas, discipline and attendance of each term, remarks, the result and the class the student is promoted to. Roll No. and Name are needed; Class, Section, Admission No., Date of Birth and the parents’ names print when filled in. Attendance is the days present and the working days, as 118/124 (or two columns, Days present and Working days). Grades must be on your co-scholastic scale (A, B, C by default). A column that does not belong to the layout is reported and left out; a missing one stops the cards until it is added, so download the blank sheet again after changing the layout.
Your school’s own cards
The cards carry your school’s name, address, logo and signatures only: no board’s, university’s or government’s logo or seal is drawn or offered. Titles such as “Report Card”, “Progress Report” or “Progress Card” are fine; a board’s marks statement, a transfer or leaving certificate or a degree cannot be made here. Until the school’s name and address are filled in, every card prints SAMPLE.
Limitations
- Up to 15 subjects, 6 terms or exams and 22 columns of marks fit on one page; very wide layouts print better in landscape.
- The marks are kept only while the page is open: keep your sheet, and choose it again after a reload.
- Names and remarks in scripts without a font here (Arabic, Chinese …) print as “?” in the PDF.
- Long names, subjects and remarks are set smaller or on more lines to fit. Text that still does not fit ends in “…”: the page says so for the card on screen, and after a download it lists every card concerned.
- The figures are exactly what the sheet holds: check a few cards against your register before printing a whole class.

Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, Report Card Generator with School Logo (Marks Sheet to PDFs) shows the first report cards (up to 3) as images marked “MySmartCoPilot preview · not for use” and the first rows of the class results; the rest are counted. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded. A Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
How are the grades worked out?
From the percentage of each term (or subject, or the whole card), rounded half up to a whole number and looked up on the grading scale you choose: with the CBSE classes VI–VIII scale, 91–100 is A1, 81–90 A2, down to 32 and below, E. So 89.5% counts as 90% and gets A2.
Can I use my school’s own grading scale?
Yes. Choose Your school’s own scale and type one band per line with its lowest percentage, the grade and an optional meaning — for example 90 A+ Outstanding. Choose No grades to print marks and percentages only.
What do AB and EX mean in the marks sheet?
AB means the student was absent: the part counts as 0 marks out of its maximum. EX (or NA, ML or a dash) means the part was not assessed for that student: it is left out of both the marks and the maximum, so the percentage is worked out on what was assessed.
How are ranks decided when two students have the same result?
Ranks compare exact percentages. Students with the same percentage share a rank and the next rank is skipped: 1, 2, 2, 4. You can rank within the class or within each section, or print no ranks.
Are my students’ marks uploaded anywhere?
No. The sheet is read in your browser and the marks never leave this device; they are not saved in the browser either, so they are gone when you close the page.
Can I put the board’s logo on the card?
The tool places only your school’s own logo and signatures. It has no board, university or government logos or seals.
Can the report cards show names in Hindi or another Indian language?
Yes. Names, subjects, remarks and the school’s details in Devanagari, Bengali, Gurmukhi, Gujarati, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam print with fonts for that script and correctly joined letters.
