About the Workout Plan Maker for Trainers (branded PDF and phone pictures)

A programme builder for personal trainers and strength coaches. Lay out 1 to 12 weeks of training days, pick exercises from a library of line drawings made for this site (squats, deadlifts, presses, rows, pulldowns, carries, core work and stretches) or add your own with a photo, and write sets × reps, the load, RPE or reps in reserve, tempo and rest for each one. Join exercises into supersets, add your progression rules, and print it on your branding with the client’s name.

Loads can be a weight or a percentage of the client’s one-rep maximum: the tool works out the weight from a 1RM you tested or estimated from a set, rounds it to your plates, adds your weekly step and lowers deload weeks. The PDF ends with a training log — a column for every week with the planned load in grey and room for the client to write what they did — and QR codes to your own demo videos. You write every programme: the tool makes no plan for you, and nothing leaves your device.

            How to use it

            1. Fill in Your letterhead once (gym or brand, your name, certification and logo; it is kept on this device), then the client’s name, the goal, the length in weeks and the units.
            2. Start from a template (beginner full body, push-pull-legs, upper/lower or home without equipment) or from an empty day, and name each training day.
            3. Add exercises from the Picture library or type your own; for each, write the sets, reps, load, effort (RPE or RIR), tempo and rest. Tick Superset with the exercise above to join two or more.
            4. For loads in % of 1RM, add the client’s lifts under Client’s 1RM — a tested 1RM, or a set (weight × reps) to estimate it — and choose the lift on each exercise.
            5. Add a weekly step (for example +2.5 kg or +2.5 % a week), deload weeks and your progression rules; check the preview on the right.
            6. With a Pro pass, or after unlocking this plan, press Download PDF, Phone pictures (one picture per training day), Copy as text or CSV; the free preview shows the plan as marked page images. Save the plan, or save it as a template for the next client.

            Examples

            A load from % of 1RM
            Input
            Bench press 1RM 70 kg · 75% · round to 2.5 kg
            Result
            52.5 kg

            70 × 75 ÷ 100 = 52.5 kg, already a multiple of 2.5.

            A 1RM estimated from a set
            Input
            Back squat: 80 kg × 5 reps
            Result
            Epley 93.3 kg · Brzycki 90 kg · mean 91.7 kg

            Epley: 80 × (1 + 5 ÷ 30) = 93.33. Brzycki: 80 × 36 ÷ (37 − 5) = 90.

A weekly step with a deload week
            Input
            50 kg, +2.5 kg a week, deload in week 4 at 70%
            Result
            Week 1 50 kg · week 2 52.5 kg · week 3 55 kg · week 4 37.5 kg · week 5 57.5 kg

Week 4 is 70% of 55 kg = 38.5 kg, rounded to 37.5 kg; week 5 carries on from week 3’s steps.

            Common uses

            • Personal trainers sending a client a printed or WhatsApp programme with their gym’s branding.
            • Strength coaches writing percentage-based blocks with weekly steps and deload weeks.
            • Gyms giving members a standard programme card that each trainer adapts.
            • Online coaches who want a clean PDF and log sheet without a monthly subscription to a coaching platform.

            How loads are worked out

            • % of 1RM: weight = 1RM × percentage ÷ 100, rounded to the nearest multiple of your plate step (0.5, 1, 1.25, 2.5 or 5 kg; 1, 2.5, 5 or 10 lb). Without the lift’s 1RM the plan prints the percentage only.
            • A 1RM from a set: the Epley equation, weight × (1 + reps ÷ 30), the Brzycki equation, weight × 36 ÷ (37 − reps), or the mean of the two — the equations of the One Rep Max Calculator, which compares seven published ones. Use a set of 1 to 12 reps; estimates from more than about 10 reps are less reliable.
            • Weekly step: added once for every training week after the first, in your units for a weight and in percentage points for a % load.
            • Deload weeks: the load is your deload percentage of the week before, and the steps carry on afterwards as if the deload week had not been there.

Supersets and the order of exercises

Exercises are lettered in order: A, B, C… Exercises joined with Superset with the exercise above share a letter — B1, B2 — and are shaded in the plan, with a line explaining that they are done one after the other before resting. The same works for a circuit of three or more.

            The training log

After the training days the PDF has a log for each day: a row for every exercise and a column for every week (in blocks of six), with the planned load in grey and room to write the load and reps done. Switch it off under Client and plan to print only the loads by week (when they change) — or neither, when the loads stay the same.

            Pictures, photos and stick figures

The drawings are simple stick figures made for this site: a light start position, a dark end position and an arrow along the movement. You can use your own photo instead, or turn a photo into an anonymous stick figure with MediaPipe Pose Landmarker running in your browser, so no face is printed. Untick Pictures in the plan for a text-only plan.

            Templates

The four starting points are common programme layouts with sets, reps and rest filled in and no loads: a two-session beginner full-body plan, push-pull-legs, an upper/lower split and three bodyweight circuits for home. They are not advice for any client: change every exercise and number. Your own plans can be saved as templates (without the client’s name, 1RMs and photos) to start the next client’s plan.

            Limitations

            • It does not write programmes or judge them: no generator, no suggestions for a client. The trainer decides every exercise and number.
            • 1RM estimates from a set are estimates; tested maxes, technique and the day’s readiness matter more.
            • Up to 7 training days, 14 exercises a day and 12 weeks per plan.
            • The drawings show a movement in simple lines, not exact technique or joint angles.
            • Plans, photos and templates are kept in this browser on this device; download plan files to keep copies or move them.

            Privacy

Everything stays in this browser on your device: client names, 1RMs, plans, photos, stick figures and templates (IndexedDB and localStorage). The pose model runs on the device; PDFs and pictures are made on the device and are never uploaded.

            Frequently asked questions

What do I get without a pass?

Without a pass, Workout Plan Maker for Trainers (branded PDF and phone pictures) shows every page and phone picture as images marked “MySmartCoPilot preview · not for use”, with the worked-out loads on them hidden. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded, copied or shared. A Pro or Premium pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.

Does the tool write the programme for me?

No. It is a document builder: you choose the exercises and write the sets, reps and loads. The templates are empty structures for you to change, and nothing is suggested for a client.

How is a percentage of 1RM turned into a weight?

Weight = 1RM × percentage ÷ 100, rounded to your plate step. With a 1RM of 100 kg, 72.5% is 72.5 kg. Add the client’s 1RM under Client’s 1RM and choose that lift on the exercise.

Which 1RM formula is used for a set?

            You choose: Epley, w × (1 + r ÷ 30); Brzycki, w × 36 ÷ (37 − r); or the mean of both. Both are shown for every lift, so you can compare them.

Can I plan loads that go up every week?

Yes: give the exercise a weekly step (for example 2.5 kg) and, if you like, deload weeks. The plan and the training log show the planned load of every week.

            Can I use pounds?

Yes. Choose lb under Units: every load, step and 1RM is converted, and the plate steps change to 1, 2.5, 5 or 10 lb.

Can clients watch my demo videos?

Paste a link to your own video for an exercise or for the whole programme; the PDF prints QR codes under “Exercise videos” that a phone camera opens.
