Check exactly what is affected
No match does not prove a product is safe. An unavailable, delayed, partial or differently indexed source can miss a recall. A textual match does not prove your individual item is affected. Read the model, serial, lot and date range and the official action. Never change prescribed medicine or medical-device use without professional advice.
Vehicles use separate road-safety records. Use NHTSA’s official vehicle recall checker.

About the Product & Food Recall Checker (US and UK)
Check US CPSC consumer-product recalls, US FDA food, drug and device enforcement reports, UK GOV.UK product-safety notices and UK Food Standards Agency food/allergy alerts. Compare the exact affected product and batch scope, reported hazard and official action. Every retrieved public warning remains readable; a collated multi-product report has a separate result preview.
How to use it
- Enter the public product, brand or model terms and select the official sources and optional date range.
- Confirm the direct official-API search consent, then search or re-check all saved products. Stop is available during a check.
- Read every source status, exact affected scope, hazard and official notice. An incomplete or empty source never establishes safety.
- Add an owned-product list or import a complete home inventory locally. Save it encrypted or retain a complete input backup.
Official sources and scope
CPSC recall records, FDA enforcement data, GOV.UK product-safety notices and FSA food-alert API reference have different history, indexing and record fields. The tool retains all requested returned pages and reports failures, changing counts or repeated identities. FDA browser cursor visibility and documented offset limits are handled explicitly; no global recall census is claimed.
The UK product-safety notices and food alerts come from GOV.UK and the Food Standards Agency. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
What a match means
Compare the actual brand/model, serial/date code, UPC, food pack/batch and current notice scope. FDA enforcement records can lack a consumer remedy; the tool says so rather than inventing a refund or treatment. FSA withdrawn notices remain labelled. Older FSA archive history and separate vehicle/medicine sources need their official routes.
Limitations
- No match does not prove safety, compliance or that a product was never recalled.
- Official rate limits, network/CORS refusal, schema changes, missing dates and source-history gaps can leave checks incomplete.
- Public recall data is not medical advice. Read official action and consult a qualified professional before changing a prescribed medicine or device.
Privacy
Sends data to online services
Owned products and complete encrypted backups stay on this device. Only the consented public product/brand/model/date search terms go directly to selected official APIs; no serial, photo, address, price or private inventory note is uploaded. Official notice links open only when you choose them.
Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, Product & Food Recall Checker (US and UK) shows initial generated report rows; full generated reports and exports require a pass; complete original inputs and public safety guidance stay available. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Does an empty result mean my product is safe?
No. A source can be incomplete, unavailable, delayed or indexed differently. Verify the exact product and current official notice; absence of a textual match is never a safety verdict.
Does inventory import send my private inventory to an agency?
No. Import reads the complete file locally and copies only product names, brands and models into the owned-product list. Direct searches require your consent; serials, photos, prices, address and private notes are excluded.
Why is a remedy sometimes not stated?
Some enforcement records report the recall reason and status without a consumer remedy. The tool links the exact official record and asks you to obtain the applicable action instead of inventing a refund, replacement or medical instruction.
