PDF to Excel Converter
Turn tables in a PDF into a spreadsheet — columns you can fix, numbers that add up.

About the PDF to Excel Converter
Open a PDF and the tables in it are found for you — both tables drawn with lines and tables laid out with spaces, like most bank statements and invoices. Each table appears as an editable grid, and Adjust columns shows it on a picture of the page, so you can move, add or remove the column dividers until every value sits in the right column, fix any cell by typing, and then download an Excel workbook (.xlsx) or CSV.
Amounts become real numbers that you can sum and sort: Indian grouping (1,23,456.78), international (1,234,567.89), European (1.234.567,89 or 1 234 567,89), negatives in brackets and percentages are all understood. Everything runs in your browser; the PDF is never uploaded.
How to use it
- Drop a PDF onto the box above, or tap Choose a PDF. Password-protected statements open after you type the password.
- Check each table found. Open Adjust columns to drag the red column dividers on the page image, add a missing one, or remove an extra one — the grid updates as you go.
- Fix individual cells by clicking them and typing. Untick Include in the download for tables you don’t want, and tick Continues the previous table to join a table that runs over several pages (repeated header rows are dropped).
- Press Download Excel (.xlsx) for a workbook with one sheet per table (or all tables on one sheet), or Download CSV.
Examples
05/09/2026 Salary for August 85,000.00 1,93,750.00
credited by employerDate: 05/09/2026 · Description: Salary for August credited by employer · Credit: 85000 · Balance: 193750
The wrapped second line is joined to its row. The amounts are stored as numbers, and because the PDF writes them in lakhs, the column gets a lakh/crore number format, so Excel shows 1,93,750.00.
(2,500.00) 12.5% 1.234,50
-2500 (shown as (2,500.00)) 0.125 (shown as 12.5%) 1234.5
Common uses
- Turning a PDF bank or card statement into a spreadsheet to categorise spending or reconcile accounts.
- Copying price lists, rate cards or product tables from a supplier’s PDF.
- Getting figures out of annual reports, tenders and government data released only as PDF.
- Moving invoice line items into Excel for checking GST totals or importing into accounting software.
How tables are found
- Ruling lines: horizontal and vertical lines that cross form the grid. Cells with no line between them are kept as merged cells in Excel.
- Text alignment: when there are no lines, a block of rows that all leave the same vertical gaps free is a table; the gaps become column dividers, placed clear of descriptions that wrap onto a second line. Lines whose first column is empty (wrapped descriptions) are joined to their entry — the row above, or the row they are centred on, as in many bank statements — unless you switch that off. A line with an amount of its own, such as a second transaction on the same date, stays a separate row.
Two columns of ordinary running text are not treated as a table. When a guess is wrong, the column editor is the quick fix: dividers snap the words left and right of them into separate columns.
How numbers are converted
In Detect per column, each column chooses between a dot and a comma as the decimal separator from the values that can only be read one way (12,5 must be a decimal comma, 1,234.50 a decimal dot). Undecided columns follow the rest of the document. Currency signs and codes (₹, Rs., INR, $, €, £) are removed, and negatives written -12, −12, (12) or 12- all become negative numbers.
Values that only look numeric stay text so nothing is lost: numbers with leading zeros such as 007, digit strings longer than 15 digits (card and account numbers), dates and times. Choose Keep as text to turn conversion off.
Limitations
- Scanned statements and photos contain no text, only a picture of it — run them through OCR PDF first, then convert the searchable PDF.
- Very complex layouts — tables inside tables, rotated tables, or columns that only line up approximately — may need the dividers adjusted by hand.
- Merged cells are kept for tables drawn with lines; a table found from text alignment never has merged cells.
- Charts and images are not converted: only text that is part of a table is written to the spreadsheet.
- CSV has no formatting. In CSV files and copied tables, cells that begin with =, +, - or @ and are not numbers get a leading apostrophe so spreadsheet apps do not run them as formulas.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to convert my bank statement here?
The statement is opened and converted inside your browser, on your device. It is not uploaded or stored anywhere, and the password (if it has one) is used only to open the file.
Why are some numbers left-aligned (text) in the grid?
Right-aligned cells will be numbers in Excel; left-aligned ones stay text. A value stays text when it has a leading zero, has more than 15 digits, or mixes in letters — or when the column uses a format the detector could not decide. Pick the right format under Numbers to force it.
The columns are wrong. How do I fix them?
Open Adjust columns under the table. Drag a red divider to where a column really starts, use Add column divider for a missing one, or select a divider and press Delete. You can also move a selected divider with the arrow keys.
Can it combine a table that continues over many pages?
Yes. A table on the next page with the same columns is joined automatically, and its repeated header row is dropped. Untick Continues the previous table to keep them separate.
Will Excel show amounts in lakhs and crores (1,23,456)?
Yes, when the PDF writes them that way. Excel’s standard number formats group digits in thousands, so such columns get the custom format [>=10000000]##\,##\,##\,##0.00;[>=100000]##\,##\,##0.00;##,##0.00. An Excel format can hold only two conditions, so negative amounts in those columns are shown with ordinary 123,456 grouping, and amounts of 100 crore or more keep their extra digits in the first group (123,45,67,890.00). The stored values are exact either way.
