About the Online Database Maker (No-Code Tables & Views)
Make a database of your own in the browser, without an account: bases of tables with typed fields — text, numbers, currencies, percentages, dates and times, durations, checkboxes, single and multiple selects, ratings, web addresses, emails, phone numbers and attached files — and links between tables, with lookups, rollups (sum, count, average, smallest, largest, unique values) and formulas written like a spreadsheet’s (IF, AND, OR, SUM, ROUND, CONCAT, TEXT, DATE, EDATE, DATEDIF, NETWORKDAYS and about 150 more).
See each table as a grid (filter, sort, group, hide and freeze fields, a summary row), a kanban board, a calendar, a gallery of cards with cover pictures, a timeline from start to end dates, or a form that adds records. Start from a template — a CRM, a content calendar, an inventory, a reading list, an event plan or an applicant tracker — or import a CSV, Excel or JSON file. Everything stays on this device, in the browser’s own storage.
How to use it
- Use the base you see first, start from a template, or Import a CSV, Excel or JSON file: each column gets the type its values suggest.
- Type in the grid: arrow keys move, Enter or typing edits, and a block copied from a spreadsheet pastes into the cells. Click a field’s name to rename it, change its type or delete it, and + to add one.
- Link tables with a Link to another record field, then add lookups, rollups and formulas that use it.
- Add views with + View: kanban, calendar, gallery, timeline or a form. Customise view chooses their fields; Filter and Sort narrow and order them.
- Under Base and backups, download a backup (or an encrypted one) and the CSV of any view at any time; with a pass, also download a view as an Excel file or a PDF to print — without one, those stay locked in the free preview.
Examples
The CRM template: Companies, Contacts and Deals, linked
A pipeline board of deals by stage, close dates on a calendar, and each company’s total and weighted deal value as rollups.
Products with In stock, Reorder at and Unit cost
The formula IF({In stock} <= {Reorder at}, "Reorder now", "OK") flags what to order; {In stock} * {Unit cost} gives the stock value.A Guests table with Name, Email and RSVP
A form view that adds a record for every answer, with required questions and a thank-you message.
Common uses
- Customers, deals and follow-ups for a small business or a freelancer.
- Stock, orders and suppliers; equipment and who has it.
- Content plans, reading lists, collections, recipes and event plans.
- Applicants and interviews; members, volunteers and sign-ups through a form.
Fields, links and formulas
- Changing a field’s type keeps every value that converts (text to numbers, dates or options; options to text) and says beforehand how many cannot, which are cleared.
- Links go both ways: linking a contact to a company lists the contact on the company too.
- Lookups show a field of the linked records; rollups add them up, count them, average them or list their unique values.
- Formulas name fields in braces — {Price} * {Quantity} — and keep working when a field is renamed. Dates count as days (so {Due} - TODAY() is the days left), a percentage as a fraction and a checkbox as TRUE or FALSE.
Where your data is kept
Bases are saved in this browser’s storage (IndexedDB) a moment after each change; other tabs of the tool follow along. Nothing is uploaded and you don’t need an account: a base is on this device and this browser only, so keep a backup file, which opens on any device with Restore a backup. An encrypted backup is locked with your password in the browser (AES-256-GCM, with a key made from the password by PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 with the 600,000 rounds OWASP recommends); without the password it cannot be opened. Browsers may clear a site’s storage when space runs low: Ask the browser to keep the data requests persistent storage, and the page warns when storage is nearly full.
Limitations
- A base holds up to 50,000 records, 50 tables and 200 fields per table; attached files up to 10 MB each.
- There is no sharing and no live collaboration: a base lives in one browser on one device (move it with a backup).
- A form view adds records in this browser; it is not a form other people can fill in from their own devices.
- Formulas use spreadsheet functions on one record at a time; functions that need whole columns or other sheets are not available.
- In the free preview, the kanban, calendar, gallery and timeline views show the first 20 records, the form adds records while its table holds fewer than 20, lookups, rollups and formulas show their values for the first 20 records of each table, and the Excel and PDF files need a pass.

Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, Online Database Maker (No-Code Tables & Views) shows your tables, records, grid view and backups in full; the other views, lookups, rollups and formulas on the first 20 records. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Bases, records and attached files are kept in your browser’s own storage on this device, and the page works offline once it has loaded. Backups are files you download yourself.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
The bases are deleted with it, like any site’s stored data. Download a backup now and then; it restores everything, attached files included when you choose so.
Can I bring in data from a spreadsheet or another app?
Yes: Import takes CSV and Excel files, tables pasted from a spreadsheet, and JSON lists of records, including the CSV exports of other table and notes apps (their “checked” and “Yes” become checkboxes, “a, b” lists become multiple selects).
Which formula functions work?
About 150 spreadsheet functions: logic (IF, IFS, AND, OR, SWITCH), maths (SUM, ROUND, ABS, MOD), text (CONCAT, LEFT, UPPER, TEXT, SUBSTITUTE) and dates (TODAY, DATE, EDATE, EOMONTH, DATEDIF, NETWORKDAYS, WORKDAY). The field’s settings show the result for the first record as you type.
How do I make a kanban board or a calendar?
Press + View and choose Kanban (it needs a single select field, such as Status, for its columns) or Calendar (it needs a date field). Customise view changes which field they use.
