What is in the photos?

Canvas
px
px
How much of the canvas the subject’s longer side takes. Amazon asks for 85%.

A subject the photo cuts off at the bottom, such as a portrait from the waist up, always sits on the bottom edge, without a shadow.

Background
File

{name} original name · {n:2} 01, 02 … · {w}, {h} size. For Amazon’s bulk upload use {name}.MAIN with photos named by ASIN or SKU.

Edges
Shrink by 1–2 px to remove a light or dark fringe.

The AI runs in your browser: photos are never uploaded, and the files you save carry no EXIF data or GPS location.

Cut-outs

Add photos to start. Each one is cut out on your device with the settings on the left, then you can touch any of them up before downloading them all as a ZIP.

    Touch up

Keyboard: M, R and E choose a tool; with Keep or Erase chosen and the photo focused, the arrow keys move the brush (Shift: faster) and Enter paints; + and − zoom; Esc closes without applying.

About the Bulk Background Remover (Batch, Full Resolution)

Drop up to 200 photos and cut every one out with the same settings: a white 2000 × 2000 square with the product filling 85% (Amazon’s main-image rule), Shopify’s 2048 × 2048, a transparent PNG or WebP, a white JPG under a KB limit, your brand colour or a blurred background. Products land in the same place on every canvas, optionally on a soft contact shadow, and the files get names from a pattern such as {name}.MAIN or SKU-{n:2}.

The AI runs in your browser: MODNet for people and U²-Netp for products and other objects — the same open models (Apache-2.0) as the Background Remover — with edges refined along the photo’s own detail. Check the results in the grid, fix any photo with the Keep and Erase brushes, then download everything as one ZIP. Nothing is uploaded, and the saved files carry no EXIF data or GPS location.

    How to use it

    1. Drop your photos on the box or select Choose photos (JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC or TIFF; up to 200).
    2. Choose Products & objects or People, and an Output preset — Amazon, Shopify, transparent, white under a KB limit, brand colour or blurred. Every preset only fills in the settings below it, so you can change the canvas, product fill, background, shadow, format and file names.
    3. Select Remove backgrounds. The first time, the AI engine and the model are downloaded from this site; then each photo is cut out on your device, one at a time.
    4. Look through the grid. For a photo that needs help, select Touch up and paint with Keep (bring back parts of the subject) or Erase (remove leftover background), then Apply. The arrows button tries the other model on that photo.
    5. Select Download ZIP. Change a setting afterwards and Apply the new settings re-makes every file without running the AI again.

60 product photos on a table · Products & objects · Output: Amazon main image · File names {name}.MAIN
    Result
60 JPGs of 2000 × 2000 px, each product centred on pure white (#FFFFFF) and filling 85% of the frame, named like B0C1234567.MAIN.jpg
    Transparent cut-outs for a designer
    Input
25 photos of shoes · Output: Transparent PNG — cropped round the subject
    Result
25 PNGs trimmed close to each shoe, with transparent backgrounds
A marketplace that limits file size
    Input
    Output: White JPG under 200 KB · square 1600 × 1600 px
    Result
Every file under 200 KB at the highest JPG quality that fits, on pure white
Team headshots on one brand colour
    Input
12 portraits · People · Output: Brand colour, #F4EFE6, product fill 80%, stand on the bottom margin
    Result
12 square headshots, each person the same size on the same warm background, the shoulders on the bottom edge (a person cut off by the photo is never left floating)

    Common uses

    • Catalogue photos on pure white for Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho and other marketplaces.
    • Square, consistent product images for a Shopify or WooCommerce store.
    • Transparent PNG cut-outs for designers, slides and printed flyers.
    • Team headshots on one brand colour for a website or ID cards.
    • Replacing a credit-based background-removal service for regular batches.

Marketplace image rules behind the presets

    • Amazon: the Seller Central product image guide asks for main images on a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), with the product filling 85% of the image and the whole product in the frame. Images need 500 to 10,000 px on the longest side; 1,000 px or more turns on zoom. Bulk uploads read file names made of the product identifier, the variant code and the extension, such as B000123456.MAIN.jpg.
    • Shopify: the Shopify Help Center says square product images usually display best at 2048 × 2048 px, up to 5000 × 5000 px and 20 MB.
    • Flipkart and Meesho publish their image rules inside their seller panels rather than on public pages, so no preset claims them: use the 1000 × 1000 square or set the size, background and KB limit your panel shows.

A soft shadow adds grey pixels under the product; leave it at 0% where a store asks for a pure white background.

    Moving from remove.bg

remove.bg has announced that its standalone website is closing: its FAQ says background removal is moving into Canva and API access to Leonardo.ai, names the date the self-service API stops, and says unused pay-as-you-go credits expire then. It also asks account holders to export their credit usage report and invoices from the account page before the shutdown — do that first.

What carries over to this tool:

    • Batches: drop a folder’s worth of photos (up to 200 at a time) instead of uploading them; you pay no credits per image and the photos stay on your device.
    • Full-resolution downloads: files are saved at the photo’s own size up to 16 megapixels on a computer (8 on a phone), or at the canvas size you choose — never a small preview.
    • Output choices: transparent PNG or WebP, white or coloured backgrounds, blurred backgrounds, cropping round the subject and fixed marketplace squares.
    • Not here: an API for automated uploads, and the AI backgrounds and scenes some services generate. MySmartCoPilot has no background-removal API; for single photos with a new background picture, use the Background Remover.

Which model, and how to get clean edges

    • Products & objects uses U²-Netp, the small version of U²-Net (Qin et al., Pattern Recognition), which finds the most prominent object in the photo — products, pets, plants, cars.
    • People uses MODNet (Ke et al., AAAI), a portrait-matting model that handles hair and shoulders well.
    • If a photo comes out wrong, select the arrows button on its card to try the other model, or Touch up to paint the mask yourself.
    • Follow fine edges refines the model’s edge along the photo’s own detail (a colour guided filter) — keep it on for hair and fur. A thin light or dark fringe usually means the edge includes a little background: set Shrink or grow to −1 or −2 px.
    • Start from sharp photos where the subject stands out from the background in colour or brightness; glass, smoke and objects the colour of the background are the hardest.

    Limitations

    • Up to 200 photos at a time; photos larger than 16 megapixels (8 on phones and tablets) are cut out at that size, and the card says so.
    • The models can miss parts of a subject or keep bits of background: check the grid and touch photos up. Glass, smoke, wispy hair against busy backgrounds and subjects the colour of the background are hard.
    • The first run downloads about 19 MB (products) or 27 MB (with the people model); later runs use your browser’s cache.
    • Results and touch-ups stay only while this page is open — download the ZIP before you close it. Large batches use a lot of memory on phones: work in batches of up to 50 there.
    • One subject per photo is placed on fixed canvases: for group shots or several products, use the photo-size or crop outputs.

    Privacy

Your photos are processed in your browser and never sent to a server. The first run downloads the AI engine and a model from MySmartCoPilot — not from a third party — then your browser’s cache serves them. Saved files contain no EXIF data from the originals, such as the camera or GPS location.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are my photos uploaded?

No. The AI models run in your browser and the files are made on your device; only the models are downloaded from MySmartCoPilot, once.

How do I get Amazon-ready white backgrounds?

Choose Products & objects and the Amazon main image output: each product is cut out, centred on pure white (#FFFFFF) at 2000 × 2000 px and scaled to fill 85% of the frame. Leave the shadow at 0%. Use {name}.MAIN as the file name pattern if your photos are named by ASIN or SKU.

One photo came out wrong. Do I have to start again?

No. Select Touch up on its card and paint with Keep or Erase, or select the arrows button to try the other model. Only that photo is made again.

Can I change the background after the cut-outs are made?

Yes. Change any setting — background, canvas, product fill, format — and select Apply the new settings: the files are re-made from the masks already found, without running the AI again.

Is the result at full resolution?

Yes — at the photo’s own size up to 16 megapixels on a computer (8 on a phone), or at the canvas size you choose. Products smaller than the canvas needs are enlarged, and the card tells you when a larger photo would be sharper.

Is this a replacement for remove.bg?

For batches of photos you process yourself, yes: it cuts out, places and saves photos at full resolution without credits or uploads. It has no API for automated workflows. See Moving from remove.bg above for what its FAQ says about its shutdown.
