Higher removes more of the backdrop; lower keeps more of the product.
Keyboard: with the picture focused, the arrow keys move the pointer (Shift: faster) and Enter keeps the object under it.
In (−) removes a light or dark fringe; out (+) brings back a lost edge.
2 · Background
A table, a shelf, a garden or any scene you photographed yourself.

The studio, colour, gradient and your-own-photo backgrounds work in any case.
An empty place or surface, its light and mood — never people. Only this description is sent; your photo stays on your device.

About the AI Background Generator for Product Photos
Set a product photo in a new scene without a new photo shoot. The product is cut out on your device — from a plain backdrop by its colour (no AI needed), by an AI model that finds the product by itself, or by tapping it — then placed on a studio sweep, a colour, a gradient or your own photo, standing on a natural contact shadow, a drop shadow or a reflection. Move it, size it and choose a square, portrait, story or banner frame.
The product's own pixels are only moved and scaled, never redrawn, so it looks exactly as it is. Two optional touches change them slightly and stay off until you choose them: an edge light that lets the scene's light wrap round the outline, and a colour match that warms or cools the product the way the scene's light would.
AI scenes — a backdrop described in words, such as "an empty marble counter in soft morning light" — are made by MySmartCoPilot's cloud AI from the description alone; your photo is never sent. Before your photo goes into an AI scene it is checked on your device for nudity and for people, because AI scenes are made only for products. Without a pass you see a free preview of your own result, and the full-size file and AI scenes need a Pro pass.
How to use it
- Add a product photo: drop it on the box, choose it or paste it. A product photographed on a plain sheet, wall or table works best.
- Choose how to cut it out: Plain backdrop reads the colour at the photo’s edge (no AI needed), Automatic lets an AI model on your device find the product, and Tap the product keeps the object you tap. Check the cut-out, then adjust the tolerance or the edge.
- Pick a background — Studio, Colour, Gradient, Your photo or an AI scene you describe in words — and its colours, light or blur.
- Choose the frame size, then place the product: drag it in the picture or use the sliders, and pick a shadow and its strength.
- Choose JPG, PNG or WebP, then Download or Copy image — with a pass, or after unlocking this result.
Examples
A bottle photographed on white paper · Plain backdrop · Studio, Warm beige · Contact shadow · Portrait 4:5
A 1080 × 1350 JPG: the bottle standing on a warm beige studio floor with a soft shadow under its base.
Automatic · Studio, Charcoal · Reflection · Square 2000 × 2000
A 2000 × 2000 PNG with the watch mirrored faintly in the floor below it.
A cushion · Tap the product · Your photo: a sofa photographed at home, blur 12 px · Drop shadow
The cushion placed in your own scene, which is softly out of focus behind it.
Cutting the product out
- Plain backdrop: for a product on a plain sheet, wall or table. The colour at the edge of the photo is the backdrop, and everything joined to the edge within the tolerance is removed, so a white label on a red bottle stays. No AI is needed.
- Automatic: an AI model finds the main object in the photo and its edge is refined along the photo’s own detail. It runs on your device, and the first time it takes a moment to get ready.
- Tap the product: an AI model on your device keeps the object you tap — useful when the photo has several things in it.
- Already cut out: a PNG or WebP with a transparent background keeps its own outline. For fine touch-ups with a brush, cut the product out in the Background Remover first and add that PNG here.
- Edge: move the edge in by a pixel or two to remove a light or dark fringe, or out to bring back a lost edge; soften it so it blends into the scene.
Scenes, shadows and light
- Studio: a wall that curves into a slightly darker floor, as on a photographer’s paper roll, with a soft light behind the product and darker corners. Eight colour pairs, or your own wall and floor colours, and where the wall meets the floor.
- Colour and Gradient: a plain colour, or two colours top to bottom, corner to corner or from the middle out.
- Your photo: any scene you photographed yourself — a table, a shelf, a garden — blurred as much as you like so the product stands out.
- Contact shadow: a soft shadow under the product’s base, as wide as the part it stands on, with a darker line where it touches the floor. Drop shadow: the product’s outline, blurred and offset. Reflection: the product mirrored and fading in a glossy floor.
- Edge light and colour match (both off at first) slightly change the product’s own pixels; keep them low where its exact colour matters.
AI scenes
- Describe a place, not a person: an empty counter, a tabletop, a podium, a garden, a beach. Descriptions that ask for people are refused, so a real product is never set beside an invented person; the scene chips are ready-made descriptions you can edit.
- What is sent: only the style and the description, to MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI, which checks the request, makes a square scene, checks the scene again (also for any person in it) and sends it back. Nothing is stored. Your photo is never sent.
- Your photo is checked on your device first: for nudity and for people, before it is placed in an AI scene. A photo with a person, or one the check can’t clear, keeps the studio, colour, gradient and your-own-photo backgrounds.
- Labelled: the finished photo carries the visible AI-edited · MySmartCoPilot label and machine-readable AI marks in the file, with no option to leave them out.
- With a pass: an AI picture can’t be made at a smaller preview size first, so AI scenes need a Pro pass; the other backgrounds work in the free preview.
Using the photos in listings
Product photos in a scene suit social posts, ads, banners and a listing’s extra photos. If your marketplace asks for the main listing photo on plain white, keep a white-background photo for that, and check its image rules before you upload. Never use a scene to suggest something about the product that isn’t true — where it is sold, what it comes with or how it is made.
Limitations
- A product with fine hair, fur or see-through parts (glass, smoke, lace) may keep a little of its old background or lose part of its edge; check the cut-out, or use the Background Remover’s brush first.
- The shadow is drawn from the outline, not from the real lighting: match its direction and softness to the scene by choosing the kind and strength.
- Your own background photo is enlarged to fill the frame; a small photo looks soft at large sizes, which the blur hides.
- Photos are worked on at up to 2,048 pixels on the longer side and saved at up to 4,096 pixels.
- AI scenes are made only for products: a photo with a person, or one the check on your device can’t clear, keeps the other backgrounds. The check can also refuse a harmless photo; try another photo of the product.
- An AI scene is square; a portrait or banner frame shows it filled and cropped, and the daily capacity for AI pictures is shared by everyone (it starts again at 00:00 UTC).
Privacy
Cloud AI only if you choose it: you see what is sent first
Your photo, the cut-out and the finished picture stay on your device: nothing is uploaded. The AI models of the automatic and tap-to-select cut-outs and of the photo check run on your device; their files come from MySmartCoPilot the first time and stay in your browser. Only an AI scene’s description is ever sent — to MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI — and MySmartCoPilot doesn’t store it.
Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, AI Background Generator for Product Photos shows the finished photo at preview size (up to 640 pixels) with a MySmartCoPilot watermark; AI scenes are made only with a pass. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Is my product photo uploaded?
No. The cut-out, the check of your photo and the finished file are all made in your browser. The only thing that can ever be sent is the text of an AI scene’s description.
Does the AI change my product?
No. AI only ever makes the backdrop, from words, and never sees your photo. The product’s pixels are moved and scaled into the frame; the optional edge light and colour match are the only changes to them, and they stay off unless you turn them on.
Why can’t my photo get an AI scene?
Before your photo is placed in an AI-made scene it is checked on your device for nudity and for people, because a real person should never be placed in a scene that never happened. A photo with a person, or one the check couldn’t clear, keeps the studio, colour, gradient and your-own-photo backgrounds. AI scenes also need a pass, and they can be paused at any time; the page says so when they are.
Which sizes can I make?
Square 1080 × 1080 and 2000 × 2000, portrait 4:5 (1080 × 1350), story 9:16 (1080 × 1920), landscape 16:9 (1920 × 1080), the photo’s own size, or any custom size from 200 to 4,096 pixels a side.
Can I use a product that is already cut out?
Yes. A PNG or WebP with a transparent background keeps its own outline when you choose Plain backdrop, for example a cut-out saved from the Background Remover.
Is the AI-made scene labelled?
Yes. A photo with an AI scene carries the visible AI-edited · MySmartCoPilot label and machine-readable marks in the file (the IPTC digital source type for a composite with AI-made parts), with no option to leave them out. A photo with a studio, colour, gradient or your own background has no label.
