About the Product Photo Maker (White Background)

Make a marketplace main image from one product photo. The product is cut out — from a plain backdrop by its colour, which needs no download, or with an AI model that runs on your device and finds the product by itself or picks the object you tap — then placed on pure white (RGB 255, 255, 255), centred and scaled to span 85 % of the frame, with an optional soft shadow. The presets follow Amazon’s main-image rules and Shopify’s recommended size, and each result is checked against them: the white of the saved file’s edge, how much of the frame the product spans, the pixel size for zoom, the format and the file size.

Touch up the cut-out with Keep and Erase, choose JPG or PNG and a size limit if your store has one, and name the file the way Amazon reads it (B000123456.MAIN.jpg). Download or copy the image with a pass, or after unlocking this result. Everything happens on your device: your photo is never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Add a product photo: drop it on the box, choose it or paste it.
  2. Choose how to cut it out: Plain backdrop for a photo on a white, grey or coloured sheet (nothing to download), Automatic to let the AI find the product, or Tap the product and tap it in the photo. A PNG that is already cut out — with a transparent background, as the Background Remover saves it — keeps its own outline with Plain backdrop.
  3. Check the cut-out. Adjust the tolerance (plain backdrop) or the edge, and paint with Keep or Erase where something is missing or left over.
  4. Choose a preset — Amazon, Shopify or a square — or your own size, fill and background, and a shadow if your store allows one. Read the checks under the image.
  5. Choose JPG or PNG, then Download or Copy image — with a pass, or after unlocking this result.

Common uses

  • Main images for Amazon listings that follow its pure-white, 85 % rule.
  • Consistent square product photos for a Shopify or WooCommerce store.
  • Product photos for marketplaces with their own size and file limits, set by hand.
  • Catalogue photos on a brand colour, with a soft shadow, for a website or social posts.

The marketplace rules behind the presets

  • Amazon (Seller Central: product image requirements): the main image needs a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), shows the product as 85 % of the image and in full, and has 500 to 10,000 pixels on its longest side; 1,000 pixels or more turns on zoom, and small images should not be enlarged artificially. Images need at least 72 dpi — every file here is marked 72 dpi — and JPEG is recommended (TIFF, PNG and non-animated GIF are accepted). File names are the product identifier, the variant code and the extension, separated by periods: B000123456.MAIN.jpg.
  • Shopify (Help Center: product media types): square product images usually display best at 2048 × 2048 pixels; images can be up to 5000 × 5000 pixels and must be smaller than 20 MB; PNG is the best file type for most product images, followed by JPEG.
  • Flipkart, Meesho and other marketplaces: no preset here claims to follow their rules. Choose Custom and enter the size, background and file-size limit your seller panel shows.

Here “85 % of the image” is the share of the frame the product spans on its longer side: on a 2000 × 2000 canvas, a tall bottle is 1700 pixels tall. Because Amazon’s main image must have a pure white background, its preset has no shadow; a shadow suits your own store and other images.

How the product is cut out

  • Already cut out: a photo whose edge is mostly see-through (a PNG with a transparent background) keeps its own outline and soft edges with Plain backdrop; nothing is keyed out.
  • Plain backdrop: the backdrop’s colour is read from the photo’s edge — the median of a border 2 % wide, in CIELAB, so a product that touches one edge does not change it. A pixel is backdrop when its colour difference from it (ΔE, the CIELAB distance) is under the tolerance and it connects to the photo’s edge through other backdrop pixels, so white parts of a product on a white backdrop stay. Soft edge fades the boundary; Shadows on the backdrop counts darker patches of the backdrop’s colour as backdrop; Remove specks clears small leftovers; Through holes also clears backdrop seen inside a handle or ring.
  • Automatic runs an AI model on your device that finds the main object in the photo; its outline is then refined along the photo’s own edges.
  • Tap the product uses an AI model on your device to select the object under your tap: useful when the photo holds more than one thing.
  • With every method, Edge moves the outline in or out by a few pixels (in removes a light or dark fringe), and Keep and Erase paint the cut-out by hand.

Taking a photo that cuts out well

  • Use a plain backdrop that differs from the product: white card or paper curved up behind it (a sweep) for most products, grey or black for white ones.
  • Light it softly from both sides, so the backdrop is even and the product casts little shadow; daylight from a window and a white card on the other side work well.
  • Leave space round the product and keep all of it in the photo — the checks warn when it touches the photo’s edge.
  • Fill most of the photo with the product and keep it sharp: for a 2000-pixel image at 85 %, the product needs about 1700 pixels on its longer side, and an enlarged product looks soft (the checks say so).

Limitations

  • One photo at a time. For many photos with the same settings, the Bulk Background Remover (a Premium tool) makes them in one go.
  • The plain-backdrop cut-out needs a backdrop whose colour differs from the product’s edges; where they match, use Automatic or paint with Keep.
  • AI cut-outs can miss thin or see-through parts (straps, glass, fur) or keep a little background: check the edge and touch it up.
  • Products are placed as photographed: colours, scratches and dust are not retouched.
  • HEIC/HEIF photos open directly in Safari. Other browsers first download the HEIC decoder (1.4 MB, LGPL-3.0) from this site, once.
  • Amazon, Shopify, Flipkart and Meesho are trademarks of their owners. MySmartCoPilot is not connected with them, and each marketplace decides what it accepts.

Privacy

On this device; its files download once

Everything happens in your browser. What you enter or open here is not uploaded or stored by MySmartCoPilot. The automatic and tap-to-select cut-outs download the AI engine and a model from this site the first time (about 19 MB, or 18 MB for tap-to-select); the plain-backdrop cut-out downloads nothing. Your photo is never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

What do I get without a pass?

Without a pass, Product Photo Maker (White Background) shows the finished photo at preview size (up to 640 pixels) with a MySmartCoPilot watermark, and every marketplace check in full. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.

What does “85 % of the image” mean here?

The product’s longer side, compared with the frame, spans 85 % of it. On a 2000 × 2000 canvas a tall bottle is 1700 pixels tall and a wide laptop 1700 pixels wide, centred, with 150 pixels of white on each side of that longer side. You can change the fill for other stores.

Is the background really pure white?

Yes. The background is drawn as RGB 255, 255, 255, and the checks read the saved file back and count how much of the frame’s edge is exactly that colour — so you see it is still pure white after JPEG compression.

Which cut-out method should I use?

Plain backdrop for photos on a sweep or a plain sheet: it is instant, downloads nothing and keeps fine edges. Automatic for other photos: the AI finds the main product. Tap the product when several things are in the photo. All three can be touched up with Keep and Erase.

Can I add a shadow?

Yes: a soft contact shadow under the product, or a drop shadow of its outline. Amazon’s main image must have a pure white background, so the checks flag a shadow with that preset; for your own store or other images, a light shadow makes products look grounded.

How do I name files for an Amazon upload?

Type the product identifier (an ASIN, UPC, EAN, ISBN, GTIN or JAN) and choose the image — MAIN, PT01 to PT08 or SWCH. The file is then named the way Amazon reads it, such as B000123456.MAIN.jpg.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The photo is cut out and saved by your browser, on your device. The AI methods download their engine and model from this site the first time; nothing of your photo is sent anywhere.
