About the Architect & Interior Designer Fee Proposal Generator
Build a proposal and generic appointment letter for architectural or interior-design services. Describe the parties, project and services at concept, preliminary, approval, working-drawing, tender, supervision and completion stages. Charge a percentage of project cost, a rate per square metre or square foot, or a lump sum; edit the payment percentages until they add to exactly 100%.
The fee and its tax are allocated to stages in currency minor units so the schedule adds to the rounded totals. Reimbursable expenses, visits, revision limits, client obligations and appointment terms stay explicit. Currency and the initial tax category follow your country; every tax rate is yours to enter. A Pro pass opens the clean PDF, DOCX and accepted-fee handoff to the Invoice Generator.
How to use it
- Enter the professional, client, project, proposal reference, jurisdiction and currency. Confirm the local tax category and rate.
- Choose percentage, per-area or lump-sum fee. For a per-area fee, use the same unit for quantity and rate.
- Edit each included service stage and payment percentage. Set excluded stages to 0%; the included percentages must add to exactly 100%.
- Add reimbursables and choose whether each is taxable. Enter site visits, revisions, additional visit fees, payment days and the client's obligations.
- Review the marked proposal. With a Pro pass export a clean PDF or DOCX; mark the proposal accepted before handing its fee lines to the Invoice Generator.
Examples
USD 1,000 fee, entered tax 10%, plus USD 100 non-taxable reimbursables.
Fee and tax USD 1,100; total estimate including reimbursables USD 1,200.
The tax percentage is an arithmetic example, not a country tax rule.
Fees and payment rounding
Percentage fee = entered project cost × fee percentage / 100. Area fee = entered area × rate in the same area unit. A lump sum is used directly. Stage amounts use largest-remainder allocation in currency minor units. Tax is rounded on the combined fee and selected taxable expenses, with the expense share apportioned to preserve that group total. Reimbursables remain separate.
Practice guidance and appointment review
Consult the Council of Architecture professional documents and India Code for the governing professional framework where applicable. The supplied drafting weights are illustrative and editable, not a mandatory fee tariff. This generic appointment requires local legal and tax review.
Accepted fees to an invoice
After acceptance, the unlocked handoff creates a local invoice draft with the whole accepted professional fee, expense lines, entered tax, parties and proposal reference. The stage percentages are retained in notes. The Invoice Generator asks you to check its number, dates, tax registration and payment details before issuing it. Storage must be available for this local handoff; the proposal remains available if storage is blocked.
Limitations
- Generic template — not legal or tax advice. Have a local professional review enforceability, registrations, services and tax treatment.
- Every fee and tax rate is entered by you. Illustrative stage percentages are not Council of Architecture rates.
- Site supervision is only the service scope you describe; this letter does not confer authority approval, certification or unlimited site attendance.

Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, Architect & Interior Designer Fee Proposal Generator shows your proposal as marked pages with shortened template wording and masked computed fees; clean PDF, DOCX and invoice handoff are locked. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded, copied or opened in another app. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Are the stage percentages mandatory?
No. They are editable drafting weights. Align scope, deliverables and payment milestones with the professional guidance and terms that apply to your appointment.
Why are expenses outside the stage fee?
Stage percentages allocate the professional fee only. Reimbursables are separately described and taxed only where you select that treatment.
Will handing off a proposal issue an invoice?
It creates an editable local invoice draft after you mark acceptance. It sends nothing and charges nobody; review the draft before issuing it.
