A picture PDF is made on your device as one file; its pages are pictures, so the text can’t be selected.
For a PDF with real, selectable text, press Save as PDF, then in the print dialog:
- Set Destination (or Printer) to Save as PDF — on Windows you can also pick Microsoft Print to PDF.
- Keep Margins on None or Default and Scale at 100%: the pages already have their size and margins.
- If slide backgrounds are missing, tick Background graphics (under More settings in Chrome and Edge).
- Safari before version 18.2 prints on the paper chosen in its own dialog; there, use the picture PDF for pages at the slide’s size.

About the PowerPoint to PDF Converter (PPTX to PDF)
Choose a PowerPoint presentation (.pptx, .ppsx or .potx) and lay it out as a PDF the way PowerPoint prints it: slides (one page per slide at the slide’s own size), handouts with 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or 9 slides on each A4 or Letter sheet — three a page with ruled lines for notes — or notes pages with each slide above its speaker notes. Hidden slides are left out unless you include them, and a presentation that has its own print settings saved opens with them.
The slides are drawn on your device by the same reader as our Office Document Viewer, with their themes, layouts, pictures, tables and charts, and nothing is uploaded. With a pass, or after unlocking this result, Save as PDF uses your browser’s own PDF printer, so the words stay real, selectable text; a picture PDF that downloads in one step is there too. Without a pass the free preview shows the first pages under a watermark, with the page count of the whole PDF.
How to use it
- Choose a
.pptxfile or drop it on the box. On a phone, save the attachment from WhatsApp or your e-mail app first, then pick it from Files or Downloads. - Pick Slides, Handouts (and how many slides per page, the order and the paper) or Notes pages, and which slides to include.
- Check the preview. With a pass, or after unlocking this result, press Save as PDF and choose Save as PDF as the printer for a PDF with selectable text, or download the picture PDF.
Examples
Lecture 4.pptx · 27 slides · Handouts · 6 per page · A4 portrait · across, then down
5 A4 pages, slides 1–6 on the first; the PDF is named “Lecture 4 (handouts, 6 per page).pdf”
Pitch.pptx · 12 slides, notes on 9 · Notes pages · Letter
12 or more Letter pages: each slide on the upper part, its notes below, long notes going on to a page of their own
Review.pptx · 16:9 (13.33 × 7.5 in)
One 13.33 × 7.5 in page per slide, as PowerPoint saves a PDF
Common uses
- Sending a presentation as a PDF that opens the same on every phone and computer, when PowerPoint is not installed.
- Printing handouts for a class, a workshop or a board meeting, with lines for notes.
- Rehearsing from notes pages, or sharing the speaker notes with a colleague.
- Turning a client’s deck into a PDF to review, sign or merge with other documents.
Slides, handouts and notes pages
These are PowerPoint’s own print layouts, which a presentation file also names in its print settings (Office Open XML, ECMA-376: slides, handouts of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or 9 slides, notes).
- Slides: one page per slide at the slide’s own size — a widescreen 16:9 slide is 13.33 × 7.5 in, a 4:3 slide 10 × 7.5 in.
- Handouts: slides scaled onto A4 or Letter with half-inch margins, framed if you like; three a page puts ruled lines beside each slide (under each in landscape). With 4, 6 or 9 a page you choose whether they run across, then down, or down, then across.
- Notes pages: the slide across the upper part of a portrait page and its speaker notes below in 12 pt; notes that do not fit go on to a following page labelled as continued, so none are cut off.
Selectable text or a picture PDF
Save as PDF hands the laid-out pages to your browser’s print dialog: the PDF keeps every word as text you can select, copy and search, and its pages have the right size in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari 18.2 or later. The picture PDF is drawn page by page on your device at 150, 220 or 300 DPI and downloads as one file; it looks the same in every viewer, but its text is part of the pictures.
Privacy
The presentation is unpacked and drawn by this page on your device; nothing is sent to MySmartCoPilot or anyone else. Before anything is shown, every part of the file is unpacked with a size limit, so a disguised “zip bomb” is refused instead of freezing your browser, and nothing inside the file runs — macros and embedded objects are only noted.
Limitations
- Fonts that are not on your device are replaced with look-alikes (Calibri with Carlito or another sans-serif), so a line can break differently than in PowerPoint; the page lists the fonts it could not find.
- Animations, transitions, audio and video are left out: every shape is drawn where it sits, and a video shows its poster picture.
- Pictures in EMF or WMF format can’t be drawn by browsers and appear as labelled boxes; charts are redrawn from their saved values in a simpler style, and 3-D effects and shadows are drawn flat.
- Legacy PowerPoint 97–2003 (
.ppt) files and password-protected presentations are not opened: save them as an unprotected.pptxfirst. The outline print layout is not offered. - Safari before version 18.2 prints on the paper chosen in its own dialog rather than at the slide size; the picture PDF keeps the slide size there.

Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, PowerPoint to PDF Converter (PPTX to PDF) shows the first pages of the PDF (up to 3) as page images under a MySmartCoPilot watermark, with the page count of the whole file. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or printed. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Is my presentation uploaded?
No. The file is read and laid out in your browser, and the PDF is written on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
Will the text in the PDF be selectable?
Yes, with Save as PDF: your browser writes the words as text, so they can be selected, copied and searched. The picture PDF is made of page pictures, so its text is not selectable.
How do I print 6 slides per page?
Choose Handouts, then 6 slides under Slides per page, and A4 or Letter paper. Three per page gives ruled lines beside each slide for notes.
Are hidden slides included?
Not unless you tick Include hidden slides, as in PowerPoint’s print dialog — or type their numbers in the Slides box. A presentation saved with “print hidden slides” on opens with it ticked.
Can I convert an old .ppt file?
Not directly. Open it in PowerPoint, LibreOffice Impress or Google Slides, save it as PowerPoint Presentation (.pptx), then convert that file here.
The print dialog adds a date and a web address at the top. How do I remove them?
Turn off Headers and footers in the print dialog (under More settings in Chrome and Edge). The page numbers of handouts and notes pages are part of the pages and stay.
