Follower counts

The date and the follower count on that day: at least two, in any order. Counts like 14.7K or 1.2M work too.

Paste from a spreadsheet a date and a count on each line

One day a line, the date first (2026-01-31, 31/01/2026 or Jan 31, 2026), then the count. A header line is skipped.

Leave it empty for your next milestone.

About the Follower Growth Rate Calculator

Enter two or more follower counts with their dates — from your profile, an analytics export or the notes you keep — and see how fast the account grows: the growth rate over the period, the average gain a day, a week and a month, and the compounded growth rate a day, a week, a month and a year. Each interval between two counts gets its own row, so a month that sped up or slowed down stands out.

Set a target, or leave it empty for your next milestone (10,000, 25,000, 50,000 …), and the calculator says when you reach it at the same gain a day and at the same compounded rate, from the whole period or from your most recent interval, with a chart and the counts 1, 3, 6 and 12 months on. It works for followers, subscribers or members on any platform, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

Without a pass, the free preview shows the growth rate in full, with the first rows of each table, the first step of the working and the chart marked as a preview; the other figures, the projections and the copy and CSV need a Pro pass.

    How to use it

    1. Enter the date and the follower count of at least two days: the start and the end of the period. Add more rows for the counts in between (one a week or a month works well). Counts like 14.7K or 1.2M are read too.
    2. Or open Paste from a spreadsheet and paste two columns, the date and the count, one day a line.
    3. Type a target, or leave it empty for the next milestone, and choose whether the projections follow the whole period or the most recent interval.
    4. Read the growth rate, the gains, the compounded rates and the projections, with the chart and the table of intervals.
    5. With a Pro pass, or after unlocking this result, use Copy summary or Download CSV for your notes or a report.

    Examples

    One quarter on Instagram
    Input
    12,400 followers on 1 January 2026 · 14,680 on 3 April 2026 (92 days)
    Result
    Growth rate +18.39% (+2,280)
    Gain +24.78 a day · +173.48 a week · +754.31 a month
    Compounded +5.74% a month
Next milestone 25,000: in 291 days compounded, in 417 days at the same gain a day
The same 10% every 100 days
    Input
    1,000 on 1 January 2026 · 1,100 on 11 April · 1,210 on 20 July · target 2,000
    Result
    Growth rate +21% · compounded +2.94% a month
2,000 in 528 days compounded (30 December 2027), in 753 days at the same gain a day (11 August 2028)

Both intervals grew by 10%, so the compounded rate of each interval and of the period is the same; the gain a day grows with the account (1 a day, then 1.1).

    Common uses

    • Checking whether a new content plan made the account grow faster than before.
    • Putting a month-by-month growth rate in a report for a client or a brand.
    • Seeing when a YouTube channel reaches 1,000 subscribers, or an Instagram account 10,000 followers, at today’s pace.
    • Comparing the most recent month with the quarter or the year before it.

How the figures are worked out

    • Growth rate = (last count − first count) ÷ first count × 100: 12,400 → 14,680 is +18.39%.
    • Gain a day = (last count − first count) ÷ the days between them; a week is 7 days and a month 30.436875 days (the average month of 365.2425 ÷ 12 days).
    • Compounded growth = (last count ÷ first count)^(1 ÷ days) − 1 a day, the compound annual growth rate formula with the period in days. A month compounds the daily rate over 30.436875 days and a year over 365.2425, so the rates agree with each other.
    • Days to a target at the same gain a day = (target − last count) ÷ gain a day; at the same compounded rate = ln(target ÷ last count) ÷ ln(1 + rate a day). Both are rounded up to the first whole day on which the target is reached.

The page shows every formula with your own numbers under How this was calculated.

Linear or compounded: which projection to trust

At the same gain a day the account adds the same number of followers every day; at the same compounded rate it grows by the same share every day, so the gain itself grows with the account. Accounts that grow by sharing and recommendations often look compounded for a while, and most slow down as they get bigger, so the real date usually falls between the two, or after both.

Choose most recent interval to project from your latest pace instead of the whole period: after a viral post or a quiet month the two differ a lot. The more counts you enter, the clearer the pattern in the table of intervals.

    Getting good counts

    • Note the count on the same day of each week or month, at about the same time.
    • Use the follower total, not the followers gained in a period: an analytics export of gains needs adding up first.
    • Platforms remove fake and inactive accounts from time to time, which shows up as a sudden drop; a giveaway or a bought promotion shows up as a jump. Both are part of the count, so a period without them gives a truer pace.
    • The calculator takes up to 500 counts and any number of followers up to a trillion.

    Limitations

    • Projections assume that the pace of the period goes on unchanged; real growth rarely does. Treat a date months or years away as a direction, not a promise.
    • A percentage and a compounded rate need a first count above 0; from 0 followers only the gains a day, a week and a month are worked out.
    • Counts must be on different days. Two counts on one day are reported so you can keep one.

    Frequently asked questions

What do I get without a pass?

Without a pass, Follower Growth Rate Calculator shows the follower growth rate in full, with the first rows of each table, the first step of the working and a watermarked chart; every other figure is hidden. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.

How do I calculate my follower growth rate?

Take the followers you gained over a period, divide by the followers you had at its start and multiply by 100. From 12,400 to 14,680 followers is (14,680 − 12,400) ÷ 12,400 × 100 = 18.39%. The calculator does the same for any dates, and adds the gain a day and the compounded monthly rate so periods of different lengths compare fairly.

What is a good follower growth rate?

There is no single number: it depends on the platform, the niche, the size of the account and how often you post, and small accounts usually grow faster in percentage terms than large ones. The fairest comparison is with your own history: enter several counts and see whether your recent intervals beat the earlier ones.

What is the compounded monthly growth rate?

The share by which the account would have to grow every month, compounding, to go from the first count to the last over the period: (last ÷ first)^(30.436875 ÷ days) − 1. Unlike the plain growth rate, it does not grow with the length of the period, so a 92-day period and a 200-day period can be compared directly.

Why are the two projections so different?

The linear one adds the same number of followers every day; the compounded one grows by the same percentage every day, so its gain keeps growing with the account. The further away the target, the wider the gap between them.

Does it work for subscribers, members or page likes?

Yes. Any count that goes up and down over time works: YouTube subscribers, newsletter subscribers, Discord or WhatsApp community members, page likes or followers on any platform.

    Are my numbers uploaded?

No. The calculation runs in your browser, and the page works offline once it has loaded.
