About the Merge Photo and Signature
Some application forms take the photo and the signature as one image. Add both, choose whether the signature goes under the photo or beside it, and get one JPG on a white background. The signature is cropped to its ink, its paper made white and its ink dark — the clean-up of the Photo & Signature Resizer — and the file is kept inside the KB range you type, at the best JPG quality that fits.
Everything happens in your browser: neither picture is uploaded.
How to use it
- Add the photo, then the signature (signed on white paper with a dark pen and photographed flat).
- Choose Under the photo or Beside it, the width in pixels and, if the form gives one, the smallest and largest size in KB.
- Check the preview and the size, then Download JPG — with a pass, or after unlocking this result.
Examples
Photo · photo of a signature · Under the photo · 300 px · largest 50 KB
One 300 px wide JPG of at most 50,000 bytes: the photo on top, the signature centred under it on white.
Photo · signature · Beside it · 600 px
The photo on the left and the signature on the right, as tall as the photo.
How the two are placed
- Under the photo: the photo fills the width; the signature sits in a white band under it, three tenths of the width tall, centred and kept in shape.
- Beside it: the photo takes a little over half the width on the left; the signature is centred on the right, as tall as the photo.
- A thin white margin runs round both, so nothing touches the edge.
Check your form’s own instructions for the layout it wants; the width here sets the pixel size, and the height follows from the photo’s shape.
Signature clean-up
The signature is found on its paper and cropped with a little white round it. With Make the signature’s paper white and its ink dark on, shadows and grey or yellow paper turn white and the ink gets darker and sharper, as in the Photo & Signature Resizer. Turn it off for a signature that is already clean, such as one drawn with the Signature Maker.
File size
Leave the size fields empty for the best quality. With a range, the JPG is at most the largest × 1,000 bytes and at least the smallest × 1,024 bytes, so it passes whichever way a form counts a kilobyte; a file that comes out too small is padded with invisible bytes, and the picture stays the same. JPGs are written with MozJPEG, an encoder built for small files.
How this compares
- Runs on your device: your photo and signature are never uploaded.
- See it before you pay: the free preview shows your merged image with a MySmartCoPilot watermark. The JPG you download with a pass, or after unlocking it, carries only your photo and signature.
- You don’t need an account: no sign-up, no email address and nothing to install.
Limitations
- The result is a JPG on white; transparent areas become white.
- The clean-up works best on dark ink on plain paper; lined or coloured paper may leave marks.
- Only the form decides what it accepts: follow its layout, pixel and KB rules.
Privacy
Both pictures stay in your browser and are never uploaded. Only the width and the layout you chose are remembered on this device.
Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, Merge Photo and Signature shows your merged JPG at preview size (at most half its pixels), with a MySmartCoPilot watermark across it, and its real pixel size and KB checks. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
How do I merge my photo and signature into one image?
Add the photo and the signature and choose Under the photo or Beside it. The signature is cropped to its ink and cleaned up, and both sit on one white background; the JPG downloads with a pass, or after unlocking that result.
Can I make the merged image under 50 KB?
Yes: type 50 in Largest size. The JPG is saved at the highest quality whose file is at most 50,000 bytes. If it cannot get that small, make the width smaller.
My signature is on a white background already. Should I clean it?
You can turn the clean-up off; the signature is still cropped to its ink. Clean-up helps most with phone photos of paper, which are often grey or shadowed.
Are my pictures uploaded?
No. Both are combined in your browser, and the page keeps working offline once it has loaded.
