About the Photo & Signature Resizer for Exam Forms
Get your photo, signature, thumb impression and handwritten declaration ready for an online application in one go. Choose the exam — IBPS (PO, Clerk, SO, RRB), SBI (PO, Junior Associates), UPSC, SSC, RRB, NTA (NEET, JEE Main, CUET), GATE, the PAN card paper form or Kerala PSC — and the tool sets the pixel size (or centimetres at the right DPI), the minimum and maximum file size in KB and the JPG format. Crop, and the file is compressed into the allowed range automatically.
Signatures and impressions photographed on paper are cleaned up: the paper turns white, the ink dark, shadows disappear, and the frame can snap to the ink. Photos can carry your name and the date at the bottom where an exam asks for it. Every preset shows the rules as the official notification states them, links that notification — and every number can be changed, because the rules change from one recruitment to the next. Nothing is uploaded.
How to use it
- Choose your exam and the document: photo, signature, thumb impression, declaration or finger impressions. Read the rules shown, and check them against your own notification (the link is right there).
- Add the picture: a photo from your phone, a scan, or a screenshot. For signatures, sign on plain white paper with a black pen and photograph it flat in daylight.
- Adjust the frame: drag it, resize it from the corners, turn or straighten the picture. Photos show an oval guide for your face; signatures can snap to the ink with Crop to the ink.
- Check the result: its pixel size, file size in KB and DPI are listed with a tick or a warning. Select Download JPG, then make the next document — Download all (ZIP) collects them.

The rules in this tool
- IBPS (CRP PO/MT-XVI, SPL-XVI, CSA-XVI and RRBs-XV) and SBI (PO and Junior Associates 2026): photo 200 × 230 px preferred, 20–50 KB; signature 140 × 60 px, 10–20 KB; left thumb impression 240 × 240 px at 200 DPI (3 × 3 cm), 20–50 KB; handwritten declaration 800 × 400 px at 200 DPI (10 × 5 cm), 50–100 KB; all JPG. A live photo is also taken in the form.
- UPSC: photo and signature JPG, 20–300 KB; the signature is three signatures one below the other in black ink; a live photo is also taken.
- SSC: the photo is captured live in the form (nothing to upload); signature JPG, 10–20 KB, about 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm.
- RRB (CEN 05/2026): live photo; signature JPG, 30–49 KB, at least 140 × 60 px, for a 35 × 20 mm box, scanned at 100 DPI or more.
- NTA (NEET UG, JEE Main and CUET UG 2026): photo JPG, 10–200 KB, with the face (ears visible, no mask) filling about 80%, white background (NEET: taken after 1 January 2026); signature 10–100 KB (CUET: 10–50 KB); NEET finger and thumb impressions.
- GATE 2027: photo 200 × 260 to 530 × 690 px, width ÷ height 0.66–0.89, 5–600 KB, face 60–70%; signature 250 × 80 to 580 × 180 px, height : width 1 : 2.75 to 1 : 3.75, 3–300 KB.
- PAN: for a paper form (Form No. 93, which replaced Form 49A), two colour photos, 3.5 cm × 2.5 cm, printed and pasted — the tool makes an A4 print sheet; for Protean’s online application with scanned images, photo 3.5 × 2.5 cm at 200 DPI up to 20 KB and signature 2 × 4.5 cm at 200 DPI up to 10 KB.
- Kerala PSC: photo 150 × 200 px, at most 30 KB, with name and photo date at the bottom; signature 150 × 100 px, at most 30 KB.
Minimum file sizes, KB and padding
Portals check the file size in KB, but some count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes and others as 1,024. The tool aims for a size that passes either way — at least the minimum × 1,024 bytes and at most the maximum × 1,000 bytes.
A small, clean image such as a 140 × 60 px signature is often only 5–8 KB even at the best JPG quality. Where the rule allows a larger pixel size, the tool adds pixels instead; where the size is fixed, it pads the file with an invisible JPG comment so it reaches the minimum. The picture itself is unchanged, and the result list says how much was added. Untick Pad to the minimum file size to switch this off.
Photos taken live in the form
SSC and RRB do not take an uploaded photo: the application form opens your camera and captures a live photo. IBPS, SBI, UPSC and NTA take both an uploaded photo and a live photo; for NEET the live photo is matched with your Aadhaar photo. For a live photo, sit in front of a plain light wall with light on your face, keep the camera at eye level, take off a cap, mask or glasses, and never hold up an old photo to the camera — such applications are rejected.
A signature that passes
- Sign on plain white paper with a black pen (GATE also allows dark blue), the way you will sign at the exam. Not in capital letters, not initials.
- Photograph it flat, in daylight, with no shadow of your phone; or scan it at 200 DPI or more.
- Use Crop to the ink and keep a little white space around it. Make the paper white and the ink dark fixes grey paper and uneven light.
- Your signature at the exam is compared with the uploaded one: do not use a different style.
Limitations
- Rules change with every recruitment cycle: always check the notification for your exam. You can edit every number.
- Only the exam body decides whether it accepts a photo or signature; this tool sizes and checks the file but cannot guarantee acceptance.
- State PSC rules differ widely; only Kerala PSC is built in — use “Custom size” with the numbers from your notification for others.
- The tool does not change your face or background; take the photo against a plain light wall.
- The clean-up works best on dark ink on plain paper; coloured or lined paper may need a manual crop.
Privacy
Your photos, signatures and impressions stay in your browser; nothing is uploaded or stored. Only your exam choice and the name for the photo strip are remembered on this device.
Frequently asked questions
What size should the photo and signature be for IBPS and SBI?
In the 2026 notifications: photo 200 × 230 pixels (preferred) and 20–50 KB; signature 140 × 60 pixels (preferred) and 10–20 KB; left thumb impression 240 × 240 pixels at 200 DPI and 20–50 KB; handwritten declaration 800 × 400 pixels at 200 DPI and 50–100 KB — all JPG/JPEG.
How do I increase a signature’s file size to 10 KB?
Choose the exam and Signature, add the picture, and the tool raises the JPG quality first. If the file is still below the minimum (common for small, clean signatures), it pads the file with an invisible comment to reach it — the picture is unchanged. The result list shows the final size.
Does SSC still need a photo upload?
No. The SSC CHSL 2026 notice says the application captures a live photo with your camera, and photos of existing photos are rejected. You upload only the signature: JPEG, 10–20 KB, about 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm.
Is 20 KB counted as 20,000 or 20,480 bytes?
Portals differ. The tool keeps the file between the minimum × 1,024 bytes and the maximum × 1,000 bytes, so it passes under both readings, and shows the size both ways.
My exam is not in the list. What do I do?
Choose Custom size and enter the pixel size (or centimetres and DPI) and the KB range from your notification, then add the picture. The same cropping, clean-up and compression apply.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Cropping, cleaning and compressing all happen in your browser, and the files are saved straight to your device.
