Signature Maker
Draw it or type it, and get a clean transparent signature file for any document.
Your signature
Draw with a mouse, finger or stylus. A stylus that reports pressure sets the line width; otherwise slower strokes come out thicker, like a real pen. Using a keyboard? Choose Type.
Download
Your signature will appear here, trimmed to the ink.
Nothing is uploaded or saved: the signature exists only on this page until you download it.
About the Signature Maker
Make an image of your signature to put on letters, forms, Word and Google Docs files, PDFs and emails. Draw it with a mouse, finger or stylus — strokes are smoothed, and the line gets thinner when you move fast and thicker when you slow down, like a real pen (a stylus that reports pressure sets the width directly). Or type your name and pick one of five script and handwriting styles, with slant, letter spacing and an optional underline or swash.
Download it as a transparent PNG (no white box on coloured paper), a vector SVG that stays sharp at any size, or a PNG or JPG on white for forms that ask for one. The file is trimmed to the ink, with the margin you choose. Everything happens in your browser: the signature is not uploaded and not stored anywhere.
How to use it
- Choose Draw and sign in the box — use Undo (Ctrl+Z) or Clear to retry. Or choose Type, enter your name and pick a style.
- Pick the ink colour, and adjust pen width, width variation and smoothing (or slant, spacing and flourish for a typed signature).
- Choose the format, width and margin, then select Download — or Copy image to paste it straight into a document.
Examples
Drawn with a mouse · Black · PNG, transparent · 1200 px · small margin
signature.png, about 1200 × 400 px, ink only — insert it above your typed name
“Asha Rao” · Great Vibes · slant +8° · swash · Blue · SVG
signature-asha-rao.svg — letters as outlines, so it looks the same everywhere without the font
Drawn on a phone · JPG, white background · 600 px
signature.jpg on white; to meet exact pixel and KB limits use the Photo & Signature Resizer next
Common uses
- Signing letters, offer acceptances and declarations prepared in Word or Google Docs
- Adding a signature to a PDF with Sign PDF
- A handwritten-style sign-off for emails and websites (SVG)
- A signature image for online forms (then resize it to the form’s limits)
How the drawing pen works
Each stroke is recorded as points with their time and, for a stylus, pressure. Shaky points are smoothed, the line is drawn as a smooth curve through them, and its width comes from the pressure — or, for a mouse or finger, from the speed: fast movements give thinner lines, the way ink behaves. The width-from-speed curve follows the open-source signature_pad library (MIT licence). The pen settings apply to the whole signature, so you can change the width or smoothing after you have signed.
The outline of the strokes is computed once and used for the on-screen pad, the PNG and the SVG, so all three show exactly the same signature.
Typed signatures
The five styles are Great Vibes, Dancing Script (regular and bold) and Caveat (regular and bold), all free fonts under the SIL Open Font License, served from this site. The letters are turned into outlines, so the SVG needs no font installed and nothing can change the look of your name later. Latin letters with accents work in every style, Vietnamese in Great Vibes and Dancing Script, and Cyrillic in Great Vibes and Caveat. For other scripts, such as Devanagari, draw your signature instead.
An image of a signature is not a digital signature
A signature image shows that you agreed only together with its context — who sent the document, from which email address, and when. It does not identify you cryptographically, and anyone who gets the file could paste it elsewhere, so share it only inside the documents you sign. Where a certificate-based signature is required (for example a DSC or Aadhaar eSign in India), use that instead; Sign PDF explains the difference and PDF Digital Signature adds a certificate signature to a PDF.
Limitations
- This makes an image of a signature, not a certificate-based digital signature.
- Typed signatures cover Latin, Vietnamese and Cyrillic letters only (depending on the style); for other scripts, draw your signature.
- Pressure is used only for styluses that report it (such as Apple Pencil, Surface Pen and Wacom); on touch screens and mice the width follows the speed.
- Exam and government forms often require exact pixel sizes and file sizes: use the Photo & Signature Resizer after downloading.
Privacy
Everything happens in your browser. What you enter or open here is not uploaded or stored by MySmartCoPilot. Drawing works offline. The first time you use Type, the font engine (about 330 KB) and the five signature fonts (about 190 KB in all) are downloaded from this site. Your name and your signature never leave your device.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get a signature with a transparent background?
Choose PNG — transparent background or SVG and download. Only the ink is drawn, so the signature sits on any page colour without a white box. (JPG cannot store transparency, so it always has a white background.)
Is my signature saved or uploaded?
No. It exists only on this page until you download it, and it is gone when you close or reload the page. The tool remembers only your settings (pen, colour, style and format) in this browser.
Which format should I use?
PNG (transparent) for Word, Google Docs, PDFs and most apps; SVG for websites, design apps and print, because it stays sharp at any size; JPG or PNG on white when a form asks for a picture with a white background.
Can I sign with my finger on a phone?
Yes. Draw in the box with your finger; the page does not scroll while you sign inside it. Turning the phone sideways gives a wider box.
Is a drawn or typed signature legally valid?
That depends on the document, the country and what the other side accepts — many accept an electronic signature for everyday agreements, while some documents need a handwritten or certificate-based signature. This tool only makes the image; it is not legal advice. See Sign PDF for an overview.
How do I put the signature into a PDF?
Use Sign PDF: open the PDF, draw or type your signature there (or upload the PNG you made here), place it on the page and save.
