About the Increase Image Size in KB

Some forms refuse a file that is too small: an IBPS photo must be at least 20 KB, a NEET signature at least 10 KB. A small, clean picture such as a signature on white paper often comes out below that even at full JPG quality, and a small photo saved at a normal quality can too. This tool raises the file to the minimum you choose without changing a single pixel: it adds invisible comment blocks inside the JPG, which every image viewer and decoder skips.

Choose 10, 20, 50 or 100 KB (or type any minimum and, if the form has one, a maximum), then add your files. JPGs keep their picture byte for byte; PNG, WebP and HEIC pictures are saved as JPG first, the format forms ask for. Everything happens in your browser: nothing is uploaded. Without a pass, the free preview shows each file’s new size with its picture at preview size and a MySmartCoPilot watermark; in a batch, only the first files are made.

How to use it

  1. Choose the smallest size the form accepts, or Other to type it. Add the largest size too if the form gives one.
  2. Add your files: drop them on the box, choose them, or paste a screenshot.
  3. Each file shows its size before and after, in bytes, KB and KiB. Download it — with a pass, or after unlocking this result — or Download all (ZIP) with a pass.

Examples

A signature that is only 7 KB
Input
7,000-byte JPG · at least 10 KB
Result
A 10,752-byte JPG (10,240 + 512): over 10 KB whichever way a form counts, with exactly the same picture.
A bank-exam photo between 20 and 50 KB
Input
14 KB JPG · at least 20 KB, at most 50 KB
Result
A 20,992-byte JPG: above 20 × 1,024 bytes and far below 50,000.
A photo that is already big enough
Input
35 KB JPG · at least 20 KB
Result
The same file, only without its photo details (camera, date, GPS location).

How the file grows without changing the picture

A JPG file can hold comment blocks next to the picture data. Image viewers and browsers skip them when they show the picture, so adding comment blocks makes the file bigger and leaves every pixel exactly as it was. The tool adds just enough to end 512 bytes above the minimum, never more than your maximum.

Raising the JPG quality instead adds no real detail to a picture that was already compressed, and it changes the pixels slightly. If the form lets the pixel size grow, the Photo & Signature Resizer adds real pixels first and pads only what is still missing.

Forms that set a minimum

From their official rules (check your own notification: rules change from one round to the next).

A minimum and a maximum together

Forms count a kilobyte as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes. A minimum is safe from min × 1,024 bytes and a maximum up to max × 1,000 bytes, so a file in between passes either way: for 20–50 KB that is 20,480 to 50,000 bytes. When a form’s range is narrower than that, the tool meets it for forms that count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes and says so. A file that is already above the maximum is not changed: make it smaller first with Compress Image to KB.

How this compares

  • Runs on your device: your browser does it all; the files are never uploaded.
  • The picture is untouched: a JPG keeps every pixel. The free preview carries a MySmartCoPilot watermark; the file you download with a pass, or after unlocking it, carries only your picture.
  • You don’t need an account: no sign-up, no email address and nothing to install.

Limitations

  • The result is always a JPG: comment blocks are a JPG feature. PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, GIF and BMP pictures are saved as JPG at quality 92 first.
  • Only the file size grows: the pixel size and the picture stay the same. A form that also checks the pixel size needs the right size first (Image Resizer).
  • Up to 100 files at a time. Only the form decides what it accepts.

Privacy

Your files are processed in your browser and never uploaded. With Remove photo details on (the default), the files you download contain no camera details, dates or GPS location.

Frequently asked questions

What do I get without a pass?

Without a pass, Increase Image Size in KB shows each file’s new size in bytes and KB, with its picture at preview size (up to 640 pixels) and a MySmartCoPilot watermark; in a batch, the first files (up to 3). Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.

How do I increase a photo from 8 KB to 20 KB?

Choose 20 KB and add the photo. It is padded to 20,992 bytes (20 × 1,024 + 512), which is at least 20 KB for every form, and the picture is not changed.

Does increasing the KB change my photo?

No, not for a JPG: the extra bytes are comments that viewers skip, so every pixel stays the same. Only pictures in other formats are converted to JPG once, at quality 92, which looks the same as the original.

Will the form accept a padded file?

The file is a normal JPG that opens in every viewer, and its size is what the form asks for. Forms that check the pixel size, the background or the face still check those, so follow the rest of the notification too.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and the page keeps working offline once it has loaded.
