About the Heading Structure Checker
Heading Structure Checker reads pasted HTML source on your device. Review the indented H1–H6 tree, skipped levels, image alt labels and source hiding. The tree follows source order and heading ranks; the table adds source lines and specific findings. It uses an HTML parser rather than treating tags inside comments, scripts or quoted attributes as page elements. No pasted markup is rendered and no linked resource is loaded.
The free preview shows summary counts and the first share of findings. A Pro pass opens the complete analysis, sorting/filtering, copy and exports. Markdown copy preserves the complete outline. Filtering applies to both views; table sorting leaves the tree in source order.
How to use it
- Open your page source and paste its HTML; keep credentials and private source on your own device.
- Enter the original HTTP or HTTPS page URL when relative addresses need context.
- Choose Analyze source and review source lines, values and findings; your input stays intact on errors.
- With a pass, filter/sort the full table and copy or download the complete analysis.
Examples
Use the prefilled synthetic HTML example.
The H1→H3 jump, image-alt label, explicitly hidden heading and empty heading are identified.

Source analysis and privacy
The parser reads source as data. It does not execute scripts, load images or frames, or apply external styles. Computed/visual page behavior requires a separate rendered-page review.
Limitations
- This pasted-source mode never fetches a page address or loads scripts, frames, styles or images. Paste the HTML yourself; page fetching is unavailable in this mode.
- Source parsing does not observe JavaScript changes, response headers, external CSS, computed visibility or network status. Findings are review prompts, not ranking guarantees.
- Paste up to 2 MiB of HTML. Long tables are shown in pages so the page stays responsive; copies and exports hold the complete analysis.
- Multiple H1 headings are informational. Image-only headings use alt text; explicit hidden attributes/inline styles are candidates for review, not a complete CSS visibility result.
- The tree shows the current results page and uses source H1–H6 ranks. Computed heading offsets and rendered accessibility levels require a page review. Full copy and exports retain all headings.

Pasted HTML and the optional page address stay on this device. No URL, script, image, stylesheet or frame is fetched by this tool. Reset or leaving discards the current analysis.
Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, Heading Structure Checker shows summary counts and the first share of findings; full details, table controls, copy and downloads open with a pass. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Does entering a page address fetch that page?
No. This source-only mode uses the address locally to resolve relative URLs. Paste the page source yourself; no request is made to that address.
Does the checker run my HTML?
No. HTML is parsed as data and findings are rendered as plain text. Scripts, frames, styles and images from the pasted source are never loaded.
Can source checks prove the live page is correct?
No. JavaScript-generated content, response headers, external CSS and real rendering can differ. Source findings identify specific review items and do not guarantee search ranking.
