About the Tracking Tag Checker (GA4, GTM, Pixels)
Tracking Tag Checker reads pasted static HTML on your device and inventories recognized analytics and ad source signatures. It identifies GA4/Google tag and Google Ads IDs, GTM containers, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, Microsoft UET, TikTok, Pinterest, X pixel, Clarity, Hotjar, Matomo and Plausible. Cookiebot/OneTrust loader markers and Google Consent Mode default commands appear as separate findings. Source scripts are parsed as syntax and literal data, never executed.
A loader, initializer and noscript fallback are separate evidence, not automatically duplicates. Repeated loaders or initializers are flagged as source review candidates. The free preview shows finding labels and a limited overview; extracted IDs/settings, full details, sorting/filtering, copy and exports open with a Pro pass.
How to use it
- Paste the page HTML source and optionally its original address for relative source URL context. Nothing is fetched.
- Analyze source and review family names, observed IDs/settings, source lines and evidence contexts.
- Review repeated source loaders/initializers, CMP markers and default-consent commands in the actual source context.
- With a pass, download the complete CSV/report. Use browser developer tools or Tag Assistant to observe tags added later by GTM or after consent.
Examples
The prefilled source contains one GA4 loader, one config command and a Consent Mode default command.
The source evidence is listed without loading or running the tag. The ordinary loader/config pair is not automatically called a duplicate.
What source evidence can establish
A literal ID or recognized loader proves only that the marker exists in the inspected source. It does not verify the account, prove an event fired, or establish runtime consent behavior. Comments, tag-shaped strings and inert data scripts are not treated as executable calls. Dynamic IDs, aliases, custom/proxied loaders and externally added code can remain unknown.
Primary installation and consent references
Google tag commands, Tag Manager installation, Consent Mode defaults, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, Microsoft UET, Clarity installation, TikTok Pixel, Pinterest base code, Matomo JavaScript and Plausible installation.
Limitations
- Static syntax is inspected without executing JavaScript. Conditional or function code can be inactive; a source repetition does not prove duplicate runtime events. External scripts, GTM-injected tags and changes after consent require browser developer tools or Tag Assistant.
- Recognized CMP/default-command markers do not establish command order, consent updates, enforcement, storage state or legal compliance. No consent audit or legal conclusion is claimed.
- The local profile accepts up to 2 MiB pasted HTML, with explicit dense-script protection. Invalid inline JavaScript is reported as unreadable; its tags and commands remain unknown instead of being fabricated.
- Full table pages show 100 rows and the display text is shortened for responsiveness; authorized CSV/report/copy preserve the complete source inventory. Fetched-URL mode is unavailable here.
- MySmartCoPilot is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft, TikTok, Pinterest, X, Hotjar, Matomo or Plausible.

Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, Tracking Tag Checker (GA4, GTM, Pixels) shows finding labels and limited overview; full computed values, extracted ids/settings, text, table controls and exports open with a pass. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Does this checker fire analytics events?
No. It parses source as data and never runs pasted scripts or loads source-linked resources.
Can no markers prove that a site has no tracking?
No. Tags may be inserted by a manager, external script or consent flow. Observe the live page in developer tools or Tag Assistant separately.
Does a default-consent command prove compliant consent?
No. Source markers cannot prove runtime ordering, updates, enforcement or legal compliance.
