About Tidal Garden: Color Circuit
On the roof of a library of living stained glass there is a terrace, and at dusk the wind gets up. Six kinds of sea-spray glass lie on the deck in six colours and six shapes, each frosted by the sand and etched in white with a plant of its own: a sea-holly head, a fern frond, a shell spiral, a curling wave, a clover and a dandelion clock. Swap two neighbours to line up three or more and they burst into light.
The tiles do not fall straight down. They fall the way the wind pulls, and the weathervane in the panel shows which way that is. Every objective asks for a number of one colour; meet it and the wind turns, the vane swings round past its mark and settles, a gust of wind lines and leaves crosses the whole terrace, and from then on the tiles fall a new way. Beside the deck the circuit asks for colours in a fixed order; close it as often as the deck asks to win.
The sky follows the wind: the clouds drift the way it blows, and the windmill on the headland spins up with each gust, its sails glazed in all six colours. The first chain three deep or more after a turn is riding the gust, worth 200 points.
Twelve decks are drawn by hand, from a sea breeze to the great terrace: a kite, a dovecote, a windmill’s cross, a harbour wall, a pinwheel. The music is a floating tune on glass harmonica and ocarina, the sounds are glass, wind and small bells, and every deck has been solved by a computer player first, so a way to win always exists.

How to play
- Drag a tile toward a neighbour, or tap one and then the next. Arrow keys move a cursor; Enter or Space picks a tile.
- The tiles fall the way the wind pulls, shown on the weathervane. Meet each objective in the panel and the wind turns.
- Clear the colours in the order shown beside the deck to close the circuit. A colour out of turn does not break it: the circuit waits.

Frequently asked questions
How does the wind work?
The tiles fall in the direction the weathervane shows. Each objective in the panel asks for a number of one colour; when you have cleared them the wind turns to a new direction, and tiles fall that way from then on until the next objective.
What is riding the gust?
After the wind turns, the first chain three deep or more scores a bonus of 200 points. It happens once for each turn, so look for a long chain right after the weathervane settles.
What is the circuit?
It is the short row of colours beside the deck. Clear the first colour, then the second, and so on to close it. Clearing a colour out of turn never undoes anything: the circuit simply waits for the colour it needs.
Can every deck be won?
Yes. Each deck is solved by a computer player before you see it, so a way to win always exists. Your stars, bests and badges stay in this browser only.
