Prism Orchard: Chainburst

Plan two swaps, release them together, and split the sunrise with a chain.

Stage a swap, add a second, and both clear together. Drag or tap two fruit; arrow keys and Enter work too.

Cut-crystal fruit on a floating island of moss and soil at sunrise, with a fan of rainbow light from a great prism.

Sky orchard at sunrise

Prism Orchard: Chainburst

Plan two swaps, release them together, and split the sunrise with a chain.

About Prism Orchard: Chainburst

At sunrise the sky orchard drifts above the clouds, and its fruit is cut crystal: ruby apples, topaz pears, peridot quinces, aqua plums, sapphire pomegranates and amethyst starfruit. Each island is a small board of soil pockets, and every fruit has its own shape and its own cut, so no colour is ever the only clue.

Here a swap does not clear at once. You make one swap, the board holds its breath and shows what it would line up, and then you make a second. Both land together, so a row that only exists because of the two swaps counts too. When one swap is enough, press Release. Take a staged swap back with Undo whenever you like.

Fruit that falls into a new line clears again on its own, and each island wants chains of a set depth and a score to match. When a planned move runs three deep, sunlight strikes the great prism hanging in the sky, a fan of split light sweeps over the board, and one of the floating islands ripens its tree. Ripen all of them before the island is done.

Twelve hand-drawn islands come first, from a plain square branch to hollow oaks, twin crowns and a ring of pockets with a hole in its heart; after them the shapes return with deeper chains, and the daily island changes every day. Every island can be won, and a hint is one press away. Stars follow your score, and Settings offers more moves or no limit at all.

How to play

  1. Drag a fruit toward a neighbour, or tap one fruit and then the next. Arrow keys move a cursor; Enter or Space picks a fruit.
  2. Your first swap waits on the board, glowing where it would line up three or more. Make a second swap and both clear together.
  3. When one swap is enough, press Release (R). Press Undo (U) to take a waiting swap back.
  4. Fruit that falls into a new line clears again: a chain. Win an island by reaching its chain target and its score.
  5. A chain three deep from your plan lights the great prism and ripens a sky island. Press H for a hint, P or Escape to pause.

Frequently asked questions

Why does nothing clear after my first swap?

That is the rule of the orchard: you plan in pairs. The first swap waits and shows what it lines up. Make a second swap and both clear together, or press Release if one is enough.

What is a Prism Burst?

When a move you planned sets off a chain three deep, the great prism catches the sun and sweeps the board with split light, and one of the sky islands ripens. Four deep makes it twice as bright. Settings can turn the light sweep off.

Can every island be won?

Yes. Each island is solved by a computer player before you see it, so a way to win always exists. Use the Hint button, or choose more moves in Settings.

Does it save my progress?

Your stars, best scores and badges are saved in this browser only, and nothing is uploaded.
