About Petal Mosaic: Chainburst

On the last night of the blossom festival the lane is lit end to end. Red gates march away toward a rose glow, paper lanterns hang from the cherry boughs, and the stalls sell charms covered in pearl scales: sakura discs, apricot pennants, butter tiles, mint diamonds, sky hexagons and lilac stars. Each has its own outline and its own colour, so no colour is ever the only clue.

Swap two neighbouring charms to line up three or more. That is the game, until you meet the ribbons. Every stall hangs a few silk streamers from a rope across the top, one for each wild token it gives you. Spend one, pick a charm, and a ribbon runs along its whole row or column and repaints it to the colour you picked. A gust of petals follows it, and the streamer lets go of the rope and flutters off on the wind.

The trick is in the timing. Charms that fall into a new line clear again by themselves, a chain, and every stall asks for chains of a set depth. A ribbon placed right after a chain keeps the cascade going instead of breaking it. With only two or three streamers on the rope, you will want to spend each where it counts.

Twelve hand-drawn stalls come first, from a plain square of charms to a gate, a bridge of boughs, a stepped tea terrace and the last gate with a hole in its heart; after them the shapes return with deeper chains, and tonight's stall changes every day. Every stall can be won, and a hint is one press away. Stars follow your score, and Settings offers more moves or no limit at all.

Frequently asked questions

What does a ribbon do?

It repaints a whole row or column to the colour of the charm you pick. That can finish a line of three, or keep a chain alive. Each stall gives only two or three, shown as streamers on the rope across the top.

Why spend a ribbon after a chain?

Charms that fall into a new line clear again by themselves. A ribbon placed right after such a chain repaints a line so that the cascade keeps going, which is how the deep chain targets are met.

Can every stall be won?

Yes. Each stall is solved by a computer player before you see it, ribbons included, so a way to win always exists. Use the Hint button, or choose more moves in Settings.

Does it save my progress?
