About Amber Orchard: Color Circuit

The old orchard went under the water long ago, and its fruit turned to resin on the branch. Now the terraces glow honey-gold in the evening light, and a copper channel still runs beside each one, waiting to be filled.

Swap two fruits to line up three or more. Four in a line leaves an arrow behind; five, or a corner, leaves a sunburst. Here a power is shaped by where it sits: an arrow fires the long way across the terrace, and a sunburst on the rim roars twice as wide as one in the middle. Press a power fruit and its reach glows on the comb, so you can carry it to the right spot before you set it off. Fired from the rim, it scores double.

The valves along the channel are the circuit. Clear their colours in order and the resin fills them one by one; close the circuit and it all runs down into a single great drop that seals a fossil in amber, a dragonfly, a leaf, a beetle, and sets it on your shelf. The seal gives something back, too: an arrow on the next fruit the channel wants.

Twenty-four terraces are drawn by hand, from the Honey Step to the Golden Orchard, and then the high tide brings them back with new fruit. Every one is solved by a player in the code before it reaches you, so it can always be won, and a hint is one press away. Stars, bests, badges and your shelf of fossils stay in this browser, and nothing is uploaded.

How to play

  1. Drag a fruit toward a neighbour to swap them, or tap one fruit and then the next. The arrow keys and Enter or Space work too.
  2. Four in a line makes an arrow, five or a corner makes a sunburst. Press or select a power fruit to see what it would reach from where it sits.
  3. A power fired from the rim of the terrace reaches farther and scores double. Swap two powers together to combine them.
  4. Fill the channel’s valves by clearing their colours in order; close every circuit the terrace asks for before the moves run out. Each closed circuit seals a fossil and leaves an arrow on the next colour.
  5. Press H or the Hint button for a swap that works. Press P, Escape or Start to pause.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the same power reach farther in some places?

Powers here are shaped by where they sit. An arrow always fires the long way across the terrace, and a sunburst on the rim, or beside open water, clears a wider patch than one in the middle. Press a power fruit to see its reach before you swap it.

What is rim fire?

A power fired from a rim cell scores double for everything it sweeps. Carrying a power to the edge before you set it off is often worth a move.

What does sealing a fossil do?

Closing a circuit pours the resin into one drop that seals a fossil and adds it to your shelf, and the seal leaves an arrow power on the fruit of the next colour the channel wants, nearest the middle.

Can every terrace be won?

Yes. Each terrace is solved by a player in the code before it is shipped, with moves to spare. The hint shows a swap that works, and Settings offers more moves or no limit.

Does it save my progress?

Your terrace, stars, bests, badges and fossils are kept in this browser only, and nothing is uploaded.
