About the France Home Renovation Aid Calculator (MaPrimeRénov’)
Estimate MaPrimeRénov’, the state's aid for energy renovation in mainland France, for your household and your project (Service-Public): for single works it pays a flat amount for a heat pump, a connection to a heating network, removing a fuel oil tank and an energy audit; for a whole renovation (rénovation d'ampleur) of a home rated E, F or G it pays 80% to 10% of the works before VAT, up to €40 000. The amount depends on your income category, from Bleu (very modest) to Rose (higher), by the France Rénov’ barème.
Enter your household, its reference tax income, the home and the works with their costs, and any energy supplier's bonus (CEE) or local aid you were offered. The calculator shows your category, each aid, the caps that apply, what you pay yourself and how much the éco-prêt à taux zéro can lend for the rest, with the working. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
Without a pass, the free preview shows your renovation aid in full, with the first rows of the table of aids and the first step of the working; a Pro pass unlocks every figure and the summary to copy, download or print.
How to use it
- Choose Île-de-France or another region of mainland France, and enter the number of people in the household and its reference tax income (revenu fiscal de référence, on the last tax notice).
- Choose single works (a heat pump and the works with it) or a whole renovation, and say when the home was built; for a home of 2 to 15 years, tick whether the new heating replaces a fuel oil heating.
- For single works, tick each work and enter its cost with VAT and the CEE bonus an energy supplier offers for it, if any. For a whole renovation, enter the energy classes before and after, the cost before VAT and the cost of the Accompagnateur Rénov’.
- Read your category, each aid, the caps and what is left to pay. With a Pro pass, or after unlocking this result, use Copy summary, Download CSV or Print; without one the page shows a free preview.
Examples
Category Jaune · MaPrimeRénov’ €4 000; €12 000 of the cost count.
MaPrimeRénov’ €3 000: the two together may not pass 75% of the €12 000, so €9 000 in all.
The Anah gives the same example of the cap.
MaPrimeRénov’ €12 200: €11 000 + €1 200.
MaPrimeRénov’ €4 800: €4 000 + €800; without the fuel oil heating replaced, a home this young gets none.
MaPrimeRénov’ €24 000 (60% of €40 000) and €1 600 for the Accompagnateur Rénov’.
MaPrimeRénov’ €4 000 (10%) and €400 for the support.
Your income category
The category comes from the reference tax income of every person in the household and its size. For three people: Bleu up to €30 540, Jaune up to €39 148, Violet up to €55 196, Rose above; in Île-de-France €42 357, €51 564 and €71 846 (France Rénov’).
Single works: a heat pump and the works with it
- Ground source or solar-assisted heat pump: €11 000, €9 000 or €6 000 (Bleu, Jaune, Violet), on up to €18 000 of cost.
- Air-to-water heat pump: €5 000, €4 000 or €3 000, on up to €12 000.
- Connection to a heating or cooling network: €1 200, €800 or €400; removing a fuel oil tank: the same, on up to €4 000; an energy audit with another work: €500, €400 or €300.
- Rose households get no MaPrimeRénov’ for single works. For each work, MaPrimeRénov’ and the CEE together stay within 90%, 75% or 60% of its costs counted, and every aid within 100% (Anah guide). Only heating that uses neither gas nor fuel oil is funded.
- The home must have been built at least 15 years ago; for single works, at least 2 years ago when the new heating replaces a fuel oil heating and the tank removal is claimed at the same time (France Rénov’).
A whole renovation
For a home built at least 15 years ago and rated E, F or G that gains at least two energy classes with at least two insulation works, with an energy audit and the support of a Mon Accompagnateur Rénov’ after a meeting with a France Rénov’ adviser (France Rénov’). MaPrimeRénov’ pays 80%, 60%, 45% or 10% of the works before VAT, up to €30 000 for two classes and €40 000 for three or more; every aid together stays within 100%, 90%, 80% or 50% of the works with VAT, and the CEE cannot be added. The support is paid at 100%, 80%, 40% or 20% of up to €2 000 (up to €4 000 for the reinforced support in substandard housing). In a house, a gas or fuel oil heating may not stay or be renewed.
The éco-prêt à taux zéro
An interest-free bank loan without conditions of income. For works funded by MaPrimeRénov’ it can lend the rest of their cost, up to €50 000 over up to 20 years, on the Anah's notice of the grant; other works up to €15 000 for one action, €25 000 for two and €30 000 for three or more (Service-Public). The bank decides.
Limitations
- Mainland France only: the overseas departments have their own works and amounts.
- The CEE bonus depends on the energy supplier and its offer: enter what you were offered for each work. The caps are applied work by work, as the Anah does; other aid you enter is checked against the works together.
- For a home built 2 to 15 years ago, the calculator follows the Anah’s exception (a new heating replacing a fuel oil heating, with the tank removal); Service-Public words the 2-year rule for heat pumps and heating networks, so a France Rénov’ adviser confirms which applies to your home.
- MaPrimeRénov’ for single works is at most €20 000 for one home over five years, with every earlier grant counted; the integrated heat pump offer cannot be combined with MaPrimeRénov’.
- The grant is not a right and depends on the Anah’s budget; the works must be done by RGE professionals and applied for before they start. An estimate, not an Anah decision and not financial advice.
