Find any airport in the complete source
The first search downloads the complete airport list (about 5 MB) and reads it in the background, so the page stays usable; later searches use that copy. Closed, unscheduled, small airports, heliports and other source types are retained. Scheduled airports appear first within matching ranks.

Sources, timezones and reuse
Airport, country and region fields come from the complete OurAirports author dataset under the Unlicense. IANA timezones are derived from airport coordinates and the comprehensive timezone-boundary-builder geometry, including oceans, under the Open Database License. OpenStreetMap contributors supply the underlying geographic data.
Timezone boundaries and airport coordinates are approximate. Border, overlapping and unmatched points are kept explicit. A timezone is not guessed from a country or airport code. Use an airport’s official source to resolve uncertainty.
Complete author airport source · Timezone geometry source · ODbL licence
These reference files are freely accessible independently of query-result unlocks: complete derived timezone assignments (ODbL), all airport source rows, all region rows, all country rows, airport-source notice and full timezone database licence.

About the Airport Code Lookup
Search all retained OurAirports records by actual IATA or ICAO code, source identifier, airport name, municipality, region or country. Country and city views keep every source airport type, including closed and unscheduled entries. Complete coordinates, elevation, derived IANA timezone and provenance support nearby-airport lookup and a two-airport distance or timezone handoff. The reference loads once and searches run on your device.
How to use it
- Search a code, airport name, city or country, and choose any filters. Closed airports are included and clearly marked by default.
- Use the country/city action to list all matching records, with scheduled service ordered first.
- Choose a first airport for nearby lookup and an optional second for great-circle distance and a compatible tool handoff.
- Inspect timezone provenance and use the full source fields or matched CSV after unlocking the query session.
Examples
Search an airport’s ICAO code.
The actual ICAO field is matched separately from its GPS code, local code and OurAirports identifier.
Complete source coverage
OurAirports author dataset. Full airport, country and region files are retained. Closed airports are marked rather than silently omitted; a source entry is not a certification of current operation.
Coordinate-derived timezone
Timezone-boundary-builder, based on OpenStreetMap data, supplies comprehensive IANA polygons including oceans. The assignment uses complete polygon geometry, with holes, overlaps and boundary points handled explicitly. Derived timezone contents carry the ODbL licence; the underlying airport source has its separate Unlicense notice.
Distance formula
The nearby and two-airport distance use the Haversine great-circle formula with mean spherical radius 6,371.0088 kilometres. Coordinates remain at source precision. This is not an actual flight route, road route or elapsed flight time.
Limitations
- Community source data can be incomplete, wrong or obsolete. Check airport and government sources before travel or operational use.
- Timezone assignment follows approximate geographic polygons and source coordinates. Ambiguous, boundary and unmatched points remain unassigned; no country-level timezone guess is made.
- The complete reference is larger than a curated airline-only list. Its first load and broad searches depend on device memory and storage.
Privacy

Airport searches and selections run in your browser. Official source and map links open only when you choose them; no traveller or visitor-URL data is submitted.
Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, Airport Code Lookup shows a preview of matching airport rows before complete source fields, nearby results and exports open. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Why is a closed airport still shown?
The complete source retains closed records. Their status is visible, and you can turn them off with the filter.
Are ICAO and GPS codes the same field?
No. The source supplies distinct ICAO, GPS, local and identifier fields. Missing ICAO values are not replaced with another field and labelled ICAO.
Why might an airport have no assigned timezone?
Its coordinate may fall on a boundary, in overlapping timezone polygons or outside a unique match. The uncertainty is preserved and needs source confirmation.
