About Comet Courier: Score After Dark

Comet Courier: Score After Dark drops you into the night shaft of a neon parcel depot. A courier with a jet-pack falls past eight floors of racks and conveyors toward the sorting hall at the bottom, and the shaft scrolls by itself. You only steer: left and right with the arrow keys, A and D, a stick, the on-screen pair, or a finger or the mouse dragged along the shaft, and you hold Dive to fall faster.

The easy points float in the shaft: parcels in three sizes, and the wide gap in every shelf that spans the shaft. Flying through any gap keeps your combo alive for a second and a half, and the longer the combo the more everything is worth. The dangerous points are the rings. A narrow ring sits in the middle of a shelf, worth 150 points and three more links of the combo, and from the third floor the rings swing from side to side. A shelf, the edge of a ring or a patrol drone costs one of your three charges and breaks the combo. Diving makes every point pay a quarter more, if you dare.

Ten links in a row blow the fuse. The Blackout Dive plunges the depot into the dark, the shelves glow neon, and every point doubles for six seconds. Each night adds a rule of its own, tonight’s shaft is the same for everyone, and your best dive falls beside you as a ghost courier, so you can see exactly where you are ahead or behind.

How to play

  1. Steer with the arrow keys, A and D, a stick, the on-screen pair, or drag a finger or the mouse along the shaft. The shaft scrolls by itself.
  2. Hold Space, Down, Ⓐ or the Dive button to fall faster. Everything you collect while diving pays a quarter more.
  3. Parcels and the wide gap in each shelf are the easy points. The narrow ring in a shelf pays 150 points and adds three links to the combo.
  4. A shelf, the edge of a ring or a patrol drone costs one of three charges and your combo. Rings swing from the third floor.
  5. Ten links in a row start the Blackout Dive: the depot goes dark, the shelves glow, and every point doubles for six seconds.

Controls

  • Arrow keys or A and D, left stick, the on-screen pair, or drag — steer the courier

Frequently asked questions

What do I steer, and what falls by itself?

The shaft scrolls on its own and the courier always falls. You only steer left and right, and choose whether to hold Dive to fall faster. Letting go of Dive slows you back to the floor’s normal speed.

What is the difference between the wide gap and the ring?

The wide gap is a safe way past a shelf and keeps your combo alive. The narrow ring is the risk: threading it pays 150 points and three links of combo, but touching its edge counts as hitting the shelf.

What does the Blackout Dive do?

At a combo of ten the lights go out for six seconds. The shelves and rings glow in neon so you can still see them, and every point you earn is doubled. A hit or a dropped combo arms it again.

Why did a parcel I did not take come back?

Parcels you let fall past you are counted. On the next floor more parcels come as bait, near the rings, so a miss changes what the next floor looks like.

Can I make it easier?

Yes. In Settings, Pace: Relaxed runs at three-quarter speed, Assist makes parcels easier to reach and the shelves and drones a little narrower, and Toggle instead of hold makes Dive press-to-start, press-to-stop.
