Saved wheels stay in this browser. A share link carries the options inside the link itself (after the #), so they are never stored on a server — anyone with the link sees the same wheel, shown as plain text.

About the Spin the Wheel — Random Picker Wheel
Type the options — names, prizes, places to eat, anything — one per line, and press Spin. The wheel turns, slows down and stops on one of them. The winner is drawn by your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator the moment you press Spin, before the wheel starts moving; the animation then lands exactly on that slice. Every option has the same chance unless you give it a weight.
Make an option more or less likely with a weight (Pizza *3), give it its own colour, take each winner off the wheel for a raffle or a speaking order, or start from a ready-made list: yes/no, yes/no/maybe, what to eat, letters, days of the week or a range of numbers. Wheels can be saved in your browser, opened full screen for a classroom or a stream, and shared as a link that carries the options inside the link itself.
How to use it
- Type or paste your options in the box, one per line — or choose a Ready-made list.
- Optional: add a weight such as
*2to the end of a line, pick the colours, the spin time, and whether to Remove the winner after each spin. - Press Spin (the button in the middle, the big button, or Space / Enter). The wheel stops on the winner and shows it large.
- Choose Spin again, Remove from wheel or Close. Every winner is listed under Results to copy or download.
- Press Save this wheel to keep it in this browser, or Copy share link to send the same wheel to someone else.

Common uses
- Classrooms: pick a student to answer, or a random order for presentations.
- Giveaways and raffles: remove each winner so nobody wins twice.
- Everyday decisions: what to eat, which film to watch, who does the dishes.
- Games and streams: full-screen wheel with sound and confetti.
Is the wheel fair?
Yes. When you press Spin, the tool turns every option’s weight into a whole number (weights may have up to three decimals), adds them up and draws one whole number below that total from crypto.getRandomValues, using rejection sampling so no number is more likely than another. The option whose share of the total contains that number wins: with weights 1, 2 and 0.5, the chances are exactly 1/3.5, 2/3.5 and 0.5/3.5.
Only then does the wheel move. It turns at least a few full times and stops at a random point inside the winner’s slice, away from the edges, so the result is never in doubt. How hard or how often you press the button makes no difference, and the speed of your device cannot change the result.
Weights, colours and lists
- Weight: end a line with
*and a number —Pizza *3,Salad *0.5(or*0,5). Weights from 0.001 to 1,000 are accepted (*1,000is a thousand); an option without a weight has weight 1. The slice is drawn in proportion to its chance. - Colour: end a line with a hex colour such as
#e63946(or#e34). A colour code has at least one letter a–f, so a number such asTicket #101orOrder #004512stays part of the name. Other options take the palette you choose; label text is black or white, whichever contrasts more with the slice. - Duplicates: a name on two lines gets two slices (and twice the chance); the tool points this out.
- Up to 500 options. On thin slices the label is left out to stay readable — every option and its chance is listed under Chance of each option.
Saving and share links
Save this wheel keeps the title, options and settings in this browser (saving again under the same title replaces it). Copy share link puts the whole wheel, compressed, into the part of the link after #. Browsers do not send that part to a website’s server, so the options travel only inside the link. When someone opens it, the options are shown as plain text, and the wheel they had in their own browser stays saved until they change the shared one — the message at the top offers Back to my wheel. A link pasted into a tab that already has this page open works too.
Limitations
- For games, classrooms and informal draws. Prize draws with legal requirements (for example a regulated lottery) may need a certified process or an independent witness.
- Up to 500 options and 80 characters per option. Very thin slices are drawn without labels.
- Sound plays only after you have pressed Spin once, as browsers require; on a phone in silent mode you may hear nothing.
- Results are kept until you leave the page; copy or download them to keep them.
Privacy
Everything happens in your browser. Your current wheel, saved wheels and settings are stored in this browser only; share links carry the options inside the link and are never stored on a server.
Frequently asked questions
Is the spin really random?
Yes. The winner is drawn from your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator before the animation starts, and every option has the same chance unless you set weights. The wheel’s movement only shows the result.
How do I make one option more likely?
Add a weight at the end of its line, such as Pizza *3. It is then three times as likely as an option without a weight, and its slice is three times as wide. Chance of each option shows the exact percentages.
Can the wheel remove the winner?
Yes. Tick Remove the winner after each spin, or press Remove from wheel after a spin. Removed options are listed under Results, and Put them all back restores them.
How do I share my wheel?
Press Copy share link and send the link. It contains the options, title and settings in the part after #, which is not sent to any server. The other person sees the same wheel and can save their own copy.
Can I use it full screen, for a class or a stream?
Yes. Press Full screen to show just the wheel, the result and the Spin button, sized to the screen. Turn sound and confetti on or off as you like.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded. The wheel, saving and the random draw all run in your browser.
