      How we check our tools

About the Colombia Net Salary Calculator (Salario neto: salud, pensión, retención)

Turn a Colombian monthly salary into the pay that reaches your account (salario neto). The calculator takes off the employee's health contribution (salud, 4%), pension contribution (pensión, 4%) and, from four minimum wages, the Fondo de Solidaridad Pensional, then works out the income tax withholding (retención en la fuente) the way employers do it every month (procedimiento 1), and adds the transport allowance (auxilio de transporte) when your salary is up to two minimum wages.

It shows the payslip line by line, the withholding working from your labour income down to the base in UVT, the bracket of the withholding table you fall in, and your salary in minimum wages and UVT. Ordinary and integral salaries both work, and you can add dependents, prepaid medicine, housing loan interest and voluntary pension or AFC savings. Nothing you type leaves your browser. Without a pass the page shows a free preview of your own result: your net pay a month and the first rows of each table, while every other figure stays hidden until you unlock it with a Pro pass.

      How to use it

      1. Choose ordinary or integral salary and enter your monthly salary, as on your contract. Add other salary payments of the month (commissions, overtime) if you have them.
      2. Leave the transport allowance on "By the rule", or say whether your employer pays it.
      3. Open "Deductions for the withholding" to add dependents, prepaid medicine, housing loan interest or voluntary pension and AFC savings.
      4. Read your net pay, the payslip, the withholding working and the bracket of the withholding table.
      5. With a Pro pass, or after unlocking this result, copy the summary or download it as a CSV file; without one the page shows a free preview.

      What comes off your salary

      • Health (salud): 4% of your contribution base ([Ley 100 de 1993, art. 204](http://www.secretariasenado.gov.co/senado/basedoc/ley_0100_1993_pr004.html)). The employer's 8.5% share never comes off your pay; companies that file income tax returns, and individual employers with two or more workers, are exempt from it for workers earning under 10 minimum wages ([Estatuto Tributario art. 114-1](http://www.secretariasenado.gov.co/senado/basedoc/estatuto_tributario_pr004.html)).
      • Pension (pensión): 4% of the base, a quarter of the 16% total ([Ley 100 de 1993, art. 20](http://www.secretariasenado.gov.co/senado/basedoc/ley_0100_1993.html)).
      • Fondo de Solidaridad Pensional: from 4 minimum wages of base, 1% more; from 16 minimum wages it rises by 0.2 points for each minimum wage up to 20, and it is 2% above 20 (same article).
      • The contribution base is your monthly salary, never under one minimum wage nor over 25 (COP 43,772,625); an integral salary contributes on 70% of the salary (art. 18; UGPP).
      • The transport allowance of COP 249,095 is paid on top when your salary is up to two minimum wages (Decreto 1470 de 2025). It is not salary, so it is outside the contribution base.

How the withholding is worked out (procedimiento 1)

Each month your employer starts from what you were paid for your work and takes off your mandatory contributions, which are not income. From the rest come the deductions: dependents (10% of your labour income, at most 32 UVT), prepaid medicine or health insurance (at most 16 UVT) and housing loan interest (at most 100 UVT a month), then voluntary pension and AFC savings and the 25% exempt labour income. All of them together count for at most 40% of the income after contributions and 1,340 UVT a year ([Estatuto Tributario arts. 387 and 388](http://www.secretariasenado.gov.co/senado/basedoc/estatuto_tributario_pr015.html); [art. 206](http://www.secretariasenado.gov.co/senado/basedoc/estatuto_tributario_pr008.html); [art. 336](http://www.secretariasenado.gov.co/senado/basedoc/estatuto_tributario_pr014.html); DUR 1625 de 2016).

The base that is left, in UVT, goes into the table of [art. 383](http://www.secretariasenado.gov.co/senado/basedoc/estatuto_tributario_pr015.html): nothing up to 95 UVT, then 19%, 28% plus 10 UVT, 33% plus 69 UVT, 35% plus 162 UVT, 37% plus 268 UVT and 39% plus 770 UVT on the part above each step. The result in UVT becomes pesos with the rounding of [art. 868](http://www.secretariasenado.gov.co/senado/basedoc/estatuto_tributario_pr035.html): to the nearest thousand above COP 10,000.

      UVT and the minimum wage

The UVT is COP 52,374 (DIAN Resolución 000238 de 2025) and the monthly minimum wage is COP 1,750,905 (Función Pública on Decreto 1469 de 2025; the same amount was fixed again by Decreto 159 de 2026). An integral salary is at least 13 minimum wages, COP 22,761,765: 10 minimum wages plus a benefit factor of at least 30% ([CST art. 132](http://www.secretariasenado.gov.co/senado/basedoc/codigo_sustantivo_trabajo_pr004.html)). The Colombia UVT Converter turns any UVT figure into pesos.

      Limitations

      • One regular month of an employee. The service bonus (prima) paid in June and December is withheld on its own (art. 385), and dismissal compensation has its own withholding.
      • The yearly limits (3,800, 790 and 1,340 UVT) are spread evenly over twelve months; a month with a bonus or an employer who tracks the limits through the year can withhold a little differently.
      • Contracts for services (independientes), domestic workers paid by the day and part-time work have rules of their own; pensioners are not covered.
      • Your employer may round each contribution its own way; the calculator rounds each one to the nearest peso.
      • For pay from April 2027, Ley 2381 de 2024 (art. 20) raises the solidarity contribution for bases from 4 minimum wages, from 1.5% up to 3% above 20 minimum wages; the calculator uses the current rules.
      • An estimate from the Estatuto Tributario, Ley 100 de 1993 and the year’s decrees, not tax advice: your payslip and your employer’s payroll decide.

      Frequently asked questions

What do I get without a pass?

Without a pass, Colombia Net Salary Calculator (Salario neto: salud, pensión, retención) shows your net pay a month in full, with the first rows of the payslip and of the withholding working and the rules that apply; every other figure is hidden. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment unless you choose automatic renewal, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.

How much is the minimum wage after deductions in Colombia?

COP 1,859,928 a month: the COP 1,750,905 minimum wage less COP 70,036 for health and COP 70,036 for pension, plus the COP 249,095 transport allowance. There is no withholding at this salary.

From what salary is income tax withheld?

Withholding starts when the base, after contributions, deductions and exempt income, is above 95 UVT (COP 4,975,530) a month. With no deductions besides the 25% exempt income that is a salary of about COP 7,291,000 a month; at COP 8,000,000 the withholding is COP 92,000.

What is the Fondo de Solidaridad Pensional?

An extra pension contribution that funds pensions for people with low income. You pay it when your contribution base is 4 minimum wages or more: 1%, rising to 2% above 20 minimum wages.

Do I get the transport allowance?

When your salary is up to two minimum wages (COP 3,501,810), yes: COP 249,095 a month. It is not owed when your employer provides the transport itself or getting to work costs you nothing; a teleworker earning under two minimum wages gets a connectivity allowance of the same amount instead.

How does an integral salary change the result?

Contributions are worked out on 70% of the salary, there is no transport allowance, and the service bonus, cesantías and their interest are already inside the salary. The withholding still starts from the whole salary.

      Is my salary sent anywhere?

No. Everything is worked out in your browser; nothing you enter is uploaded or stored on a server.
