About Turbo Signal: Arcade Weather

Turbo Signal: Arcade Weather is a rooftop runner set on the last tram through a sleeping city at midnight. Wick, the line’s lamplighter, rides on top of its three cream and red cars with a little lamp on a pole, while the street, its lamp posts and its shopfronts stream past below.

Run along the roofs, jump the couplings between the cars, duck under the signal gantries that cross the line and hop the pigeons that flap low over it. Sparks crawl along the overhead wire, so a careless jump can cost a cap. Lamp sparks drift in on the night air: catch them one after another to build the Lamp chain and climb the multiplier from ×1 to ×8, and a close duck or hop counts as well.

A ride is five rounds, and every round brings its own weather that changes how the street plays. Wind shoves Wick toward the back of the tram, and falling leaves warn of each gust. Rain makes the roofs slick, so Wick slides before stopping. Fog hides the street beyond a few steps. The last round is a storm: when the pantograph on the front car glows, stand on that car to catch the lightning, burn out every hazard in sight and climb the ladder. Tool crates add charges, and the choice is when to spend them: an Umbrella for a floating jump and a sure footing, a Lantern that lifts the fog and doubles every spark, and the tram Bell that holds the street still for a moment. Three caps lost end the ride. The daily ride is the same line and forecast for everyone that day, and Pace and Assist are in the settings. Your best scores and badges stay in this browser.

How to play

  1. Run with the arrow keys, A and D, a stick, the D-pad or the on-screen pad. Down or S ducks.
  2. Jump with Space, Up, W, Ⓐ or the Jump button. Hold it for a higher jump. Jump the couplings between the cars.
  3. Duck under signal gantries, hop the pigeons, and keep out of the sparks on the overhead wire.
  4. Catch lamp sparks in quick succession for the Lamp chain and the multiplier. Crates add tool charges: Umbrella (X or 1), Lantern (C or 2), Bell (V or 3).
  5. In the storm, stand on the front car when the pantograph glows to catch the lightning.

Frequently asked questions

How does the weather change the game?

Each round has one weather. Wind pushes Wick toward the back of the tram, with leaves blowing in just before each gust. Rain makes the roofs slick. Fog hides the street except close by. The storm adds lightning to the rain. Round one is always a clear night.

When should I use my tools?

Each tool holds up to three charges. The Umbrella is best in wind or rain, the Lantern in fog or a long run of sparks, and the Bell when a pigeon flight comes under a live wire. Crates add charges.

How do I catch the lightning?

In the storm round the pantograph on the front car starts to glow before a strike. Be standing on the front car when it lands: Wick catches the surge, every hazard in sight burns out and the multiplier climbs.

What ends a ride?

Losing three caps, to a gantry, a pigeon, a wire spark or a fall between the cars, or reaching the end of the line after five rounds. A first ride can be over in seconds, and Play again starts the next one.

Is there an easier way to play?

Yes. In Settings, Pace set to Relaxed runs the street at three-quarter speed, and Assist makes hazards a little smaller, sparks easier to reach and adds a breather between waves.

Does the game save?

A ride you leave is kept in this browser and picks up at the start of the round you were in. Best scores, the daily result and badges stay in this browser and are never uploaded.
