Static Juggler: One More Run

Cling for the streams, float for the crushers.

Pro game

Run along the drum wall with the arrow keys or WASD. Space switches between Cling and Float; R ends a shift at once.

Inside a huge rust-orange scrap drum in space, a tiny yellow pod floats across the dark hollow with three gold plates circling it, a stream of tumbling junk sweeping from the hub and striped crusher plates slamming on the wall.

About Static Juggler: One More Run

Static Juggler: One More Run is a quick arcade shift inside the Tumbler, the great turning scrap drum of an orbital salvage yard, seen end-on. You fly Nib, a thimble-sized salvage pod, and Nib has two ways to move: Cling and Float.

In Cling its magnet feet hold it to the inside of the drum wall. The drum carries it round, and the stick runs it along the wall fast. In Float it kicks off toward the hollow middle and drifts in zero gravity, steering a little with its thrusters and bouncing softly off the wall. The drum needs both. Crusher plates slam down on stretches of the wall, so only the middle is safe from them. Scrap streams sweep round from the hub like the hands of a clock but stop short of the wall, so only the wall is safe from them. Sparking coils hang in the middle. Switch just before the old mode would have been caught and that is a clean switch.

Bolts wait along the wall and float in the hollow: wall bolts are collected while clinging and floating bolts while floating. Caught in quick succession they build the Juggle chain and climb the multiplier from ×1 to ×8. A chain of eight throws the Orbit: three plates of scrap wheel round Nib for six seconds, each one taking a hit for it, every bolt counts double and four seconds go back on the clock. A shift is 45 seconds, 90 at most, or three dents, and R ends one at once, so the next run is always one press away. Each shift draws one rule, the daily shift is the same drum for everyone that day, and Pace and Assist are in the settings. Your best scores and badges stay in this browser.

How to play

  1. Run along the wall or steer with the arrow keys, WASD, a stick or the on-screen stick. Space, Shift, Ⓐ or the Switch button switches between Cling and Float.
  2. Cling: Nib rides the turning drum and runs along its wall. Scrap streams cannot reach it there.
  3. Float: Nib kicks off into the hollow middle and drifts. Crusher plates on the wall cannot reach it there.
  4. Wall bolts count while clinging, floating bolts while floating. A Juggle chain of eight puts three guard plates in orbit.
  5. A shift is 45 seconds or three dents. R ends a shift at once.

Frequently asked questions

When should I cling and when should I float?

Cling when a scrap stream is sweeping from the hub: it stops short of the wall. Float when a stretch of wall flashes red and striped: a crusher plate is about to slam there. Bolts tell you too: wall bolts need Cling, floating bolts need Float.

How do I move along the wall?

Push the stick along the wall in the direction you want to run. The drum keeps turning underneath, so standing still also carries Nib round slowly.

What is the Orbit?

Collect eight bolts in one Juggle chain and three gold plates of scrap start circling Nib for six seconds. Each plate takes one hit in Nib's place, every bolt counts double and four seconds go back on the clock.

How long is a shift?

Forty-five seconds, up to ninety with Orbits, or three dents. Press R at any time to end the shift and see your score, then Play again starts the next one at once.

Is there an easier way to play?

Yes. In Settings, Pace set to Relaxed runs the drum at three-quarter speed, and Assist makes hazards a little smaller, bolts easier to reach and adds a breather between waves.

Does the game save?

A shift you leave is kept in this browser and picks up at the start of the wave you were in. Best scores, the daily result and badges stay in this browser and are never uploaded.
