About Pocket Riddle: Word Trails
The Pocket Riddle academy is a ring of pods in orbit over a sea-green world, joined by a transit line. A cadet's day is a ride along it: at every pod a tutor sets a few clues, and the line forks so you choose the next pod. Each pod leans to its own kinds of clue: meanings in the Zero-G Library, anagrams in the lab, links and swaps in the Signal Room. Every line ends in a finale.
Answer from a ring of letter keys around the answer row, the answer's own letters and a few spare ones, or just type. A right answer of a different kind from the last one raises the multiplier, up to three, and the chain carries on from pod to pod, so switching all the way down the line pays the most. A wrong answer starts the chain again. A pod answered without a slip, a hint or a skip earns its star bonus.
Three lines, the Blue Line, the Amber Loop and the Red Express, and a daily line the same for everyone. A line takes five to eight minutes. Your records stay on this device only.
How to play
- Choose a line. Each stop is a pod with a few clues: meanings, anagrams and logic clues.
- Tap the keys around the ring in order to set the answer, or type it. Tap a box or press Backspace to take letters back.
- The answer is checked when every box is full. A slip gives you one more try; a second one shows the answer.
- A right answer of a different kind from the last raises the multiplier, up to ×3, all along the line. A wrong answer or a skip resets it.
- A pod with no slip, hint or skip earns its star bonus. At a fork, choose the next pod; the line ends at a finale.
- Hint with 1 or Ⓧ, skip with 2 or Ⓨ. Press Escape or Start to pause.

Frequently asked questions
What changes from pod to pod?
Each pod leans to its own kinds of clue and has its own number of stars. The chain and the multiplier carry on along the whole line.
How does the multiplier grow?
Each right answer whose kind differs from the last right answer adds a half, up to three. A wrong answer or a skip resets it to one.
What is a clean pod?
A pod answered with no slip, no hint and no skip. It earns forty points for each of its stars.
Is it a general-knowledge quiz?
No. Every clue is about words: meanings, letters and links, written for the academy.
