About Hangman
A browser version of the classic letter-guessing game. A short word is hidden behind underscores; guess letters one at a time to reveal it before too many wrong guesses pile up.
Use the on-screen keyboard or your own keyboard. A simple original drawing fills in a little more with each wrong guess, with no clip-art gallows image. Nothing here involves betting or prizes.
How to play
- A hidden word is shown as a row of blanks, one per letter.
- Click a letter on the on-screen keyboard, or press a letter key, to guess it.
- A correct guess fills in every blank with that letter; a wrong guess fills in part of the drawing.
- Guess the whole word before the drawing is complete to win the round.

Frequently asked questions
How many wrong guesses can I make?
Six. Each wrong guess adds one more part to the drawing; a complete drawing ends the round.
Can I play with a physical keyboard?
Yes — pressing any letter key guesses that letter, the same as clicking it on the on-screen keyboard.
