About Neon Courier: One More Run

The robot repair arena is a long bay with a glowing rail down each wall, and you are the courier bot rolling through it at speed. You have one button: flip. Gravity swaps and you fall to the other rail; press again in the middle of the fall and you turn back. The bay is full of repair work. Gates have a gap on one rail only, plates spark on a rail, welding arms turn on their pivots, shock pulses spread from a point. Every hazard shows a dashed warning while it is still far down the bay and turns solid just before you arrive.

Brush a live hazard without touching it and that is a near miss: it scores, it chains with the next one and it fills the multiplier. Five near misses in a row light up the whole bay for a streak. Bolts hang in the air between the rails, and the arc of bolts shows the way through a hard spot.

A run is short on purpose: three plates, or the shift bell at ninety seconds. The results come half a second after your last plate, and R starts the next run at once, even in the middle of one. Each run has one twist: overdrive, a glass chassis, a bolt storm or low gravity. On an upright phone the bay runs up the screen. Your records and badges stay on this device.

How to play

  1. Press Space, W, S or an arrow key, click, tap anywhere, or press Ⓐ to flip to the other rail. The run starts with your first flip.
  2. Press again in the middle of a flip to turn back; the bot falls to whichever rail gravity points to.
  3. Watch the telegraph: a dashed outline far ahead turns solid just before you arrive. Gates leave a gap on one rail.
  4. Brush a live hazard without touching it for a near miss; chains of them fill the multiplier and five in a row light the bay.
  5. Bolts mark a safe line through hard spots and each one is worth a few points.
  6. You have three plates (one with the glass chassis twist). The run ends with the last plate or the 90 second shift bell. Press R to restart at once.
  7. Press P, Escape or Start to pause. In Settings you can choose a relaxed pace and an assist with easier bolts and smaller hazards.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really one button?

Yes: flip. Space, W, S, the arrows, a click, a tap anywhere or Ⓐ all flip. R restarts the run and P or Escape pauses.

How long is a run?

Until you lose your three plates or the shift bell rings at 90 seconds. Most runs are between half a minute and a minute and a half.

What is a near miss?

Brushing a live hazard without touching it. It scores more the closer you graze, builds a chain with the next one and fills your multiplier.

Can I play on a phone held upright?

Yes. The bay then runs up the screen and the rails are the left and right walls. Tap anywhere to flip.

Can I take it slower?

Yes. In Settings, Pace can be set to Relaxed, and Assist makes bolts easier to catch, the hazards smaller and gives you breathing room between waves.
