About Brass Archive: Suit Garden
Brass Archive: Suit Garden is a solo card puzzle set in a miniature theatre made as a pop-up book. The pages lie open in kraft paper, stitched down the fold and cornered in brass. A short deck, Ace to Eight in four suits, is laid on them in eight flats of three cards, and at the back of the stage stand four pop-up scenes: a night sky with a moon, a meadow of flowers, a desert noon with a sun, and a snowy wood of fir trees.
Plant a scene from the Ace up. Only the lowest card of a flat is open, and it can go into its scene only when it is the next rank for its suit, so the card you need is often beneath the one you do not. Three pockets hold a card each while you dig. The paper stack turns over one card at a time onto the cut-out pile, and the pile can be turned back into the stack twice. Every card planted pops a new layer of cut paper into its scene: hills, a moon, stars, a cloud and an owl, or three flowers and a butterfly.
Clearing a whole flat lifts the suit of its last card to the top worth, and the stage spots in front of the scenes show what each suit is worth now: the wider the pool of light, the dearer the suit. A card scores by what its suit is worth, streaks of plays without a draw score more, and each scene brought to its Eight adds a bonus. When all four are complete they unfold to full height one after another, a drum rolls and paper confetti showers over the pages.
Every deal is checked by a solving player before you see it, so it can always be cleared, and its par shows what a sharp player can reach. A deal saves where you leave it, in this browser only; nothing is uploaded.
How to play
- Tap the lowest card of a flat, or drag it to its pop-up, when it is the next rank for its suit. Each scene starts at the Ace and is complete at the Eight.
- Put a card in a pocket to reach the one beneath: drag it there, or tap it and then the pocket. A card in a pocket can be planted from there.
- Turn a card over from the paper stack when no planting is possible. The cut-out pile can be turned back into the stack twice.
- Clear a whole flat and the suit of its last card becomes the dearest. The stage spots in front of the scenes show what each suit is worth now.
- Complete all four scenes to win. Press H or the Hint button for a good move, and U or the Undo button to take a move back.

Frequently asked questions
What do I plant?
The cards of each suit, in order, from the Ace up to the Eight. Only the next rank for a suit can go into its pop-up, and only from the end of a flat, a pocket or the cut-out pile.
How does a scene grow?
A cut-paper layer pops up for every card planted. The scene is complete with the Eight, and all four complete wins the deal.
What do the pockets do?
Each holds one card aside so you can reach the card beneath it. A card in a pocket can still be planted later.
Can every deal be cleared?
With "Winnable deals only" (the default, and always for today's challenge) a solving player has cleared the deal before you see it. Choose "Any shuffle" in the settings for the luck of the draw.
Does it save my game?
Yes, in this browser only. Your unfinished deal, best scores and badges are never uploaded.
