Schema Markup Generator
Fill in a form, get valid JSON-LD with Google’s required and recommended fields marked.
What is the page about?
Details
Required needed for the rich result · Recommended improves it. Mark up only what visitors can see on the page.
Paste the code into the Code tab of the Rich Results Test. Add it to the page’s HTML (head or body); it isn’t shown to visitors.
Checks
No problems found. Google may still choose not to show a rich result.
About the Schema Markup Generator
Structured data describes a page in a format search engines can read reliably — the product’s price, the event’s date and venue, the recipe’s cooking time. Google recommends the JSON-LD format, which sits in a <script type="application/ld+json"> block and does not change how the page looks.
Choose one of 12 types and fill in the form. Fields are marked Required or Recommended following Google Search Central’s documentation for each rich result, and the checks explain what is missing or malformed: dates, currencies, URLs, coordinates, salary ranges. Ratings are never invented: they are only written when you enter real values, and are not offered where Google ignores self-collected reviews.
How to use it
- Pick what the page is about: Article, Product, Event, Recipe, Job posting, Local business and so on.
- Fill in the fields, starting with the ones marked Required. Use Load example to see a complete entry.
- Read the Checks: errors must be fixed for the markup to be eligible; tips are improvements.
- Copy the code into the page’s HTML (the
<head>or the<body>). - Press Copy & open Google’s Rich Results Test, paste the code in the Code tab and confirm Google can read it.
Examples
<script type="application/ld+json">
{
"@context": "https://schema.org",
"@type": "Product",
"name": "Assam Black Tea, 250 g",
"brand": { "@type": "Brand", "name": "Example Tea Co." },
"offers": {
"@type": "Offer",
"price": 499,
"priceCurrency": "INR",
"availability": "https://schema.org/InStock"
}
}
</script>Which rich results Google still shows
Google’s search gallery lists the features it currently supports, including Article, Product, Event, Recipe, Job posting, Local business, Organization, Breadcrumb and Profile page (for people). WebSite markup on the home page tells Google your site name.
Some features have been retired, and the generator says so instead of promising results:
- FAQ rich results stopped appearing on 7 May 2026.
- How-to rich results were removed in September 2023.
- The sitelinks search box was retired in November 2024, so WebSite markup has no search action.
FAQPage and HowTo remain valid schema.org vocabulary, so the generator still writes them for other consumers — just don’t expect them to change Google results.
Rules that keep markup eligible
From Google’s general structured data guidelines:
- Mark up only content that visitors can see on the page, and make it a true representation of that page.
- Include every required property for the feature you want.
- Put the markup on the page it describes.
- Never mark up fake reviews or misleading content: ratings that don’t come from real users can lead to a manual action.
- Valid markup makes a page eligible; Google does not guarantee that a rich result will be shown.
Limitations
- Each type covers the properties Google documents plus a few common schema.org ones — not every possible schema.org property.
- The checks cannot see your page, so they can’t confirm that the marked-up content is visible there. That is up to you.
- One item per output. For several items on a page (e.g. an Article and a BreadcrumbList), add one script block for each.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I put the JSON-LD code?
Anywhere in the page’s HTML — Google reads JSON-LD in the <head> and in the <body>. Most CMSs have a field or plugin for custom head code.
Can I use several schema types on one page?
Yes. Add a separate <script type="application/ld+json"> block for each item, for example an Article plus a BreadcrumbList.
Why can’t I add star ratings to my business?
Google does not show review stars for LocalBusiness or Organization markup when the business collects the reviews about itself, including through embedded review widgets. Ratings are offered for products and recipes, and only with real values from your users.
Does structured data improve my ranking?
Google presents structured data as a way to understand the page and to become eligible for rich results — not as a ranking boost — and says valid markup does not guarantee that a feature appears. Google’s published case studies report more clicks and traffic from rich results, not higher positions.
Why does the code show \u003c instead of <?
Every < inside the JSON is written as the escape \u003c, so text such as </script> in a description can’t end the script block early. JSON parsers, including Google’s, read it as a normal <.
Should I keep FAQ markup that I already have?
It does no harm, and it is still valid schema.org, but Google no longer shows FAQ rich results. Make sure the questions and answers are visible on the page.
