About the Online HTML Editor
Work on a rich-text document and its source together. Add headings, emphasis, lists, quotes, links, tables and image URLs; every change passes through DOMPurify. Word and Docs paste uses the same semantic cleanup rules as the Word to HTML tool. The free preview shows up to half the text, at most 100 words; your own source stays editable and the full visual editor and cleaned exports open with a Pro pass.
How to use it
- Paste your own HTML or load the locally saved draft. Choose the source editor for line numbers and HTML syntax support.
- With a Pro pass, use the visual toolbar to add headings, lists, links, tables or image URLs.
- Clean Word paste, remove inline styles, strip empty tags, or beautify and minify the sanitized result.
- With a Pro pass, copy or download the clean document. Save your input separately to keep your own source without an export lock.
Examples
<p><span style="font-weight:700">Report</span></p>
<p><strong>Report</strong></p>
Use Clean Word or Docs paste to interpret Office formatting before sanitization.
Sanitization
DOMPurify provides the sanitizer; OWASP XSS prevention explains safe document output boundaries.
Limitations
- The rich-text document keeps semantic tags; Office shapes, equations and arbitrary page CSS are not retained.
- Remote images remain URL references and may change or fail when the exported document is opened.
- Source editing stays available without a pass; the full clean HTML and visual editing open with a Pro pass.

Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, Online HTML Editor shows up to half of the cleaned text (at most 100 words) as read-only plain text; your source stays editable, and visual editing and clean HTML open with a Pro pass. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Can pasted scripts run on this page?
No. The visual editor shows only what DOMPurify's allowlist keeps: scripts, event handlers, frames and form controls are removed every time the document changes.
Do image URLs upload my document?
No document is uploaded. A remote image URL is retained in exported HTML, while the editor shows a text placeholder. Opening the exported document can request that image.
Where is my draft saved?
The current source is stored in this browser on this device. Reset removes the draft. If local storage is unavailable, download your own input before leaving.
Where can I run HTML, CSS and JavaScript together?
Use the separate HTML, CSS and JS playground. This editor produces document markup and removes executable content.
