CSV headers accept citations, cited by, citation count or times cited. Every publication row and its exact count is kept.

About the Citation Indices & Curve

Paste citation counts or a Scholar/Scopus-style CSV to calculate h-index, g-index, i10-index and m-quotient. The complete sorted curve and h marker show how the result follows from the entered publications. Integer citation counts stay exact, including values beyond ordinary decimal-number precision.

How to use it

  1. Choose citation counts or CSV and paste the complete publication data.
  2. For CSV, include a citations, cited by, citation count or times cited column; publication titles are optional.
  3. Enter positive years since first publication, then calculate and inspect the complete curve and h marker.
  4. Copy the working or download complete CSV/JSON results after unlock.

Index definitions

h is the largest rank whose publication has at least that many citations. g is the largest rank for which the top-ranked publications total at least g² citations; it cannot exceed the number of publications entered. i10 counts publications with at least 10 citations. m = h ÷ the entered years since first publication. Hirsch’s original paper introduces h and m; Scholar’s citation help describes its citation metrics.

Limitations

  • Coverage, self-citations, publication age, field differences and database matching are not normalized.
  • Indices describe the complete entered list; they are not an individual scientific-quality judgment.
  • A pasted export must include the citation-count column. Missing counts are errors, never treated as zero.

Frequently asked questions

What do I get without a pass?

Without a pass, Citation Indices & Curve shows the entered fields and method, with complete calculated results and exports locked. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.

Are large citation counts rounded?

No. Counts and running totals are kept as exact whole numbers in the working and the CSV.

Why can my index differ from a database’s index?

The lists, citation coverage, publication matching and observation state may differ. This result uses only the complete entered records.
