Summary
The speech model and the summary use this language. In MySmartCoPilot cloud it can be detected for you.
When your device can't answer, this goes to MySmartCoPilot's cloud AI. Personal details such as email addresses and phone numbers are masked first, and we don't keep it. How AI works

About the AI Audio & Podcast Summarizer
Choose a podcast episode, an interview, a call, a lecture or a voice memo — or paste its transcript — and get the gist without listening to the whole thing: a TL;DR, the key points and the most quotable sentences, each with the time it was said. Select a time and the recording plays from there, so you can check any point in seconds. Then ask about the recording (“What did they say about pricing?”): the answer comes only from what was said in it, with the times it relies on, or says it isn’t in the recording.
The recording is transcribed on your own device by default, and a summary without AI appears at once, made of the recording’s own sentences. Then the AI summary is written — by your browser’s built-in AI where it has one, or by a language model on your device after a one-time download; with a pass it can also be written in MySmartCoPilot cloud. Long recordings are summarised part by part. Without a pass you get the free preview: the first half of the summary’s words.
How to use it
- Choose A recording and pick the file (MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, Opus, FLAC or a video, up to 2 hours), or choose A transcript and paste one: plain text, SRT or WebVTT subtitles, or lines that start with a time such as
12:31. - Choose the language spoken and how many key points you want. For a recording, keep On this device and pick a speech model (the first time, it is downloaded once).
- Press Summarise. The transcript is made, the summary without AI appears, and then the AI panel asks where the AI summary should be written; your choice is remembered for the parts of a long recording.
- Select any time to hear that moment, and check points marked check: the transcript doesn’t clearly say them.
- Type a question under Ask about this recording and press Ask. With a pass, press Download (Markdown or text) or Copy, with or without the transcript.

TL;DR: Watering is where most balcony tomatoes fail. So the short version: a cherry variety, a big pot with holes, six hours of sun, steady water and a weekly potassium feed. [0:26] On a balcony, choose a compact bush variety or a cherry tomato, not a tall vine that needs two metres of support. [0:53] A tomato needs at least twenty litres of potting mix, and bigger is better, because a small pot dries out in a single hot afternoon. [1:37] Tomatoes want at least six hours of direct sun a day, and eight is better.
The summary without AI is made of the transcript’s own sentences, each with the time it was said (a sentence that starts in the middle of a timed line gets a time inside it). The AI summary that follows says the same in fewer words.
Ask: How often should I feed the plants?
The answer cites the passages it uses, such as the one from 2:46: “Once the first flowers open, feed every week with a liquid tomato feed that is rich in potassium.”
Answers come only from the passages of the transcript that match the question; select a time to hear it.
Common uses
- Deciding whether a long podcast episode is worth an hour of your time.
- Notes from a recorded lecture, interview or webinar, with the times to go back to.
- Finding what was said about one subject in a long call or meeting recording.
- Pulling exact quotes, with their times, for an article or show notes.
What you get
- TL;DR: the gist in one or two sentences (one when the AI writes it).
- Key points: 3, 5 or 7, each with the time of the sentence of the recording that supports it best. A point whose words are mostly not in the transcript, or that has a number the transcript doesn’t have, is marked check.
- Quotes: whole sentences exactly as they were said, chosen by how central they are to the recording, never rewritten.
- Ask about this recording: answers from what was said, with the times they rely on; “not found” when it isn’t said.
- The transcript, with a time on every paragraph.
Without AI, and with AI
The summary without AI comes first and needs no download: its TL;DR, points and quotes are sentences of the transcript itself, chosen with TextRank, the graph-ranking method of Mihalcea and Tarau, “TextRank: Bringing Order into Text”, which scores each sentence by how much it has in common with the rest. The AI summary is written in its own words by your browser’s built-in AI, by a language model on your device, or — with a pass — by MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI, and is labelled with where it ran. Recordings longer than about a quarter of an hour are summarised in parts, and the parts’ points summarised together.
Where it runs
- On this device (the default, and the free preview): transcription, the summary and the answers run in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere. Computers are much faster than phones, and an on-device language model needs a recent browser with WebGPU.
- MySmartCoPilot cloud (with a pass that unlocks this tool): the speech of the recording, or the transcript for the summary and your questions, is sent to MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI after you choose it in the AI panel. Cloud use is limited each day; when it is used up, the page says so and you can carry on on this device.
Limitations
- AI summaries can leave out or misstate details, and speech recognition mishears names and numbers: check a point against the recording (select its time) before you share it.
- Answers come only from what was said in this recording and can still be wrong; the times show where they come from.
- On this device you choose the language spoken; MySmartCoPilot cloud can detect it (with a pass). Speakers are not told apart.
- Recordings up to 2 hours and transcripts up to 200,000 characters; a very long transcript gets the summary without AI only.
- Plain text without times gets estimated times (about 150 words a minute), so its times are approximate.
- Use it with recordings you have the right to use, and ask before you record or summarise other people.
Privacy
Cloud AI only if you choose it: you see what is sent first
On this device (the default), the speech model you choose and, for the AI summary, a language model are downloaded from MySmartCoPilot once each, the first time; the recording and the transcript stay on your device. Only if you choose MySmartCoPilot cloud (with a pass) are the speech of the recording, or the transcript for the summary and your questions, sent to MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI, as the page says under that choice.
Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, AI Audio & Podcast Summarizer shows the first half of the summary’s words (up to 100) with their times, of each answer and of the transcript, all made from your whole recording. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded or copied. A Pro, Premium or Ultimate pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Is my recording uploaded?
Not on this device, the default: the recording is transcribed and summarised in your browser, and only the models are downloaded, once each, from MySmartCoPilot. Only if you choose MySmartCoPilot cloud (with a pass) is the speech or the transcript sent to MySmartCoPilot’s cloud AI.
Can I summarise a podcast I don’t have as a file?
Yes, if you have its transcript: many podcast apps and websites show one. Choose A transcript and paste it, with its times if it has them. MySmartCoPilot does not download episodes from other websites.
How does it know when each point was said?
The transcript keeps the time of every sentence. Each AI point is matched to the sentence of the transcript whose words it shares most (rare words count more), and gets that sentence’s time; points of the summary without AI and quotes are sentences of the transcript themselves.
What does “check” next to a point mean?
That the transcript doesn’t clearly say it: most of the point’s words are not in any one sentence, or it has a number the transcript doesn’t have. The AI may have merged two things or made a mistake, so play the recording at that point or read the transcript.
What does the free preview include?
Without a pass the page transcribes and summarises your whole recording on your device, and shows the first half of the summary’s words (up to 100), of each answer and of the transcript. Downloading and copying need the full result: a Pro pass, or an unlock of this one result, shows everything at once without running it again.
Which languages work?
Transcription understands the 99 languages Whisper was trained on. The summary without AI works in every language; the AI summary is best in English and the major languages, and your browser’s built-in AI supports only a few of them.
