About the Add Text to Image
Add one or several text layers to a photo and style each one: fonts (Noto Sans and Poppins include Devanagari for Hindi, Marathi and Sanskrit), bold, size, alignment, letter and line spacing, a colour or gradient fill, an outline, a shadow or glow, a background box with rounded corners, and text on an arc for badges and logos. Drag text to place it, pull a corner to resize it and the top handle to rotate it.
The image is saved at its full resolution as JPG, PNG or WebP — text sizes are measured in the photo’s own pixels, so what you see is what you get. Fonts are free under the SIL Open Font License and load from this site; your photo never leaves the device.
How to use it
- Choose, drop or paste a photo. A text appears in the middle, ready to edit.
- Type your words in the Text box (line breaks make new lines) and pick a font, size and colour — or one of the ready styles such as Meme, Caption box, Gradient title, Neon or Curved badge.
- Drag the text into place, resize it from a corner or rotate it with the top handle. Select Add text for another layer; Duplicate, Delete and the layer order buttons work on the selected one.
- Choose the format and select Download (or Copy image to paste it elsewhere).
Examples
“शुभ दीपावली” · Poppins bold · gradient gold to red · soft shadow
A greeting with correctly joined Devanagari letters, saved at the photo’s full size
Top and bottom texts in capitals · Meme style (Anton, white with a black outline)
Text that stays readable on any background
“HANDMADE IN JAIPUR” · Curved badge style · curve 160°
Text bent along an arch, ready to sit above a logo
Common uses
- Greetings and wishes in English, Hindi or Marathi on family photos.
- Captions, titles and quotes for social posts and thumbnails.
- Memes with outlined text at the top and bottom.
- Labels, prices and offers on product photos; curved text for badges and stickers.
Fonts and languages
- Noto Sans covers Latin (with accents), Devanagari, Greek and Cyrillic; Poppins covers Latin and Devanagari. Use either of them for Hindi, Marathi, Nepali or Sanskrit.
- Inter and Montserrat are clean sans-serifs; Anton and Bebas Neue are tall display faces for headlines and memes; Dancing Script, Great Vibes and Caveat are script and handwriting styles.
- Characters a font does not have (for example Bengali, Tamil or Telugu letters) are drawn with a font installed on your device; the page tells you when this happens. Device font uses your device’s fonts for everything.
All bundled fonts are open-source (SIL Open Font License 1.1), so the images you make with them can be used commercially.
Getting the look right
- Outline keeps light text readable on busy photos; 6–10% of the size looks like a classic meme.
- Shadow with no offset and a large blur makes a glow — the Neon style uses a cyan glow.
- Background box puts a rounded, semi-transparent box behind the text, as in news captions.
- Curve bends the text: positive values make an arch, negative a valley; 360° wraps a short text into a full circle.
- Letter spacing of 5–15% suits capitals; line spacing sets the distance between lines.
Limitations
- On a curve, each character is placed on its own: joined scripts such as Devanagari keep their conjuncts, but the headline (shirorekha) can show small gaps at strong curves.
- Where a browser cannot space letters itself (some Safari versions), letter spacing is applied character by character, which can loosen joined scripts; keep spacing at 0% for Devanagari there.
- The text is merged into the picture when you save; to change it later, keep the page open (undo and redo work until you leave it).
- Images larger than about 33 megapixels are scaled down for editing and saving.
- Italic styles are not included; fonts come in regular and bold (Anton, Bebas Neue and Great Vibes in one weight).

Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The photo and the text are drawn in your browser; nothing is uploaded. Fonts load from this site the first time you use them, and the tool works offline afterwards.
Can I write in Hindi or other Indian languages?
Yes. Type or paste Hindi, Marathi, Nepali or Sanskrit text and choose Noto Sans or Poppins, which include Devanagari and join conjuncts correctly. Other scripts such as Bengali, Tamil or Gujarati use a font from your device.
Does the saved image lose quality?
The picture is saved at its own width and height, pixel for pixel, with the text added — only images above about 33 megapixels are first scaled down to fit in browser memory. Choose PNG to avoid any further compression, or JPG/WebP for smaller files.
How do I make curved text?
Select the text and move Curve — up for an arch, down for a valley — or start from the Curved badge style.
Can I use these fonts commercially?
Yes. All bundled fonts are under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows using them in images for any purpose.
