About Comet Juggler: Score After Dark
Comet Juggler: Score After Dark is a night show inside the big top of a floating carnival. A juggler stands in the spotlight in the middle of the sawdust ring and tosses glowing comets high into the tent, one after another, and you slice them with a sparkler. Drag a finger or the mouse across the air and anything the blade passes through is cut in two. On a keyboard or a controller, steer the sparkler with the keys or the stick and hold Slash while you move.
Every comet you cut keeps your chain alive for a second and a half and pays more as the chain grows, and a sweep that takes two or three at once pays a bonus. Those are the easy points. The dangerous points hang in flaming hoops that appear in the tent for a few seconds at a time: a comet sliced while it is inside a hoop pays ten times as much and adds three to your chain. But the juggler tosses firecrackers through the hoops as well, and a firecracker that you slice goes off in your face, costing you a heart and your chain. Leave them alone and they fall harmlessly.
Eight acts make the night, each with its own tosses and hoops, and every hoop that burns out unused leaves smoke that makes the next act’s hoops smaller. Let three comets in a row fall without a cut and the crowd gets restless: a heart is gone. Cut twelve in a row and the Grand Finale begins: fireworks, slow time and double points for seven seconds. Each night adds a rule of its own, today’s show is the same for everyone, and your best run of it cuts beside you as a ghost.
How to play
- Drag a finger or hold the mouse button and sweep across the comets to slice them.
- Or steer the sparkler with the arrow keys, WASD or a stick, and hold Space, Enter, Ⓐ or the Slash button to cut.
- Every comet keeps the chain alive for a second and a half. One sweep through two or three pays a bonus.
- A comet sliced inside a flaming hoop is a gate: ten times the points and three links of the chain. Hoops burn out after a few seconds.
- Never slice a firecracker: it goes off and costs a heart and your chain. Left alone, it falls harmlessly.
- Three comets in a row falling uncut cost a heart. Twelve cuts in a row start the Grand Finale.

Frequently asked questions
How do I slice with a keyboard?
Steer the sparkler with the arrow keys or WASD and hold Space while you move it through a comet. A mouse works by holding its button and dragging, and a finger by dragging across the screen.
What is a firecracker?
A red cracker with a lit fuse that flies with the comets. Slicing one makes it explode in your face: you lose a heart and your chain. If you leave it alone it just falls out of the tent.
How do the hoops work?
A hoop hangs in the tent for a few seconds, dim at first and then blazing. A comet sliced while it is inside a blazing hoop pays ten times as much and adds three to your chain.
Why did I lose a heart when I did not slice a firecracker?
Three comets in a row fell without a cut, and the crowd got restless. A cut in between starts the count again.
Can I slow it down?
Yes. In Settings, Pace: Relaxed runs at three-quarter speed, Assist makes your sparkler cut wider and the hoops a little smaller to land in, and Toggle instead of hold makes Slash press-to-cut, press-to-stop.
