Check-ins
A CSV file needs a first row naming its columns: date, weight, waist, hips, chest, arm, thigh, neck, steps, workouts, calories, protein, adherence, notes (any of them, any order). Waist for the body-fat estimate: men at the navel, women at the narrowest point.
No check-ins yet. Add the first one, or import a CSV file.
Before and after photos
Optional, with the client’s consent
The client is under 18: photos cannot be added to this report.
Before
After
Drag on the photo to mark the area to blur, or move the box with the arrow keys (Shift + arrows changes its size). Press Enter or Blur this area.
Photos are shrunk and kept on this device. Blurring changes the photo in the report: the unblurred original is not kept with it. The face finder (MediaPipe Pose Landmarker) runs on this device; check every photo, as it can miss a face that is turned away.

Your letterhead
Name, qualification, registration and logo
Typed once and kept in this browser on this device; the diet chart, exercise handout, workout plan, progress report and posture report makers here all use it. It is never uploaded.
Write only qualifications and registrations you hold, as your trainer, coach or dietitian council or association lets you use them.
Saved reports
Saved in this browser on this device. A report file (.json) keeps a copy or moves it to another device; save a report to carry on with the next check-ins.

About the Client Progress Report Maker for Trainers and Dietitians (branded PDF)
A report builder for personal trainers, online coaches and dietitians. Type your client’s check-ins — weight, waist, hips, chest, arm, thigh and neck, steps, workouts, calories, protein and how much of the plan they followed — or import them from a CSV file, and the tool works out the change since the first check-in, the weekly rate and the averages, and draws charts.
From the tape measurements it adds two clearly labelled estimates: body fat by the US Navy tape method and the waist-to-height ratio, with the equations of the Body Fat Calculator and the Waist-to-Height Ratio Calculator. Add before and after photos on an alignment grid — with a consent tick, a face blur that runs on your device, and no photos at all for clients under 18 — then your comments and next goals, and, with a Premium pass, download a PDF on your letterhead or phone pictures to send on WhatsApp; the free preview shows the report as marked page images. The report shows numbers only: no medical interpretation, no ranges and no labels.
How to use it
- Fill in Your letterhead once (your business or clinic, your name, certification and logo; it is kept on this device), then the client’s name and, for the body-fat estimate, their sex and height.
- Press Add check-in for each measurement day and type what you measured — any of the boxes — or press Import CSV to read a spreadsheet of check-ins.
- Open Before and after photos if the client agreed to photos: add them, press Blur the face (or blur an area by hand), and tick that the client is 18 or older and agreed in writing.
- Write your comments and the next goals, and choose the charts.
- Check the preview; with a Premium pass, or after unlocking this report, press Download PDF, Phone pictures, Copy as text or CSV (without one the pages stay a marked free preview). Save this report keeps it in this browser for the next check-ins.
Examples
82 kg, then 80.6 kg two weeks later, then 79 kg two weeks after that
Weight: 82 → 79 kg (−3 kg; −0.8 kg a week)
The weekly rate is the least-squares slope through all three check-ins: −0.75 kg a week, printed with one decimal.
Man, height 175 cm, neck 38 cm, waist at the navel 90 cm
Body fat (estimate) 20.8%
In inches: 86.010 × log10(35.43 − 14.96) − 70.041 × log10(68.90) + 36.76 = 20.8.
Waist 90 cm, height 175 cm
Waist ÷ height 0.51
90 ÷ 175 = 0.514. The ratio is the same in inches.
Common uses
- Personal trainers sending a monthly progress report with their gym’s or brand’s logo.
- Online coaches turning weekly check-ins from a spreadsheet into a report and a WhatsApp picture.
- Dietitians and nutritionists showing weight and waist changes next to calories, protein and how closely the plan was followed.
- Gyms giving members a printed review at a renewal.
How the numbers are worked out
- Change: the latest value minus the first, over the check-ins that have that measurement.
- Weekly rate: the least-squares slope through every check-in with a value, per 7 days — one unusual weigh-in moves it less than (latest − first) ÷ weeks would.
- Body fat (estimate): the US Navy circumference equations (Hodgdon and Beckett), with lengths in inches: men 86.010 × log10(waist − neck) − 70.041 × log10(height) + 36.76; women 163.205 × log10(waist + hips − neck) − 97.684 × log10(height) − 78.387. They need the sex, height, neck and waist, and the hips for women. The equations as written are quoted in McClung et al., which also compared them with DXA body scans: on average they read about 4 points lower, more so in men.
- Waist-to-height ratio (estimate): waist ÷ height, in the same units.
- Averages: steps, workouts, calories, protein and plan followed are averaged over the check-ins that have them.
No bands, healthy ranges or labels are added to any number: what the numbers mean for your client is for you to say in your comments.
Measuring for the tape method
As for the Body Fat Calculator: men measure the waist (abdomen) at the navel; women measure the waist at its narrowest and the hips at their widest; the neck is measured just below the larynx. Use the same tape, the same spots and the same time of day at every check-in, so the changes are real changes.
Importing check-ins from a spreadsheet
Save the sheet as CSV. The first row names the columns — date is needed; weight, waist, hips, chest, arm, thigh, neck, steps, workouts, calories, protein, adherence and notes are read when present, in any order and with or without units in the name. Dates written with numbers are read in your country’s order (day/month/year or month/day/year); dates with month names and year-month-day dates are read anywhere. Values out of range are left out and listed, and a date already in the report is filled in rather than repeated. Values are taken in the units chosen in the report.
Photos, consent and face blur
Photos are optional and are printed only when you tick that the client is 18 or older and agreed in writing. For clients under 18 the tool does not take photos and prints none. Blur the face finds the face with MediaPipe Pose Landmarker running in your browser and blurs the head; Blur an area by hand covers anything else. The blur changes the photo in the report — the unblurred photo is not kept with it (a copy you saved before blurring keeps the photo it had). Photos are shrunk and kept in this browser only. Take before and after photos from the same spot, distance and light, so the grid lines help compare them.
Limitations
- Body fat and the waist-to-height ratio are estimates from tape measurements, labelled as estimates; they are not a body scan and not a medical assessment.
- The report does not interpret anything: no healthy ranges, no blood pressure or blood sugar, no disease names. Write your own comments.
- Up to 120 check-ins per report.
- The face finder needs the person’s head in the photo and may miss a face that is turned away or covered: check every photo, and blur by hand where needed.
- Reports and photos are kept in this browser on this device; download report files to keep copies or to move them.
Privacy
Everything stays in this browser on your device: client names, check-ins, photos and saved reports (IndexedDB and localStorage). Faces are found and blurred on the device, CSV files are read on the device, and PDFs and pictures are made on the device; nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
What do I get without a pass?
Without a pass, Client Progress Report Maker for Trainers and Dietitians (branded PDF) shows every page and phone picture as images marked “MySmartCoPilot preview · not for use”, with the changes, averages and estimates on them hidden. Until you unlock it, the result can’t be downloaded, copied or shared. A Premium pass, a one-time payment that never renews, unlocks the full result. The pricing page lists the passes and their prices.
Which body-fat formula does the report use?
The US Navy circumference method (Hodgdon and Beckett), from the neck, waist and height — and the hips for women — the same equations as the Body Fat Calculator. It is printed as an estimate.
Why is the weekly rate not just the total change divided by the weeks?
It is the slope of the best straight line through every check-in, so one unusual day weighs less. With steady changes the two are close.
Can I import check-ins from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Save it as CSV with a first row naming the columns, including one called date, and press Import CSV. Dates that are already in the report are filled in, not repeated.
Are before and after photos safe to use?
They never leave your device. They are printed only when you tick that the client is 18 or older and agreed in writing (never for clients under 18), and you can blur the face on the device first.
Can I use pounds and inches?
Yes. Choose lb, in under Units: every weight, length and the height already entered is converted.
Does the report say whether the numbers are healthy?
No. It shows the measurements, changes and estimates without ranges or labels; your comments say what they mean for your client.
