How it helps
One look for the room and the table
Every piece is drawn in the same folded-paper style: each shape carries a crease down its middle, or from its centre to every point, one side catching the candlelight and the other in shadow, in cranberry, spruce, candle gold and frost. The banner over the mantel, the bunting in the doorway, the ornaments on the tree and the cards on the table belong together, so a room dressed from one printer looks planned.
Any word on a banner
A ready-made MERRY CHRISTMAS banner comes first, sixteen pennants with a gold star and a gold tree. Then every letter from A to Z, the numbers 0 to 9, & and ! each have a page of their own with the sign twice, once in cranberry and once in spruce, so a family name, JOY or HAPPY NEW YEAR is a matter of printing the right pages. The guide's banner planner lists the pages for nine words and phrases. Each pennant is 115 mm wide and 170 mm long, with two punch rings for the string.
Type the names once, or write them
The table set has 82 fields: a name for each place card and napkin ring, the dish and a note on each buffet label, the table names and the menus. The two menu cards on a page share their fields, so the menu is typed once for each design and printed as often as needed; the menu for the wall has its own. The fields carry the cards' own lettering; a field left empty prints nothing, so the same pages work for handwriting.
Made to cut at home
Every coloured piece runs 3 mm past its cut line, so a cut a little off the line shows no white edge. Fold lines are dashed, with small ticks outside the piece where each fold ends. Pieces are the same size on A4 and US Letter, and nothing is printed within 10 mm of the edge of the paper, so no borderless printing is needed. A bar on the first page of each book shows whether the page printed at actual size.
Paper that folds the way it should
The six window snowflakes are drawn whole and fold into twelve layers that match line for line, so one cut gives the whole snowflake; each was checked to unfold into a single piece with no neck narrower than 2.4 mm. The woven hearts come in a three-strip and a four-strip version with their weaving rule, the pleated stars fold along their own facets, the napkin rings lock with a tab and a slit, and the flags, garland shapes and ornaments fold over so both sides show.
Every piece on its own
Besides the books, the 183 distinct pieces come one by one as SVG, with the cut path of each piece you cut out in its own group for design programs and cutting machines, and as 300 dpi PNG images with a transparent background, for a print shop or a photo printer.

Questions
What paper should I use?
Card of 160 to 250 gsm for pennants, place cards, menus, napkin rings, table numbers, ornaments and door hangers; medium paper of 100 to 160 gsm for bunting, chains, garland shapes, pleated stars and woven hearts; ordinary 80 gsm paper for the snowflakes, which fold into 12 layers.
A4 or US Letter?
Both come in the download. Every piece is the same size on either paper; print the files for the paper in your printer.
How do I type the guests' names?
Open the table set in a PDF reader that fills forms (most computer web browsers and PDF reader apps do), click a field and type, then print. Some readers, including the built-in viewers of some phones and tablets, show what you type in a plain font of their own instead of the card's lettering.
Can I write the names by hand instead?
Yes. An empty field prints nothing: every place card, label and napkin ring keeps its gold line for writing.
Can I make a banner with my own word?
Yes. Print the alphabet pages for its letters: each page gives a letter twice, in cranberry and in spruce. The guide's banner planner lists the pages for nine words and phrases.
Do I need a cutting machine?
No: scissors, a ruler and glue are enough. For a cutting machine or a design program, every piece also comes on its own as SVG, with its cut path, and as PNG.
Does it print in black and white?
Yes. The shapes, words and cut and fold lines stay clear in black and white; the colours are made for a colour printer.
Can I print copies for my family or my class?
Yes. The personal licence includes printing copies for your own household or your own class. It doesn't allow sharing, uploading or selling the files.
