How it helps

Little ones and readers, one game

Fifty picture cards for children who cannot read yet, each picture named underneath in school print, and fifty word cards for older players. They are one set: the same fifty calls, every card different from every other, so a whole family plays one game at one table.

Letters that help small players

Every call belongs to one letter of BINGO: B for Santa's world, I for the tree and the decorations, N for treats, G for snow and winter, O for presents, toys and music. The caller says "Under the G: snowman!" and a small player looks in one column only. Each letter hangs on its own coloured bauble, and the letter is always printed, so the cards work in black and white too.

Every card different, and checked

No two cards share a row, a column, a diagonal or the squares of any other pattern, so no two players ever win with the same set of calls (two can still finish on the same call, each on their own squares). In each edition every call is on exactly half of the cards in its column (the N calls on two in five). We proved this by code from the printed pages themselves, not only from the program that made them.

A caller's set for the whole evening

50 calling cards with a clue on each for older players, nine to a page with straight cuts; the caller's board; a checklist for six games; three ready-shuffled call lists for a party without cutting; a games and prizes sheet with eight patterns from quick to long, two of them Christmas shapes; winner certificates and 120 markers. Type the prizes and names into the 25 fields, or write them in.

Check a winner in seconds

Type the card number into the caller workbook, in Microsoft Excel, LibreOffice Calc or Google Sheets, or into the caller app: the card appears with its called squares lit and the answer, Bingo or how many squares are missing. The Winners list shows every card in play that has the pattern.

A caller app that works offline

One HTML file that opens in a web browser without the internet: it draws the calls at random, shows each picture big enough for a room or a TV, checks cards, and prints cards 51 to 100 of each kind for a bigger party, with your party's name on each card if you like. It sends nothing anywhere.

How long a game lasts

With 20 players the first line usually comes after about 16 calls and a full card after about 46. The guide gives every pattern for 5 to 50 players, measured over 20,000 test games each on these very cards.

Questions

What do I need to print the cards?

A home printer and A4 or US Letter paper or thin card. Print at actual size (100 %). Every card reads in colour and in black and white.

How many people can play?

Up to 100 with the printed cards (50 picture and 50 word cards), and up to 200 with the cards the caller app prints.

Can picture cards and word cards play in the same game?

Yes. They share the same 50 calls, and no two cards of the set share a line.

Do I need the internet or an account?

No. The PDFs, the workbook and the caller app all work offline, and the app sends nothing anywhere.

Can I type in the prizes and the winners' names?

Yes: the games and prizes sheet and the winner certificates have 25 fields to type in before you print, or you can write by hand. Some PDF readers show typed words in a plain lettering of their own.

Is it all right for small children?

Small markers such as buttons, coins or sweets can choke babies and young children: for the very young, use crayons to tick the squares, and keep small markers out of their reach.

Can I print copies for my family or my class?

Yes. The personal licence includes printing copies for your own household or your own class. It doesn't allow sharing, uploading or selling the files.
